The building system really is super great, the amount of detail you can add is great, you're not forced to snap, limited by terrain, anything it's all good.
Nice!! I can't wait for this, the more I see of it, the more I want to play it! So much versatility with the building mechanics, awesome sneak peek, thanks Jade! Cute build too....also, please tell me we can interact with the furniture, I hate when you place seats/beds but can't use them. :)
I've been having a blast playing the demo, but given the short 8 hour time limit for the game, I've not been able to experiment with the base building - so thank you for showing off what is possible here! I cannot wait for the full release!
my BIGGEST question is going to be instance limits. In Valheim every changes you make adds an instance and progressively reduces your game playability the bigger the number of instances happen. Every object and terrain changes counts towards it. It limit what we can do, as megastructures and entire towns become almost unplayable as your framerate dips in the teens. In No Man's Sky the number of objects you can place are capped at 3000 per base, in order to stop this from happening. That also puts a damper on megastructures. I really hope Enshrouded doesn't have this problem, I would love to build entire cities like we can in Minecraft.
I really like that you can change the environment and not just build on it. Do we know if their will be water physic to worry about like rain or streams yet or if we can build a house near the coast?
I honestly wish some of these survival builders would just allow us to enter a Free-floating Build Mode. I can see how it's more "realistic" to having to jump around and place each piece of the house, but personally I've often just found it tedious.
Look forward to this possibly after Valheim building system reminds me a lot of Everquest Next Landmark. Voxel base will allow for loads of variation. I wonder if they are using the Voxel farm engine that Landmark were.
I really cannot wait for this game, I play a lot of Valheim and my main thing is building great bases and the building mechanics in Enshrouded is the best I have ever seen on a game. But I am wondering is there a fast travel method to get around the map quicker like the portals in Valheim?
As an experienced Valheim builder, I can say that this game has a lack of features in terms of build diagonal and rotated shapes. You can't really build a round room or tower here. Roofing angles are also limited with simple 45 degrees. Material blending is awesome, but who really needs this when still can build nothing but box... Apart of all mentioned, the terraforming is really great here.
This is absolutely awesome but what about optimization? And another question what is this "fog" running under the roof? i hope its kind of a little glitch wich will be fixed?
This game could have been great for Valheim players if it had a procedurally generated world. Once you've explored the map in this game, you've seen it all.
Once you have cleared valheim once, you have seen it all. The only value of procedurally generated maps is that you don't know the exact location of something on different play throughs but there will never be any great points of interest. Hand crafted maps have much bigger upsides and fewer lows than procedurally generated ones. Generated ones are all basically the same thing. Once you have seen plains once, you know what it looks like and what it contains. It's no different from hand crafted in that sense. Valheim also has no gear as loot, only raw materials. So there isn't even any great loot waiting for you in an unexpected location. Just materials. So exploring the entire map is absolutely pointless in Valheim because you know what you will find in different biomes. There are no surprises. Hand crafted maps make you explore every inch. I'm a Valheim player and absolutely adore the game but a hand crafted map will be the way to go here. It could be different if the map was smaller but if the map is huge like in Enshrouded, hand crafted will bring way more joy.
@@beiggo21 I'm glad we can agree to disagree. For those of us who loved the ambience of Valheim and "getting lost" in the woods or prairies, procedurally generated maps are fantastic. We're not after something we haven't seen before. With hand-crafted maps, yes you get more details and lore tends to be better tied in, but onces you've seen it, you've seen it :D
75% of the fun in Valheim is building. Is this going to be that kind of experience? There are people that play some games JUST for the building. Do you think this will be one of those games?
applied for test but havent gotten a reply yet😢 but still hopeful. as for me, the game character design could improve( thats why its beta or they want that design similar to valheim(might be too used to arks graphics at high-ultra😅) in which case its fine) but world looks amazing. and mechanically its really good. the building aspect is definetly top notch and inovative. would love to get access quickly in order to bug test and make it the best survival game this summer.
this looks really good I'm wondering how they've handled terrain deformation lag, games with that tend to get laggier the more you dig i.e. Valheim, Space Engineers
Their previous Game is "Portal knight", basicly a minecraft version with a little bit more combat. There you could build gigantic buildings and terraform the whole map without any issues so I'm confident that you wont get problems of that kind
Looks awesome. Only downside to me is theres again, no angles, only 90 degrees turning, at least as far as i've seen stuff about the game. Let aloune circular shapes not possible (?) i realy realy realy hope we wont be as restriced as it feels as of yet.. because whilst it realy DOEs look awesome at a first glance - the actual creative building isnt as big as i would have hoped for.
if this fulfills all promises this will be my favorite building game, just wish they had some non human character options been getting kind of sick of always having to play as a human or human + parts
Since this was announced, it's been my most anticipated survival game
Same here I badly want in on the upcoming beta
The building system really is super great, the amount of detail you can add is great, you're not forced to snap, limited by terrain, anything it's all good.
I do wish more survival/building games would let you terraform and dig up the ground . . I like having a basement on my builds
They really put their hearts into the building in this game and it's something I've been waiting to see from the survival genre for a long time.
Nice!! I can't wait for this, the more I see of it, the more I want to play it! So much versatility with the building mechanics, awesome sneak peek, thanks Jade! Cute build too....also, please tell me we can interact with the furniture, I hate when you place seats/beds but can't use them. :)
So excited to try the building and terraforming 👀
This game has some of the most advanced building mechanics I've ever seen! Absolutely amazing! Can't wait to try it for myself!
I've been having a blast playing the demo, but given the short 8 hour time limit for the game, I've not been able to experiment with the base building - so thank you for showing off what is possible here! I cannot wait for the full release!

I LOVE how you can overlap walls and they "merge" together and game makes them look normal.
This immedialtly went onto my wishlist
I really like that you can change the environment and not just build on it. Do we know if their will be water physic to worry about like rain or streams yet or if we can build a house near the coast?
Fantastic build, my guy
Looks very cozy
Wow! This game is looking better and better! Looking forward to this and also to see how the multiplayer will work here
Agreed. I wonder if it'll be like Ark and how official servers and unofficial servers.... or if it'll be host based among friends.
Omg this is so coooooool!!!! I love that theres decor too
wow! looking forward to this awesome base building game!
This just got me so damn excited

Finally- a survival game where I can build an actual hobbit hole 😁
Nice to have terraforming. Is there a water component to the terraforming?
not sure honestly!
no water for now sadly
Look forward to this possibly after Valheim building system reminds me a lot of Everquest Next Landmark. Voxel base will allow for loads of variation. I wonder if they are using the Voxel farm engine that Landmark were.
Looks superb ,
I am very much looking forward to this one as well :)
This looks promising, wishlisted
Here's hoping they add a build camera.
I can't wait to build my court yard.
Do you know how to deconstruct bulding elements other than erasing the latest few building steps?

There will be building in this game, but as a fellow Valheim player the big negative is that it's a static world. No procedural generation going on.
If this gets Workshop support it’ll be incredible

@@NotUnymous oh they made Portal Knight, I remember that game
All we need is a Dino dlc and we will finally get the ark 2 we all wanted.
Excitement
Is there PVE? Or is it mainly building?

The dirt digging and building looks similar to 7 days to die
Building looking really good in opposite to the terrible combat system.
Being a voxel-based game is awesome as well.
Bring games like this to xbox one
Looks amazing but coop only kinda kills it
16 player c0-op tho ans am sure they will do servers in future
if this fulfills all promises this will be my favorite building game, just wish they had some non human character options been getting kind of sick of always having to play as a human or human + parts
w'ell just see... 😉
Other version of conan exiles

I’m signed up for beta and hoping I get in! Got 1500 hours into Valheim and think this is my next big game
