I remember saying hi to Miki at a Boo Radleys gig once, this was at the time of the'Split' album. I told her how much I liked the new album and she replied " at least someone does"!
For me one of the most dreamy songs ever by any human being playing music in the known universe! This I feel is the centerpiece of the Split album and quite possibly at least for me, THE definitive LUSH song! I've worn out the Split cassette and Cd listening to this masterpiece ever since 1995!
I bought Lush's SPLIT CD when it was released in '94....seems like yesterday a thousand years ago....loved it immediately. Revisited the band this morning for the first time in a few years by watching all the videos I could find....now this tune has been going thru my head all day and I had to come back and hear it again. Missing this band and this style of music tremendously. The best and most impactful works are always here and gone much much too quickly.
I remember buying it too back in '94. It does seem like yesterday a thousand years ago. I think a lot of us our nostalgic for those days. We really did have the best music then.

This has always been a beautiful slow song. You don't have to think , there's no angst , no drama , just a cool organic wind that blows and changes direction so slight that it goes in noticed. Awesome driving music , and perfect in the background when you're painting a picture like in my case. Gets better with time and lives in its own perfect simplicity.
I feel like I was robbed of so much music as a kid. Everything is so easy to find now. Back in the 80s and 90s how was I supposed to find this? Where was I supposed to look? Lush is amazing, and at 44 years old, in 2022, I just discovered them and Curve today. God I'm glad I did.
It actually was quite easy to discover good music. I found this band on MTV's 120 Minutes in the early '90's. The difference was you had to buy the album upon seeing the video , but it was OK Yet If you look at the number of views here, you are still one of the few people who know about Lush. It's available but the audience still overwhelmingly consists of old fans, the youth seems to be lost for this wonderful culture.
I had MTV but never saw this or anything by Lush.😭 It's unfair because, if you're not watching all day, you're bound to miss something. And that something might take you half of your life to finally discover.
@@ipiap you had to watch MTV religiously to catch all the great stuff tossed far down the playlist and I was a young teen who waited for Guns n Roses and ignored the rest

I ❤ Lush. I discovered them in the early '90s on 120 Minutes late at night. Miki is just the epitome of cool. I love her voice so much. The whole band is so talented. I cannot hear a Lush song without immediately going back to that time in my life and missing it so much. 😢
Dared not missed them in Chicago 1992. I still have my ticket. One great big stage for all the musicians. A day to remember for the rest of my life. Rainy , muddy and massive pits. Everyone was happy covered in mud. I was slipping and sliding from the lawn sections.
While I enjoyed Gala and Spooky it was Split that really hit the spot with me, striking a great personal chord in a way I wasn't expecting and totally taking me by surprise. This very track was the one that really hit home and still does to this very day. So thankful to see this video posted here.
Saw them TWICE! First with Ride😎😎😎 For Split IN St Louis in 1994 they had Weezer open 4 them (1st album & NOBODY thought they'd b AS famous as they are now (especially after Pinkerton) and, I'M NOT MAKING THIS UP, When lush started the show A MOSH BROKE OUT😮😳😮😳 I'm NOT F'ing kidding either that lasted most of the show & like two fights broke up the first ten minutes... Understandable, if in 1992 you weren't in a market with a college or alternative radio station. Lush did not get airplay on any mainstream Top 40 radio stations. On MTV, you could only see/hear their music on 120 Minutes. 10 out 10, I highly recommend checking out all of their back catalogue, as well as numerous live gigs that have been uploaded here on ye olde youtube.
I was born in 1973 and The Lush is one of the all time shoegazers from the U.K. and I really miss them in the 1990’s , when I was growing up in my era.
I was born in 1973, also. I think Lush's "For Love" was the first shoegaze music I'd ever heard. I think it was either late 1991 or early 1992, but the song came on late at night, and I fell in love with it instantly. After that, I heard Ride's "Leave them all behind" and then I'd heard Catherine Wheel and so many other greats.
That long, slow instrumental build up from about 2:20 to the climactic modulation at 3:42... makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Brilliant.
I Loving this music like a ethernal deep dream traveling in a futuristic car and observing all to the very high skyscrapers with turquoise effect and sepia effect and enjoying living in an other world in this wish deep dream.
I here so much of the group PALMS in this song. Lush will always be one of my favorites of all time. Had the chance to see them in ‘92 and then again in ‘94 (with Weezer opening) in NJ. Spectacular night
This is such an exceptional song and the 12" b-side "White Wood" is one of my all time favorite songs by Lush. Pretty cool that this was filmed at the Hornsey Road Baths and Laundry. The building has been renovated and the pools were taken out in the early 2000's.
3:41 for me every time i return to this video b/c this my daily medication, this is my daily hug, this my daily reminder that someone understands me & cares....b/c nobody else does.
Such an epic song...I saw Lush in concert in Hawaii. They were incredible. Shortly after, Chris passed away. Was heartbroken.

Will u marry me? Kip
Space Ghost
I hope that you're ok.
Brings beautiful memories from early 90's
3:42 the drop for the solo slows time irl one gravitational force of a solo
incredibly underrated.
Just glorious still nearly 30 years later
Beautiful song. I listened to this whole album today. Such a fantastic record.
I lived through this era, it was a time of happiness. Miss the 90’s or as me and my Mom call them, the Good Ol’ Days.
it wasn't good times for me. that's why the melancholy of shoegaze resonated with me so much.
@@yaddahaysmarmalite4059 I was born in the '90s ('94 to be precise), so don't exactly have fond memories of the '90s, or '00s for that matter, yet much of my favourite music is from the '90s (as well as the '60s)... go figure
I ❤ Lush. I discovered them in the early '90s on 120 Minutes late at night. Miki is just the epitome of cool. I love her voice so much. The whole band is so talented. I cannot hear a Lush song without immediately going back to that time in my life and missing it so much. 😢
@Sheels1976 ditto for me Sheels1976! Godspeed. 👼💗🙏🕊
Crazy how music is such a time capsule!
Lembra muito mesmo os anos 90!
I saw them a few times in the 90's. I loved them
@ciao214Z 🤡
I LOVE THIS. IT'S A 'DRIFT AWAY' TRACK..............
Glad I was able to see them play live.
Saw them TWICE!
First with Ride😎😎😎
For Split IN St Louis in 1994 they had Weezer open 4 them (1st album & NOBODY thought they'd b AS famous as they are now (especially after Pinkerton) and, I'M NOT MAKING THIS UP, When lush started the show A MOSH BROKE OUT😮😳😮😳 I'm NOT F'ing kidding either that lasted most of the show & like two fights broke up the first ten minutes...
The Scheer The Pavement tour was the last of course 😢😢😢😢😢
I saw the flaming lips open for them at magellans in raleigh nc in 92 still have ticket stub fabulous show
Same saw them at lollapalooza 92 and twice on their 96 tour
a beautiful 90's dream
Going for a midnight drive around the beach, while listening to shoegaze at full volume is amazing... Give it a try!
Dude I did that
Sounds like a gorgeous idea. Will do. Definitely night-driving music, windows down...
Fuck ik so jealous of people who can just go to the beach when they want all i got are some fucking polluted rivers
@@34weaselsinatrenchcoat11 Beavhes on the west coast are fuckin nasty. I grew up in LA and SD...back then they were still ok. NOW....fuck that...you go in the watet and guaranteed youre stuck with a rash.
Then add someone to this drive... would be amazing! ✨
What beauty. This pulled tears out of my eyes like the moon pulls on a tide.
One of the best songs I've ever heard
Never heard of this band till just now. How has this slipped past me all these years.?
I know! Me too!
But at least...now you know...
Read NME instead of Rolling Stone.
@@aclark903 Rolling Stone? How does one read a rock tumbling down a hill?
I'm 29 and this song makes me feel comfortable... that kind of warmth of adolescence.
nostalgia is a helluva drug
Im 22 and shoegaze is one of my fav genres
They’re were such a special band for me. I’ve watched them for the first time at Lollapalooza ‘92 and became one of my top 3 favorite bands ever.!
that's the one and only year I wished I could have gone to lollapalooza. so many of my favorite bands were there.
I was born in February of 1973 and the very first Lush song I heard was Sunbathing and I fell in love with this band
That long, slow instrumental build up from about 2:20 to the climactic modulation at 3:42... makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Brilliant.
Damn, I can't stop listening to this.
Still one of the best songs ever
I want to listen to it for the rest of my life
one of my all time favourite pieces of music.Seeing this live at the leadmill,Sheffield was a musical highlight for me :-)

Love her calm beautiful voice when she sings her verses! ❤️🤘
Despite becoming a shoegaze fan nearly only over a year ago this is by far one of the best shoegaze tracks recorded
Wish I had the opportunity to see lush perform live.
3:41 for me every time i return to this video b/c this my daily medication, this is my daily hug, this my daily reminder that someone understands me & cares....b/c nobody else does.
lancey lancey !! You a star it's written
Glorious tune of a fucking brilliant group, beloved representatives of our precious music
30 years on and Miki and Emma are still making great music.
most gorgeous music ever in the world by easily the most gorgeous band.
Beyond Happy I Found This
their masterpiece, cult track
Amazing Music, it touches the deepest part of my soul...
split, one of my favourite albums of all time.
Mine too!
Its thought provoking, atmospheric, reminds me of spring storms or snow. Love their sound here its just Signature for them.
Glad they are making more songs now.
4AD and so many good bands
