Having just sat through a few hours of old Late Show clips, I'm surprised Rob Sitch is not mentioned more often as one of Australia's great comedians. He's fucking great.
good evidence you've hit it big when the Australia's primo comedians of the day take the piss out of you! The Sharp rock! and hopefully more folks will discover how good they were by way of this parody
@Booyaka9000 I just saw The Sharp's 'Scratch My Back' - The guitarist didn't look smug at all. But how much funnier is it that Rob Sitch is acting like a smug douche in the video.
Full frontal was garbage, The late show and Fast Forward where an extended cast of the D gen and Comedy Company had some good stuff for the time but it all want to shit with Full frontal
I know he is not actually playing it but................does Santo have some drumming experience? He hits the crash cymbal at one point without looking at it!
“I’ve got one which is brown, And this old hand-me-down. One that’s brown gold and green, I got it in grade 3!” Piss take on how almost every school in the 70’s & 80’s had scivvies in school colours.
Most favourite parody of the Sharp song, Rob nailed the imitation.

I know right - I revisit the late show every other year - his impressions 😂😂
Champagne comedian
One of Australia’s greatest contributors to the comedic arts.
Not based on this.
Hey, look! It's the guy from Mister Mister!
Bring back The Late Show!!!
He'll yes!!!
YESSSS
Holy shit! I just realised, Santo can actually play! Fuck yeah Santo!
Same
"This song is not profound...we just piss fart around" - just gold! 🤣🤣
Rob Sitch is an hungry hungry scene chewer! HE! IS! A MACHINE!

One of the shows best parodies. Awesome to see this again. Thanks for sharing.
Santo's air drumming is excellent!

Come back, Late Show. We need you.
Tonga
😂😂😂
More views on RUclips than the song they parodied!
I miss the sketch comedy shows like- The Late Show, Comedy Company, Fast Forward, Full Frontal etc.
The Music Video pisstakes were great!! :)
Full frontal was garbage, The late show and Fast Forward where an extended cast of the D gen and Comedy Company had some good stuff for the time but it all want to shit with Full frontal
Is it just my imagination, or is Santo actually playing the drums? I didn't know he could play.
I actually think he can play the drums, from memory.
They used his drum kit in the Wild Men skit.
Looks like he has some chops. :)
OMG so good!
I've got one which is brown......and they don't let me down.........
Pretty sure it's "... and this old hand-me-down"
I know he is not actually playing it but................does Santo have some drumming experience? He hits the crash cymbal at one point without looking at it!
It’s funny how this has way more views than the original song
Coz the original was shite
This actually sounds better than the original
Looks like Santo can actually play the drums!
I think the blond hair suits Rob
Santos just doing his own version of the drumming though, no sync. (there's my daily NO SH1T SHERLOCK! remark done)-
"this song is not profound" 😂😂😂 Brilliant.
@chrisz61 As far as I know, he does.

That's what I thought it said, but apparently it's "This one's from Golden Breed." 😂
@@aw_1977 I see. I had to Google Golden Breed. “Iconic surf wear”. Hadn’t heard of them. Thanks. Have learned something today!
The only time when the parody is actually better than the real thing.
Triple the views of the original too!
I've remembered this since I first saw it around '93, but couldn't even remember what the original was called!
@@kenjarbyonly because the original was removed and reuploaded
brilliant
Does anyone know, is this the Sharp's actual kit & double bass etc they are using? Certainly looks like.
The double bass was made by the ABC art department and according to Jase the thing weighed a ton.
@@EddieGaster and the kit is close, but the wrong cymbal brand
“This ones from Golden Breed”
Got it in Grade 3!
It looks like a plywood mockup.
I never realised how much the canned laughter obscures the lyrics in these skits and makes it difficult to appreciate the humour.
leo sayer on bass..
These guys were so funny on D-Gen / Late Show, and so incredibly un-funny on The Panel (especially Santo).
Who dislikes like this? The Sharp and their mum?
from whence comedy was innocent
I've virtually forgotten the original title of the song because of this skit.
this song is not profound
..."we just piss fart around!"
Better than the original
