- Few cars from the 1990s are as distinct as Nissan's 300ZX. Launched for the 1990 model year, the Z32 marked the complete transition of Nissan's Z from a small sports car to a midsize grand tourer. In the eighteen years since it left US shores, the 300ZX has cultivated a devoted following. Hundreds, if not thousands, of Z32s have been modified to new extremes.

Except he drives an hour and a half for an oil change. I'm sorry, I'm thankful towards him for having an appreciation for cars and spending the money to have this one saved and taken care of. But there is still a nerve of mine that gets touched the wrong way when someone can't do there own oil changes. How much of a "car guy" are you really?

Nissan figured if you are losing you should at least have a nice view while losing. Front looks kind of menacing so those rolling up on it think twice before messing with it. Had 90zxtt black on black. I still think this side of italian super cars it is the best looking car normal folks could ever afford.
I understand this guy completely. I had a 93 300zx 2+2 not a twin turbo but still fast. the NA has 225hp while the twin turbo has 300hp and only about 1k to upgrade it to 400hp. I regret getting rid of it because of economic reasons but I had one about 15 years ago when gas was $1.50/gallon. ha there was no problem "topping it off" (filling it 2 the max) everytime. The interior felt like you were snuggled and firm inside the cockpit not tight but snuggled so u felt confident that u had total control of the car especially when were going fast. U don't even have to upgrade these cars. They are awesome in just the stock version. Soon as my priorities are straight I'm getting another one.

Only 1k for 100 more hp. Cant see how you came to that as 400 would mean at least 550cc injectors, boost controller and ecu upgrades. I paid 1000cad for just injectors and the werent top of the line. Ecu upgrade to 400 brake or wheel hp would mean haltech or equivalent. Thats 1500cad+. Boost controller (cheap) 250+cad. Looking at at least 2k usd. But still not too bad compared to other vehicles
The NA 300zx with a manual did 0-60 in 6.7 and a 15s quarter...modern V6 minivans are quicker to 60mph. Manual NA Z's are fun to drive but they're by no means fast. My ten year old Lexus is350 will crack off 5.0s flat to 60mph measured with a draggy GPS logger.

Absolutely mint. Most body kits dont do this car justice. You found one that complements the vehicle well and a color that shows the beauty and architecture of this masterpiece. This is what the 350z should have been. This is what my dream car looks like. The Z32 is so underrated, it's a shame it didnt last longer.

Not sure which, but Lamborghini Took the headlights straight from the 1990 300zx and just covered the bit of glass that said "Nissan" on it. Literally they paid Nissan to use the headlight model

i like the way he speaks about his 300z. you can immediately tell he is not a general car enthusiast, but a one-off love with his 'z'. i bet if he fell in love with another model or brand, that car would be very lucky to have him as an owner. reminds me of that disney's herbie kinda-love. man and machine connected.

Beautiful car. I'm considering getting a 350z...But if I was going to get a project car from the 90's, i'd get a 2nd Gen Toyota MR2. I really look forward to having a Z and an MR2 in my garage one day.

Wow this video is just amazing and inspiring! This whole week I've been deciding if i should sell my 300zx or not because its so many problems and i felt i couldn't deal with it anymore. But after seeing this video, now i know i cant sell it. The z is truly one of my dream cars. now i see that owning one of these cars isn't easy. But I have to live through the struggle of its problems... And one day i will be so glad that i chose to keep the Z.

Absolutely gorgeous Joe. She looks perfect. Im a purist when it comes to the Z. There is not much I hate more then seeing this beautiful car riced out with god awful body kits and equally hideous front bumper covers. But in my mind I have always thought that maybe some day, IF I could find the right metal fabricator I would have him make me new front and rear wide body fenders the way Nissan could have. But I must say, I have just seen on my screen what up until now I've only seen in my mind. I completely relate to your feelings and what JoZ means to you because I feel exactly the same about mine. She is a 95TT, I have had her since 96 and will have her till the day I die. This video is now 6+ years old so I don't know if you will even see this post. But I pray you and JoZ are still making beautiful engine music together

Beautiful job on a great car. Mine is a 90, and in the garage for a long time now, sad, but I have just a little more to do. Twin BBearing turbos, 550 injectors, 440hp at 17psi on pump gas. Twin disc carbon fiber clutch (awful hard to drive city, but holds real good), Porsche speed yellow with black front, yellow and black leather inside, Kirk roll bar, stop tech brakes, tuned exhaust sounds great... It is an antidepressant car. Soon as I started driving it to work, stopped taking antidepressants!! Silly toy? Or magical wonder? I'm 68, still into it. Just needs to stop raining (Seattle) and I get out there and finish the few more things....then hopefully back on the road. Currently driving a Turbo z31, love that one also, but it's not antidepressant, just a great daily driver. 300 ZX forever!
That is a really tasteful body kit. The Z32 silhouette is so good that I would always discourage fucking with it, but this one is spectacular.

The 300Z is the fairest of them all. they are wonderful cars for track/daily. Saw one pushing 2k HP thing was insane. I wouldn't want it though. to much maintenance. I'm still watching this video... I owned a 93 2+2 pearl white in high school days. Master cylinder leak almost killed me when my breaks caught an air bubble while I was approaching an exit off the freeway.
The exit turns 160 degrees or so at a steep incline with ditches and palm trees on both sides.
I turned the wheel so hard the rear end started coming around and I pulled the E-brake. I did a 360 degree turn going 70mph and came to a complete stop.
Still, I want another Z.
Then I want it to look like JoeZ

Holy shit. What a video. I must say that is the most beautiful Z32 I've ever seen. I love the widebody, which is extremely surprising for me because I HATE wide cars. She is gorgeous all over. the rear and front "bumper" areas, the spoilers, lights, that unbelievable color, and virtually all of that interior, especially that steering wheel. And that is probably the very first time I've ever liked scissor doors on something other than a supercar. Fucking awesome way to express your feelings about a vehicle, and that's a hell of a way to pick out a name for her!

+Grant Nicholson Joe isn't, either. He spent YEARS on this car and he doesn't treat it as a daily driver. Z32s are still cheap compared to FDs or Mk4 Supras. Had he gone with those... Well, the car would be half as complete.
