Well Done Sir!! I was there on a bus trip, wanted to walk the beach, but didn't have time - I am sure I would not have noticed what you did, but I totally remember wanting to checkout the surrounding beach area! :)
I was just there this summer, what a cool place. Skata Brae and Maes Howe were just awesome places to visit. It's too bad I was there on a Sunday and the Ness (sp?) was closed. But... I still got to walk around the Ring of Brodgar and that was impressive.
The Ness dig is over now and it will be backfilled as if it was never there. I have a film on the channel about Brodgar, looking at its underlying rope geometry.
@@HistoryFuzzPodcast I watched that last night... I thought that was really interesting. I certainly get this issue. I was an archaeologist - well, archaeological field technician - and saw first hand what happens when measuring devices. (Mostly interestingly when you have a tape measure with meters on one side and feet in engineering rule on the other and little to distinguish between them.) As they say, errors to add, they multiple.
Thanks for watching this film. Liking it, and subscribing to my channel, will help me get ahead on RUclips, so thanks in advance!
Great find!
It sure is! For all we know it could be Skara Brae 2.0.
Ooh! Exciting!
So much so, thinking about what might be beneath that sand dune keeps me awake, often!
Ok. I already want to go to Scotland. You are not helping me avoid this. Great video. Amazing place. Kentucky US here.
Thanks for dropping in Kentucky. If you do go to Scotland don’t waste time in the cities. Get north! As far as you can.
@HistoryFuzzPodcast interestingly enough, that is exactly the plan. I can almost feel it an ocean away.

Thank you. Let’s see what comes from it. Did you see the reconstructed house when you were there?
@@HistoryFuzzPodcast If you mean on the beach, no. The beach looked pretty, and empty but I knew there must be more..10 yrs ago :(
@@nodigBKMichethere is a reconstructed house at the visitor center. It’s spectacular and really let’s you get a feel for how our ancestors lived.
