Correction she was 14, when she record this in March of 1997, she turn 15, in August 1997.

That song scared the hell out of me because I could have sworn it was Patsy Cline singing it. I heard a rumor that Blue was written for Patsy, but she died before she could do anything with it.

This woman was putting out some hits in her teens! She really doesn't get the respect she deserves (due to her personal life). But true fans will forever follow her.

Her record company was so cold blooded. She was only 15 years old and they gave this song to Trish Yearwood too. They both released it and because she was so young they promoted Yearwood's version as the official version. Le Ann's version was the fan favorite.
No it wasn’t the fan favourite. It was just her own release just like Trisha’s was her own release. Trisha’s was way more popular and was on the con air soundtrack
@AussieGirl235 it was neither one's "own" release. They were both released by the same record company. It sounds like you just want to be argumentative. Rimes' version was much more popular. It sold more and got much more air time. You don't know what you're talking about. You must be a Democrat.
I can't believe she was only 14 when she did this song. That's amazing talent right there.
She was absolutely one of the greatest female singers of my childhood. And that's saying a lot I grew up on Reba, Martina, Shania, and Le Ann. She was so young blue is still my fave song by her.
This song was the love theme for the movie Con Air. The producers thought she was too young to do justice to such a deep song and picked an older artist to do the song for the movie. But LeAnn connected so much to the song that she released her own version (this) that blew the other version out of the water!
I actually much prefer Trisha Yearwood's version over LeAnn's .. the way she sings "how do I leeeev" without you just sounds ridiculous.
they also had trisha do her version without telling leann. So when trisha released her version to country radio leann released hers to pop radio and both had success with it.
I think they both were great but Trisha had a gravitas to hers. I also (like others have said) didn’t love “how do I leeeave without you” and “without choo”. Drives me nuts. But I do adore LeAnn in all other of her songs. She was on The Masked Singer, too.
If you compare the two songs which you obviously have they’re both great but Trisha Yearwood version is a better song and proof is all the awards it won compared to the Lee and rhymes version.
@@williamcalderon9158 Trisha's version was part of a soundtrack and was eligible for more awards and more widely distributed. Number of awards doesn't mean better it just means popular especially with most U.S. award shows. Alison Krauss has 27 grammy's and Dolly Parton has like 11 that doesn't make Alison better than Dolly.
She won last years The Masked Singer. She was the sun. You should listen to her from the show. It shows how good she truly is. She also does a killer live version of Unchained Melody. She charted with her very first song at age 13 called "Blue".
LeeAnn is known to have perfect pitch.
She's one of the best female vocalists in the world.

Leann is next level y’all. Check out her a cappella version of amazing grace in a church.... heavenly. And her performances on the masked singer are great as well. She won that season as the sun.

Leann recorded this song in March 1997, she was 14 years-old. Other great Leann songs are Commitment, Nothin' Bout Love Makes Sense, Now I Do Love You, Can't Fight the Moonlight, I Need You, Life Goes On. She's got a great version of the Righteous Brothers Unchained Melody, Ottis Reddings These Arms of Mine, Prince's Purple Rain is a knockout, and live version of Hank Williams I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry - also at 14 years old. Oh and You Light Up My Life (Debbie Boone). I see that you also reacted to Blue. Also her acappella version of Amazing Grace will blow you away.

Years ago, while living in Garland Texas, where Leann is/was from, I meant her. I worked at an Albertsons grocery store as a cashier there. The management allowed her to park her tour bus in the parking lot during the holiday season. Well she and a small entourage, came through my line one evening. I knew she was someone famous, but I couldn't place her. She was very friendly towards me, smiling the entire time. After she was finished, I happened to see a country music magazine behind me, with her photo on the cover. That's when I realized who she was...
The one thing I got from my DAD was a appreciation for ALL music ! Me and my brothers used to sit on the couch and he would play records from all types of music !
You grew up w all genres like I did...very happy for you all...wasa blessing I know....my grandfather used to bring home stacks of regular LP records from garage sales when I was growing up...I had all genres to listen to too, except I fall short on R & B, but learning lol
LeAnn and Carrie Underwood have 2 of the purest, most crystal clear voices in recent county music. And their range is vocal control is phenomenal!

A beautiful song sung by a beautiful woman. Her voice is just amazing. I feel that this song can mean other things other than being romantically in love. To me it reminds me of my best friend who passed away last year. He and I were always just best friends, nothing romantic. I loved him so much and miss him every day. He was a huge LeAnn fan, so it makes sense this song touches me. I did not think I would survive when he passed. I felt like I could not breathe, was in tears constantly, miserable. So this song was like me asking him "How Do I Live Without You?" Time healed the pain, but never the memory.
This woman was belting out these songs in that phenomenal voice IN HER TEENS. She is a native of DFW

@@albertoaguirre1101 she moved to the DFW area when she was about 6 years old so she is pretty much a Texan. I actually knew some of her relatives in Pearl Ms back in the 90s.

Another great song by the song writer Diane Warren! She's written hits for SO many artists! i.e. "If I Could Turn Back Time" (Cher, 1989), "Because You Loved Me" (Celine Dion, 1996), and "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" (Aerosmith, 1998). "How Do I Live" was written for the movie Con Air starring Nicholas Cage.
She is one of my all time favs she has one of the most powerful voices in the industry period okay her song called The Story also she wrote a song for her husband Eddie C now omg it's an incredible song love u guys

This was the first slow dance with the man who became my husband ... way back in 1998. We married in 2002. He passed away 2020. (FYI - Leanne Rims was only 16, I think, when this came out.

This girl was 15 when she recorded this and just one a grammy a year early at 14 this is a rare gem no one will ever be like her.
Her voice is out of this world in every way. In the Arms of The Angel by Sarah McCloughlin is also another beautiful song and artist without enough recognition.

This great performance, reminds me of another great performance, by Whitney Houston"s "I will always love you". This song was written/sung by Dolly Parton, when she wanted to end her time being with Porter Wagoner on his show. He is the one who introduced Dolly to the world.
