We have walked in ancient times And we've been burned for many crimes We have ended many lives But we never really died You have the sun, I have the moon You have to fly around the world all day To keep the sun upon your face I'd like to come and comfort you But I'd be blinded by the blue You have the sun, I have the moon You're going to die under the sun And I'll be doomed to carry on You have become like other men But let me kiss you once again You have the sun, I have the moon
Yes. I only realised that it was a cover of the Magnetic Fields original a couple of weeks ago. I agree that this was the best version and it goes with the video on this clip which was the video for Desire Lines I believe. A great band and a great era.
Numerous covers by Lush are better than the originals I think (Love at First Sight, Outdoor Miner, Hey Hey Helen). This being one of them. It's just gorgeous. And I love this video, the way it splices bits of the Desire Lines and For Love videos. Really well edited and in sync with the words.
Even tho they released an EP in 2015, this one still feels like Lush's epilogue. The original song may be about Vampires, but in Lush context it takes a new meaning and feels like some kind of goodbye. And, in my ears, it sounds like teenagers saying goodbye to their young days and getting into maturity.
@@jasonallen3877 i know this comment is 2 years old but in case you never researched it further, the song is about about a vampire who falls in love with a human, but can not be with them during the day- "you have the sun, i have the moon"
Masterpeace... After all these years, i always cry...
We have walked in ancient times
And we've been burned for many crimes
We have ended many lives
But we never really died
You have the sun, I have the moon
You have to fly around the world all day
To keep the sun upon your face
I'd like to come and comfort you
But I'd be blinded by the blue
You have the sun, I have the moon
You're going to die under the sun
And I'll be doomed to carry on
You have become like other men
But let me kiss you once again
You have the sun, I have the moon
A classic song from the best band ever to take the stage.
This song is originally by The Magnetic Fields, though I have always preferred this version.
