Today I heard the word 'noctilucent' for the first time in my 5+ decades. 😅 And this is just one of many reasons I am a happy subscriber to Mads' channel.
I would KILL to take such beautiful photos... and the timelapse with that one boat dreaming of big sea adventures... and the music you selected was perfect as well. I think I've only ever seen artificial noctilucent clouds (from rocket launches).
Mads, there is no substitute for knowing what you're doing. Congratulations, great video, photos, B-roll and composition explanation. So incredibly well done. Thank you for sharing. Cheers.🙏
for aspiring photographers, this is a great example of what dedication to your craft can deliver. What a wonderful episode Mads, the timelapse and the images, particularly those towards the end of the video were stunning and what a glorious night for you
Absolutely delightful photos 😃 But to be honest I still prefer the photo taken a few years back for several reasons. The orange on the left middle side is gorgeous and the diagonal shape of noctilucent clouds is really sparse (at least I haven't seen something like this yet). Thank you a lot for your video 😊
The problem with doing the "occasional" composite is that every time I see one of your photographs I wonder if it's a composite or not, and see if i can identify it as such vs. simply enjoying the beauty of the image with the subliminal knowledge that it's real ... and therefore is the fundamental reason why I don't do composites myself. But, as you imply, each to their own I guess.
Stunning images. The boats and noctilucent clouds are beyond words…kind of when we see magical pictures of outer space and earth. They, and your photos, capture the raw beauty and scale of this world and universe. Timeless ❤
Mads , the line up of the boats with the noctilucent clouds …👨🍳😘! There’s nothing like being out at night with a scene like that all to yourself …thanks for sharing! Best Art ….
Superb - your images are only beaten by your unwavering dedication and enthusiasm. And by the way, that image at 07:17 was already „big“ for the normalos like me. But yes, it got even better !
Really wonderful images, and I love your explanation of not having your subject looking away from / out of frame. We use the same concept for photographing / sketching people. Thank you for sharing!
It just kept on getting better and better as the evening went on. Not hard to see why these images could make it onto the favourite list. Thanks for sharing again Mads.
Wow! Thanks for pulling the all nighter and giving us so many great photos! While other RUclipsrs have been advertising how to get useable shots in bad midday lighting, Mads is out getting fantastic shots!
Gorgeous. Wonderful pictures and video. Noctilucent clouds form at the boundary between the atmosphere and space, above 80 km (50 miles) altitude. The presence of water vapor and temperatures cold enough to condense it in such thin atmosphere are summer, not winter phenomena (a mesospheric refrigerator effect). Their increasing frequency is considered a harbinger of climate change.
What a great experience to be out in the world, away from civilization and seeing noctilucent clouds. Here in Pennsylvania we are generally too far south to see them but I did see them, and was aware of of what I was seeing. That was about 20 years ago, and I had not seen them since. Your photos/experience is phenomenal!
Mads these images are just gnarly! What an epic shoot. I really have NEVER seen noctilucent clouds and I have been an Astrophotographer for years. Yes, my home location isn't great for the probability of seeing them.... You lucky duck. Well, you are a talented lucky duck as well. Great Images.
Your still photos of the boats from 7:47 to 9:50 are beautiful. The complimentary colors of deep blue and yellow / orange are stunning. If I were you, I'd aim for producing a noctalucent clouds calendar or book.
Lovely video & stunning images Mads. As they say, you have got to be there to even begin to get stunning pictures like this. If you don't get out there, even during these on earthly hours, you miss these stunning displays of nature. Keep up the good work.
Wonderful, what a peaceful photo! I am also wonder when we have the same situation, are we better to shot with Time-lapse then choose one from the hundred photos, rather than take photos one by one?
So looking forward to seeing the video you made here in Sweden, always interesting to see/hear how other people see the place I live in, although I think you went to Stockholm which is on the opposite coast. ❤️
Very beautiful images, and congratulations on your success! I assume it was a good decision to keep the Hasselblad X2D as it must be close to the ideal camera for this kind of demanding night work?
Hey Mads! I have a little request - could you put timestamps when you display the photos? I don't know if I'm the only one but it's an interesting data point to know which can lend itself to a lot more information for this interested - If I so desire I could see how much time before su rise you took it, what time of summer it was, the weather that day or the one before, etc, etc.
Absolutely great, very nice. How late were you busy ? Never had the opportunity to see them in Belgium. A lot of light pollution here...and maybe a little bit too much to the south.
Det er vanvittigt smukt Mads de NLC og baggrunds lyset er noget af det smukkeste jeg har set, jeg fotografer dem dem selv og bliver aldrig træt af af dem og så er det sommer og varmt.
@@MadsPeterIversen As much as I respect you as an artist - and make no mistake, I consider many of your images to be exquisitely beautiful - on this matter we’ll just have to agree to disagree. It seems to me that a photograph should represent a capture of one specific moment in time, for better or worse. I understand that we all draw these lines in different places, but I personally would have little interest in, say, combining skies and foregrounds obtained at different moments in time, however skillfully composited. The result may indeed be a beautiful image, but it is definitely not a representation of what the photographer actually experienced. If anything goes, then what truly matters?

Mads love the first image you shown of the clouds and the road with the trees arching over the road… and love the boat images too 😃👍🏻
Mads, there is no substitute for knowing what you're doing. Congratulations, great video, photos, B-roll and composition explanation. So incredibly well done. Thank you for sharing. Cheers.🙏
The images with the boats on the lake and the orange glow on the horizon are beautiful!
Some of the best photos of noctilucent clouds that I've seen.
Thanks for sharing.

Great video Mads and I think the vey last photo is absolutely spectacular!

Just stunning Mads. Simply the best.
What an amazing picture, the last one. The others are great too bit the cloud on the last one is just so awesome.

Absolutely incredible and to be able to photograph it with the Hasselblad X2D to boot
It just kept on getting better and better as the evening went on.

Great session! Last Monday I had also kind of clouds in Belgium...I made also great pictures...it's worth to get out of bed at 4.30h !!!

Lovely stuff Mads. There really is nothing like being out on your own during a night of nlc's, knowing that your bagging the shots
I wish there were lakes like this in my area for this kind of beautiful photography. There is a lot of production forest in my area. Beautiful images.
Lovely video & stunning images Mads. As they say, you have got to be there to even begin to get stunning pictures like this. If you don't get out there, even during these on earthly hours, you miss these stunning displays of nature. Keep up the good work.

Welcome to Sweden, Mads! 🇸🇪
Just signed up for your course! Thank you for the discount code.
@@jeanettflynn thank you so much, Jeanett. I hope you'll learn a lot! 🙏
Drinking game, everytime you hear noctilucent clouds during the video you have to take a shot.
That last shot is a real banger!
Wonderful, what a peaceful photo!

@@wm1502 Depends, if you do timelapse you're locked into one composition. That's why I work with at least two cameras :)
Bangers! Carry on. 👍🥂
Magical 🤩

Which weather app shows when these clouds will appear?
Absolutely great, very nice.

@@edwarddebruyn8717 basically from about mid-nautical twilight :)
What lens did you use?
please where to find good forecast about noctilucent clouds ? thanks
Well of course your photos look great. You're using a a medium format camera!
I like the photos at 7.25(ish)
Did you end up purchasing said Hasselblad?
🇪🇸 Anda majete, ve al norte de España que están los mejores paisajes del mundo, sobre todo en Asturias 🇪🇸

Gibt es aber auch schon alles. Das ist das Problem.
maybe wear a yellow jacket next time
I’m a huge fan, but I have to say as a fan that you lose me on mention of composites which, however beautiful, are not photography. See you next time.
@@michaelhall2709 composite photography is photography. It's actually twice the photography than single frame photography ;)
