When we listen to Zen stories the essence is lost as they are spontaneous meant for that particular individuals (as said in this video too), it's to enjoy the stories. However, it may be useful to few people to get ignited within them. I sometimes feel that Zen methods are useless to most people - they are meant for very few individuals who have already evolved to a certain level. Otherwise, other people simply waste their life with Zen methods. That's why Zen masters test the individuals who approach them.

Most people don't know that they are various dimensions to life - that survival is not the only thing - earnings is not the only thing - material living is not the only thing to do entire life - that there is a way to become deathless - to leave body at will if one wants. Life is of various dimensions including that are mysterious. So education, spiritual education is definitely required on a large scale. Later how each individual goes about it is their choice and freedom. Highest spiritual teachings like are not at all suitable for most people who are absorbed in completely material living, who have not evolved to a certain level, in fact, they are misleading to them. For eg, a drunkard will continue to be a drunkard for the entire life, a smoker will remain a smoker for the entire life. You cannot let your child eat and drink whatever they want until they grow to a certain age. Caring is required initially. There is no equality in the nature. There is no comparison either. There is diversity, but not division. Osho says everyone is unique - not equal but unique. If a person is sleeping, it is natural for a person who woke up to try to wake up the sleeping person.
