      So many thousands of regional bands are relegated to the dustbin of history, yet we're still talking about this one 40 years later. Some groups which have even breached the top 40 would be so lucky.

      @@thejasonknightfiascoband5099 If you love music why compare your favorite to everyone else's?...While this version lacks the energy of the final one, this band rocked like nobody else! Original, unique, talented musicians played like they'd been together for decades...No album I can think of gives me such joy! OMG the energy! They made only 1 album and some change and people still want more 40(?) years later!! IMHO they were THE BEST punk band, and one of the best bands ever! I want more!
      Thanks for "more!" My fav is He's my boyfriend.

      They checked out too early. I would have worshiped this band, but here in small-town Missouri? Nobody knew. Literally went until recently, never heard of them-never met anyone who did.

    • @feltongailey8987
      @feltongailey8987 2 года назад

      Not that obscure. I mean, Ferris Bueller had a poster of them on his bedroom wall. Maybe he was obscure too. To be real though, most people probably did not notice this small detail and even if they gave it a second thought, just shrugged it off as a prop.
      I like singing Helter Skelter and inserting Flavor Crystals in its place or vice versa.

    Genius! I remember at the time as a kid that they should been as least as big as Devo/B52's. They also had a 'Menacing Charme' which those bands didn't have. Plus pure punk ethic of 'make a record then bugger off and do something else'

    I think Su and Frankie were lovers. The bass player and drummer performed every song with this razor type of precision. The guitars would be quick, short & jagged.
    Sue would grab the mic and bend down like she had to pee. Then she would return the mic to the stand and twist uncomfortably upward trying to sing into it.
    It definitely had a special Olympics quality about it.

      I surf the half historic notes on the webs....nothing found about the band falling apart,
      lots of the event being an art project with a definite start and plan for an end...the
      venues/shows with Fear, X, the Screamers, the Germs, the reputation of performing
      hit without any problems. Not arguing with your observation, maybe the flesh of the
      thing, the rest of the story, needs your details. All the band members contributed in
      varied instruments, vocals, and performance direction.

      They met in college. Founded in 1978 in Long Beach, California, they were lead singer Su Tissue (aka Sue McLane), bassist/singer Vex Billingsgate (Billy Ranson), lead guitarist John Gleur (John McBurney), rhythm guitarist/singer Frankie Ennui (Rick Whitney) and drummer Chuck Roast (Chas Rodriguez). Frank Zappa said they were his all time favorite band. They broke up in 1983, but each went on to form other groups.
