- IN PREPARATION FOR THE ARRIVAL OF BULL ELEPHANT PRINCE, WE BEGAN WHAT WE CALLED A GAME OF "MUSICAL ELEPHANTS" -- NICHOLAS WILL MOVE TO OUR NEWLY-COMPLETED THIRD BULL BARN DONATED BY BOB BARKER; SABU WILL MOVE TO THE BARN FORMERLY OCCUPIED BY NICHOLAS; AND SABU'S BARN WILL BE READIED FOR PRINCE.
NICHOLAS, WHO LOVES ANY NEW ADVENTURE, WAS THRILLED WITH HIS NEW DIGS AND ADAPTED IMMEDIATELY. EVERYONE WATCHED WITH GREAT AMUSEMENT AS NICHOLAS ROLLED IN HIS NEW DIRT STALL AND FELL ASLEEP!

He just looks so happy on his dirt bed. It looks like he's smiling, too. What extraordinary trust from Nick and love from his caregivers. Beautiful to see.

yes thank you Bob Barker! Interesting to watch how cautiously he did everything he could to make sure he was safe before entering each new part of the barn. I like your explanation of the importance of earth to elephants - how he loved it! Lucky elephant....wish they could all experience such freedom and pleasure. Bob barker is a very generous person and is an animal lover for sure!
Nicholas was SO lucky to have arrived at PAWS at such a young age, and didn't have to suffer years of zoo and circus captivity. Lucky young adolescent Bull ele. So glad PAWS is able to take bulls
He looks to be in prime condition! You guys are obviously taking excellent care of him! A joy to watch, hope he will meet a few females later on or actually be in a herd with his own ladies
Nic seems like the mischievous child that's always into things and Subu seems so laid back and chilled out ..can't wait to see what Prince is like....do they ever interact with eachother thru the fencing? Happy days, happy days....

@KrystyneY Sabu is still in quarantine, but he and Nicholas can see each other, and they do vocalize. Once Sabu is clear of quarantine, we will allow them to be closer to see if they might be compatible.
It says a lot about how much he trusts his people with his safety that he laid down and fell asleep in completely new digs.

Definitely not a criticism...just curious, why couldn’t Prince just go into the available one...why the move?
Why would you want to pu all the bull elephants into barns that smell of some other bull elephant?
Do they get to spend time together, Sabu and Nicholas? I know Asain males are generally solitary, but they sometimes travel in small groupings. Do Sabu and Nicholas talk?
