- An elderly tea lady is brought in for questioning.Over some dodgy cheques she put through.Not a favourite edition of mine but fun in places.Patricia Hayes and Ray Smith guest star.Funny seeing Ray with a fuller head of hair,than his fairly shaved head look in Dempsey and Makepeace a few years after this.First episode with Tony Caunter as DCI Logan also which is good.
Best car chase ever. Harker on the moped was hilarious!

This is my first time seeing this U.K. TV series - when it was first aired, I grew up in Rural Ireland and it was never shown on our national broadcaster RTÉ - my Dad, a staunchly traditional Irish Catholic, would not put up an outside antenna, insisting on the old “rabbits ears” as he did not like the “dirty Protestant” U.K. TV channels - I’ve lived here in the U.K. 23 years now, but I still have family in the same village in Rural Ireland where I grew up and I visit them as often as I can 🇮🇪☘️🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

i had an allegro, oblong steering wheel, it was red, but however much you t-cut it, within a week the paint was matt and rough !!!

My Dad used to do like 40 miles an hour down his own lane between the London traffic jam and the kerb 1966 in his Mini-Cooper S the size of a large roller skate. Had to give it up and drive the Morris Minor 1000 after his 3rd heart attack.

And both leading actresses Stephanie Turner and Anna Carteret were fantastic
Stephanie Turner studied a lady inspector and had her to a tee.
She was very good and worked well with David Ellison.
Not forgetting that great theme tune

Yes, they had to write her out in series 2 due to contractual problems. Apparently she wanted more money and a bigger part in the series.

Liking this series very much, fits the classic detective/copper series. I hope you have more to share, and thank you very much for doing so.
The tea lady later played the travelling woman in heartbeat, whose caravan was burnt down.
Well Patricia Hayes is who plays the part here.Not having seen a full Heartbeat episode I guess she may have been in it at some point.

Allegro plus Vicar versus moped..... this could only have been written by someone who'd actually been in the Job!
Ironically it was written by the same bloke who created The Sweeney - Ian Kennedy Martin. He created The Sweeney and its lead character Jack Regan specifically for John Thaw, however he wanted The Sweeney to be slower paced and mainly studio based and eventually lost out to Ted Childs who wanted a fast paced action drama shot on film and mainly on location. Ted Childs won the battle and took over as the executive producer for The Sweeney tv series following the Armchair Theatre pilot episode "Regan".
Truly appreciate 🙏 all the old classics and absolutely love your channel. You don't happen to have the best episode of Juliet Bravo as far as I'm concerned, entitled THE RUNNER from series 1. Dave

It's highly similar to the Keifer Sutherland 48 Hours interrogations except different.

No definetly not.Ray Smith in that was Dempsey and Makepeace's boss in that series.Don't know actor's name in Father Ted but it wasn't him.
I agree with him,music is alive and i think Americans steal it for their thrill shows. Mistrey movie and the one of the motorbikes i forgotvits name.we used to watch American shows and never British in my country.

What you mean the theme music is too good for it?.There's a backhanded compliment if ever there was one.
My question is British police are very shown very polite with accused in only TV series, unlike Indian police are very brutal with accused as we Indian countinue to follow 125 years Britain's colonial police acts ,now called I.P.C. Indian penal code & charge sheet is called F.I.R. first information report.
