Many people will watch this and just laugh - I don't know if anyone older or younger than our 80's era can truly understand - but my inner 6 year-old is giddy at this!
I was 7 years old when this aired. This was amazing then and still is now! Omg if I was there in person I would’ve lost my damn mind! I dressed as He-Man for Halloween in 1983 and 1984!
I remember this back in 1985 and I was an 80s kid I wanted to join up with He-Man and She Ra and I was jumping up and down when I saw this as a kid. I was about 8 yrs old and freaking out over this float and Rainbow Brite and GI Joe, and the things I grew up in. I miss the 80s so much it was an awesome decade b/c of the cartoons I grew up with JEM & THE HOLOGRAMS, GI JOE MY LITTLE PONY SMURFS HE MAN SHE RA, GARFIELD, BARBIE, THE LITTLES,
There's no way I could ever forget this parade--specifically because of this float! I remember distinctly the 1984 parade was on a beautiful, sunny day and the floats were all sweetness and honey. This year the rains came and, appropriately, the Masters of the Universe float premiered :)
I remember being 8 yrs old and jumping up and down as a kid watching She Ra and He Man and Skeltor and that float was impressive and I was a huge fan of He Man & She Ra and I have both of DVDs and they had Care Bears and Rainbow Brite and Snoopy and all the 80s cartoon characters come to live when I was a kid. The Macy's parade was so great when I saw it.that was magic to me. I wanted He Man to be my big brother. Remember GI Joe and Transformers.
That was AWESOME and that was 30 years ago! Where did all those amazing floats go? This year the floats were just platforms for singers. I miss those old days.
I don't remember this Macy's Parade, but I DEFINITELY remember that Crystal Castle commercial, and my older brother and I having the castle AND the falls set. 💖
This did justice to the legendary Mattel Toyline. Wish I could relive this decade all over again. Someone please build a time machine for me please. ASAP!!!
I loved being a kid in the 1980s! Toy companies went apeshit with merchandising and branding like they never had before. It pissed off parents but we as kids enjoyed so many fun and imaginative toy lines.
I remember this as a kid 8 yrs old jumping and down cheering for She Ra and He Man this was so cool to see and I wish we could have seen this in real life. I would jumped on that float and helped HE MAN and She Ra and they did Rainbow Brite this was so cool to see. Back in the days when things were simple and the 80s people had jobs and were alive unlike today.
I totally remember this. As much as I got all excited about this float. I was also hoping for a Transformers float as well but alas it didn't happen. Dammit.
I honestly don't remember this (to be fair, I was like 4 years old at the time), but I wish I did. I certainly remember watching this parade growing up though.
Nice choice of music. "Why pay big bucks to commission new music, hire an orchestra, and record it? 'Night on Bald Mountain' is out of copyright, and there are lots of recordings of it." He Man was voiced by John Irwen, who also voiced Morris the Cat, in 9 Lives commercials. She Ra was voiced by Melendy Britt.
I remember how great this all was back in the day and everyone was living the American Dream. We had shopping malls and great music stories and tower Records and Blockbuster and now its all gone and the new generation doesn't know anything they would laugh at this. I wish I could go back in time and re live this era but its gone now and the American Dream is dead and everything sucks now. Thank god I don't have any kids. I wouldn't want them in school especially now.
Sajak did a terrible into of it...he didn't know how to sell it! Needed an 80's wrestling manager like Jim Cornette to cut a promo on what was going on!
Those were happier more innocent times... I'm still horrified and sickened by the new She-Ra series. Absolute abomination. The original from the 80's is the only real She-Ra!
Back when the Macy's parade was more than just back to back teen pop singers.
Guess they're just cheaper
Nothing makes me happier than hearing Pat Sajak talk about He-Man characters.
Likewise
Can I have a V Pat? Sure, theres one of them.
I have come to believe modern day sajak is a comedy genius in disguise
Many people will watch this and just laugh - I don't know if anyone older or younger than our 80's era can truly understand - but my inner 6 year-old is giddy at this!
Agreed, THIS is what made me want those toys as a kid AND remember them as I get older too.
Zapruder1984 I’m 43 ,& this is still an awesome spectacle to behold.
I am 40 and I have tears in my eyes of joy. What a delight.
I was 7 years old when this aired. This was amazing then and still is now! Omg if I was there in person I would’ve lost my damn mind! I dressed as He-Man for Halloween in 1983 and 1984!

I don't think "Night on Bald Mountain" has ever been accompanied by images as iconic as this!
Aside from Disney's Fantasia though, c'mon. That's how I first heard it.
I was 9 when I saw this on a scale of 1 to 10 definite infinity. Thank you for sharing this, the 80s had the power.
They 80s really did have the power
Those costumes and floats were pretty impressive
They even put Moss Man there! Awesomeness.
Probably be the most comfortable character to dress as in that weather LOL!
That's my father is the Moss Man costume. ^___^ True story.
I KNOW
@@MrXemnas1992 awesome!!!

Mind official BLOWN !!!!!!!!!
Can't believe that they included so many different characters !!!
Awesome : )
I love this I remember this when I was a kid and I jumped up and down when I saw this and I loved She RA - HE MAN!
Skeletor's entrance is monumental.
This float was the most excited I’ve ever been for anything in Macys parade
Better costumes than the movie.
They should have been IN the movie. Beast Man spot on
Nice cosplay
Skeletor and Beats man look FUCKING EPIC, but He-Man looks.....
Like a Wal-Mart Halloween costume
it's crazy this float was better than the movie
If I was the guy in the Orko costume there wouldn't be a day that would go by that I wouldn't pull out this tape and force people to watch it!
that maybe makes me think you were the guy in the Orko costume.
And Halloween EVERY YEAR
I remember being 8 yrs old and jumping up and down as a kid watching She Ra and He Man and Skeltor and that float was impressive and I was a huge fan of He Man & She Ra and I have both of DVDs and they had Care Bears and Rainbow Brite and Snoopy and all the 80s cartoon characters come to live when I was a kid. Wow! That Orko costume is just Perfect!
I miss things like this. Brings back good movies, like with the 1989 Marvel Universe Thanksgiving Parade float sequence.
Thanks for sharing. Sure beats the country pop lip synch floats that dominate the modern Thanksgiving parade.
I'm thirty eight haven't seen anything he man in years and I immediately could name off all the characters. I feel so old lol
That was AWESOME and that was 30 years ago! Where did all those amazing floats go? This year the floats were just platforms for singers. I miss those old days.
The best time to be a kid:)
I don't remember this Macy's Parade, but I DEFINITELY remember that Crystal Castle commercial, and my older brother and I having the castle AND the falls set. 💖

True. Nowadays, the parade is done in a way that makes it feel the parade organizers wants to avoid spending as much money as possible.
That was awesome!" Like seeing the figures come alive!
I was 1 1/2 when this happened so it's my first time seeing it, but man that was awesome! Best parade float ever!
It was one of my favorite floats, and they were some of my favorite characters as a kid
I loved being a kid in the 1980s! Toy companies went apeshit with merchandising and branding like they never had before. It pissed off parents but we as kids enjoyed so many fun and imaginative toy lines.
I had to sit down for this. It was too amazing.
I’m probably showing my age here but I remember actually seeing this. I loved he-man as a kid I still nerd out when I here by the power of Greyskull
Happy Thanksgiving Matt!!!!!!!!!! Your fans adore you
2024 and this is still the best Macy's float ever! I was 8 at the time.
Thank you so much for sharing this.
I love how they look like big action figures in live action! 😃 Even the colors are accurate! Kids must have flipped with this! I know I did...
This looks pretty badass for a Macy's float!
That's a pretty great Skeletor costume.
Wow ! I remember watching this when I was a kid ! I never seen this at Macys again ! These poor macy’s workers had to do this !
G.I. Joe A Real American Hero and Transformers needs to be there for Thanksgiving Parade.
01:52 lol - Grizzlor's cartwheel.
That was pretty good
Better than the reboot
where are all those costumes now?
This ... THIS is why I follow your website & Twitter page. I Love U. :-)
That reported sounded a genuinely scared. lol
It's wheel of fortune host Pat Sajack lol
This is the best thing I've seen in 40 years. Except maybe when Lee Greenwood sings.
Better than many actual cosplayers.
whatever happen to those costumes?
We have back to the futures theme on marvels
And fantasias theme on He-Man
What’s next predator theme on Star Wars float
Why oh why couldn't there be one of Bravestarr or the filmation Ghostbusters
I totally remember this. As much as I got all excited about this float. I was also hoping for a Transformers float as well but alas it didn't happen. Dammit.
Honestly this was awesome !
I honestly don't remember this (to be fair, I was like 4 years old at the time), but I wish I did. I certainly remember watching this parade growing up though.
Pure 80's. He-Man missed his mark at 2:34.
Do they not do full float shows in the parade anymore?
My god this is so awesome. I was 8. Good times
I think this might be the coolest f’n thing I have ever seen
Those actors probably worked the fragrance counter in Macy s
We need some more Matt :(
Came back to watch some of his old stuff and man, I agree! We need more review videos, they really brightened my days during Halloween season!
You. Made. My. Day. And. Happy. Thanksgiving. To. You 😊😘😍🥰
Total awesomeness
Imagine the toxic avenger coming out instead of skeletor lol, the music will always remind me of that ally fight in the first movie
Would love to see another video :) miss ya
Do you still have the boxes of hi-c ecto cooler.
Whoaa, even the Mighty Spector makes his appearance at 3.33 wearing a yellow suit jajajaja
Nice choice of music. "Why pay big bucks to commission new music, hire an orchestra, and record it? 'Night on Bald Mountain' is out of copyright, and there are lots of recordings of it."
He Man was voiced by John Irwen, who also voiced Morris the Cat, in 9 Lives commercials.
She Ra was voiced by Melendy Britt.
That's a helluva thing.
Wow! I'm sure I watched this when I was a kid.
Why does it seem like Orco is summoning Skeletor here? I knew that guy was evil ever since he tried to put a bomb in a present for the king.
My boy Hordak too! ❤
I remember how great this all was back in the day and everyone was living the American Dream. Happy Thanksgiving, Masters of the Universe fans!
2:34 forgetting that you had the power!
"Skeletor...he's the Bankrupt of the Masters..."
Epic. He-Man and his twin sister She-ra together as they should be!! ( remember it Mattel & Dreamworks!!) with their chief enemies et al. Classic.
Now THAT's a float!
Wow, this is pretty insane!
Very Cool! Thanks for sharing =^D
Orko that you see here should’ve been in the movie
And THIS is why we didnt get an Orko in the live action movie...
Man, they really don't make em' like they used to!
WELL.
Skeletor emerging from greyskull makes no sense 😂
This is amazing! :D
For the wells Fargo gold rush need to give back
the video is back!
Good, because this thing is awesomely confusing.
Epic.
& cool Betty Boop shout out @ vids end
he-man needs to hit the iron pile
0:00-0:01 IS THAT SNOOPY
yessss i love it
❤
Would be cooler if Schwarzenegger and Sinbad were there.
Just needed more of a storyline instead of all the characters running around at once fake striking each other haha.
The good old days ❤️🤘🤟🤙🙌🥰
Sajak did a terrible into of it...he didn't know how to sell it! Needed an 80's wrestling manager like Jim Cornette to cut a promo on what was going on!
Before cosplay...
that was a hot mess, little to no choreography what so ever.hot damn!
I made 666th like. Thats felt good
#swag
Wow...this looks like a mess. That music is hilarious. And I thought the Marvel float was off.
Those were happier more innocent times... I'm still horrified and sickened by the new She-Ra series. Absolute abomination. The original from the 80's is the only real She-Ra!
