Found this channel last week. I don’t know jack about cars and have minimal interest in them. I’ve probably watched 75 videos over the last 7 days because you are such a great story teller, and I still have no idea what you’re talking about lol
Man I would love it If I could earn money like in old school racing game. Like no expenses other than tuning my car and then one race gives me 10.000€. The best part is I don't even loose money if i don't win.
except you might want to actually have money (at least 20% of your dream car) saving money is good but investing wisely is the #1. it actually makes you money on top of your savings you use to invest. im saying this as someone who started investing with $500 CAN couple mounths ago and im amazed at how much money i made. fomoco and canadian banks and weed make for so much money. I decided to buy a '10 -'13 stick shift camaro ss next spring with part of my savings. That or something like a 70 monte carlo which will hold/gain value (better than my 81 camaro). I can get 6% yearly dividends from fomoco stocks so if they are willing to finance for lower intererest... go figure.
I'm going to save close to 20k this years and next year and make thousands on the stock market, with a tax free savings account. until I get close to 250K. Remember more capital=more capital gains/time. Currently I make hundreds a week on stocks with less than 2k in that account. I'm more of a muscle car fan but with close to 1/2 million theres no reason not to have a 2 years finance on a stick shift V12 Ferrari.
Having recently bought my realistic dream car 1 week ago today, I can say do this: Work hard Save hard Be patient ( I waited 2 years to be in the right position, and 4 months for the right car/spec ) Do your research, then do it again, and keep doing it. Enjoy it, and look after it. ALWAYS have a backup stash, things creep up and can be expensive! Car is a 2017 Lotus Exige Sport 350 :)
Congrats mate! And good choice of car, it's not gonna depreciate through the floor on you, if anything you could break even or potentially make money depending on certain factors.

I saw a lot of people being told to never get a credit card in high school. Those people will never live in a nice house or drive a nice car because they never bothered to develop a credit score. The American system is designed for those who have credit. Things are way too expensive to save up and buy in cash. You are not going to save for 25 years and buy a house it just isn’t going to happen.
@@domnoya4130 yes, a house you do need a mortgage for because you need somewhere to live while you're paying it off. But everything else? I don't think so. Save up, then buy your TV. Save up, then buy your computer. Buy a cheap old car, and while you're driving that around save up for a few years and then buy the nicer one. People who live off of credit aren't used to checking if they can afford something before they buy it.

The last sentence is so true... the dream and the journey to get to the purchase point is such a blast, often more fun then the ownership. Once you get your dream car it becomes a reality you can’t escape from (for a while at least) with lots of responsibilities and further expenditures attached. Some great advise there Ed 👍🏼
Just recently stumbled upon this channel and I was mainly focusing on Ed's stories for a while. His voice, rhythm of speech and let's say, his alternate ways to describe the "slight imperfections" of his clients pretty much got me hooked on this. Since I'm working as a sales manager, I noticed the way he talks to his clients or the people he's buying cars from and I started to apply his way of gently persuading people at work and in life. So a few things here that I wanted to note. As a financial professional, increasing your credit limit does NOT increase your credit score. This is a common misunderstanding I've found. Moreover, having larger limits on your credit cards or line of credit can actually decrease your chances of getting approved. This is due to the Gross Debt Services and Total Debt Services (GDS/TDS) formulas that underwriters and retail banks use to determine whether someone's annual income is supported with a new loan (e.g a 300k supercar). Now it's important that if you are typically nearing your credit limit every month, or even exceeding it, then you should indeed increase your credit limit so you do not pay any extra penalties for exceeding said limit. This is a great informative video, I just don't want anyone receiving any wrong information on how credit bureaus and debt approvals work.
The esteemed Mr Bolian may be one of the greatest auto story tellers of our time. The way he unravels automotive stories, knowledge and general common sense advice with his velvety baritone voice coupled with a very dry and for all intents and purposes coy sarcastic humour is really refreshing and captivating. I needed to hear this i thought the buying process was somewhat hard but after hearing this it’s super hard and extra but will be worth it waking up to your dream car every day
1.) build credit 2.) Get a car loan 3.) avoid depreciation 4.) don’t modify your car 5.) build a relationship with a dealership 6.) start saving early 7.) get a mortgage 8.) be able to prove your income 9.) learn how to present yourself 10.) Target the right cars
Buy everything on credit. You should never buy a car in full. With the money you save from financing instead of buying a car in full price, I reimburse the money into my business and make the money work for me to gain 4x return on the money that I would've spent that buying that car. In this way, buying a car "makes me money". Plus, when I resell, i'll get most of the money or profit from reselling.
I have no dreams of grandeur to ever own an exotic vehicle, but I do appreciate a story from "Ed, like the horse". I nominate that lad named "Do it with Dan" to tell some of his stories on your set as I think he is from the Atlanta area as well. It will probably sound like, "Bleep-bleep-bleep, motorcycle", but I noticed a lot of the people here are on the same Ant Abduction schedule. Mr. Regular would be awesome as well.

This is THE best very concise advice that I have seen so far on building your personal credit. Thanks a ton for this and ALL your videos! What a great channel!
Little tid bit about building credit: you don't HAVE to pay off your cards every month. You just need to make regular (not minimum, but regular) payments and never be late on them. After a year or so of doing that and making car payments, I had beyond what is considered "excellent credit".
I feel blessed with the car interests I have, most of my dream cars are heavily depreciated right now, so I can get the cars I want with the money I have now, and hold them over the years while slowly getting them to where I want. I can't be convinced not to modify my cars, that's just me, but I don't ever plan to sell them off so it doesn't matter really.
This guy just inspired me to dream of my future Porsche GT(X)... I've had my eyes on many different exotics as potential candidates but I think the childhood dream car is really what will tick the box every time.
“10 realities people who dream of owning an exotic car don’t want to hear.” Great advice - but being practical and conservative spending is about the polar opposite behavior a lot of “exotics dreamers” want to hear, which is why most stay dreamers and not owners. I followed these steps and now I can proudly say: I should be able to afford my son’s college tuition. Doh! Step 11: if you really want that exotic car, don’t have kids! Hahaha
Woah! Woah! Woah! I thought I was watching a car channel not a personal finance channel. Solid advice though! I wish more people in my generation understood all of this. Great work!
Awesome advice. Have a fun story for my "baby's first exotic" with our Aston Martin Vantage and will be doing the process again for a Lotus Elise in the future. Already starting to plan and scheme for something much more exotic in the future but it was a life goal fulfillment to bring home and tuck an AM into the garage.
This video should be on the play list of every high school grad and college student. We have tried and failed to convince a junior university student and her mom that her child needs credit. She will attend Law school and graduate from that and not be able to get a apartment without a guarantor for it. That maybe be extreme, but we are closest relative and have helped her with utilities and other things where she had no credit history. Not complaining we do it because we care. This is so relevant today as people are staying home longer with their parents.
I bought bitcoin late 2016 and cashed most of it out in December 2017 to write a check for my dream car. New Tesla Model S! I let anyone drive it who wants to drive it and will talk to anyone as long as they want about Tesla. :-)
Funny thing is when I was 25, I wanted an exotic so bad. I used to browse car sales websites (cars, Autotrader, etc), and I would set my budget limit and think "one day!" So I worked hard to build my small business, investing, and forking money away into stock accounts. Now I'm 40, and I can pretty much afford any exotic car I want "cash", no financing needed. But I drive a Tesla Model S now, and even this car I thought was way, way more than I wanted to spend LOL. I have very little desire now to buy a Ferrari, Lambo, or Aston. I buy Condos, apartments, land, graded sports cards, and precious metals now. I don't know what changed that much in the past 15 years, but it just did.
Such a timely upload. My wife and I are buying our first "fun" car this week. Glad to see that our strategy follows several of your points listed in this video. Great content as always!

**Ed for president**
I would vote for him. He live in. Georgia so he is probs Republican like me
This guy just inspired me to dream of my future Porsche GT(X)... I've had my eyes on many different exotics as potential candidates but I think the childhood dream car is really what will tick the box every time.
“10 realities people who dream of owning an exotic car don’t want to hear.”
Great advice - but being practical and conservative spending is about the polar opposite behavior a lot of “exotics dreamers” want to hear, which is why most stay dreamers and not owners.
I followed these steps and now I can proudly say: I should be able to afford my son’s college tuition. Doh! Step 11: if you really want that exotic car, don’t have kids! Hahaha
Stephen E my dad is a multi millionaire and didn’t pay for my college good dad you are
Very well put together. Finally, a RUclipsr that makes logical statements. Loved it!
That first sentence in the beginning of the video 😂😂😂
This video is one of the best videos on RUclips about this topic. Instant sub!

Ed is amazing! This man has an extensive wealth of knowledge in so many fields...it's very impressive
Ed gets an invite to the hood cookouts every time
Woah! Woah! Woah! I thought I was watching a car channel not a personal finance channel. Solid advice though! I wish more people in my generation understood all of this. Great work!
Yuriy it applies to all generation. It should be taught in school.
Rev up your Bugatti! 🏎🔥🔥🔥💨

Who are you and why do I see you everyday on several channels?
Kristiun no u
No one is talking about the sheer greatness that is the sound of Ed's voice
Ha There were a lot of comments like that in the very beginning of the channel.
I admire your knowledge 😀
Awesome advice. Have a fun story for my "baby's first exotic" with our Aston Martin Vantage and will be doing the process again for a Lotus Elise in the future. Already starting to plan and scheme for something much more exotic in the future but it was a life goal fulfillment to bring home and tuck an AM into the garage.
Right now, somewhere, Dave Ramsey is puking his guts out listening to this
This video should be on the play list of every high school grad and college student.

Ed's first line made me laugh out loud
Same
Then they cut the punch line from the video!
Great advice from a great guy & story teller. To say your videos are A-1 it’s a understatement!
Ed Bolian may be the mortal enemy of Dave Ramsey haha
Such a timely upload. My wife and I are buying our first "fun" car this week. Glad to see that our strategy follows several of your points listed in this video. Great content as always!
