Wow! What a great memory to have been in an episode from Mads! The trip far exceeded my wildest expectations, and to have the trip beautifully chronicled is quite a treat. Thanks Mads and Jeroen!
Mads , What can I say simply superb! Perhaps your best video yet !!! Maybe that’s because I was just there and your conditions were so different but your captures despite what was harsh sun are without a doubt truly AMAZING 🤯!!! Well done my friend !!!

That was totally unbelievable good photos. I will come back to this video many times. Thank you.
Absolutely gorgeous, as always.... hmm, I might not be the first who wrote this still it's true, you can't deny that! Thank you Mads for the joy, fascination and inspiration. You are representing the peak of what artful and technical mastery of landscape photography can deliver nowadays in such an amazing likeable way like almost nobody else. Thank you so much!
What an overwhelming beauty, these 'land'scapes, Mads! My favourite photo is that of the pink and green icebergs at 22:15. This video itself is a fine instance of your storytelling with the most fantastic colors, forms and moods. Pure and exciting! Bert.
Absolutely stunning images! How you describe your photography process while creating your images is truly special and very appreciated. Your aurora image including the milky way with your silhouette near the end of the video (23:43) is my favorite!
Absolutely beautiful landscapes, as always btw. Mads, you are a reference photographer for me. I would like to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH for sharing your skills, your experience and your friendly way of doing it. I follow you since years and believe me that each of your videos, IG posts, even your e-books are received with great value.
What a stunning opening to what turned out to be an outstanding video Mads. So many beautiful images it’s hard for me to pick a favourite this week but I really loved the second last image of you standing there with the aurora and stars overhead. What a memorable moment to capture
My god this planet is incredible and you capture it brilliantly Mads, the Aurora shot @23:44 with you stood there is fabulous 👌 I will get a shot of it so vivid at some point, it’s not for the lack of trying. I have a few images of it from the centre of England where I live but never from numerous trips to Orkney or Iceland, one day conditions will play ball and I will be in the right place at the right time 🤞gorgeous Vlog 👍
On handheld I use exposure bracketing. Then i can get close as posible to the best exposure vs shutterspeed. When you get blurry on those with the most exposure, the lesser exposure are sharp. Just get the best out your situatin.
These photos are incredible - but the best on in my opinion is you in front of Aurora and Milky Way and the reflection in the pond. this would bei great photo for the wall! I am so impressed, although I follow you already several years.
Brilliant images and video Mads. I'll certainly add a trip like this to my bucket list and make sure you are there because the best conditions always follow you 😆
Nice video of beautiful Greenland! A little word of warning regarding creating HDR panoramas/focus stacking. I've found that, at least when shooting handheld, any small movement between the frames can leave you with weird artifacts when using auto HDR and/or auto-align/blend in photoshop/camera raw. Always check the masks after using auto-blend in photoshop! Sometimes I find Photoshop using unsharp portions of a frame as if it was sharp, when another frame is actually sharper. Not easy to spot at first glance but suuuper annoying finding that out when you're done processing. Also scan the blended result for weird, unsharp, areas that doesn't fit with your expectations. Sometimes you're better off doing the blending manually.
Mads, have you crashed a drone yet, and if so was it a total loss such as into the drink? Were others also flying and did you have problems of getting clean shots without other drones bombing your compositions? Terrific work in this video!
@@rphandler long time ago in 2016 I had Phantom 3 standard that just dropped out of the sky - total loss. In 2019 I ran out of battery with my first Mavic 2 pro and it force landed on a mountain top, but besides those instances I still have all my drones. It's never been an issue having other peoples drones in my photos. If they're visible I just clone them out.
Lots of great tips in there - thanks! :) I thought turning off image stabilisation while using a tripod was a thing of the past, at least for new cameras. I've done back-to-back testing on both my modern Sony bodies and notice zero difference in completely still conditions and if there is any sort of breeze, having stabilisation on improved sharpness markedly.
Hello Mads! Thank you for another inspirational video! When focus stacking, is it important to set WB to something else but auto, because some photos might be way too different?
Hi Mads. I’m curious if you use lens filters when taking photos, such as CPL or ND filters, and how strong they are. You don’t mention them at all in your videos. If you do use filters, I would appreciate it if you could make a video on this topic as well. Thank you. Wonderful video. Have a great day.

Generally for the IBIS it's less of an issue, but it can mis-interpret whether the camera is moving or not and compensate for nothing, so you can end up with a blurred photo when shooting on a tripod. I have also experienced it to wobble, but that was only on my older a7R3.
Hello Mads. I see you have switched from a Sony FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS lens to a Tamron 28-200 f/2.8-5.6 lens. Is the quality of image comparably? How often does the difference between 24 and 18mm bite? Thanks.
