They opened up at Lollapalooza 1992, and I felt really bad for them at the end of their set. The crowd was still funneling in and not showing a whole lot of enthusiasm, and Miki said after their last song, "Thanks Dallas, it's been very time-consuming!"
I saw them open at Albany in 92 and they were awesome there! I actually didn’t know much about them prior to that show - bought their CDs on campus that fall.
Saw the show in Pittsburgh, not knowing anything about them, and I was hooked immediately. I owned Gala within the week. I thought the crowd was perfectly friendly toward them.

@@ghop09er I have my concert-going pretty well documented, so I can confidently state that in addition to the April 1992 Slim's show, I saw them twice at the Fillmore in 1996 and then at the Warfield on the 2016 reunion tour. I also saw the Miki Berenyi Trio at the Great American Music Hall this June, where I got Miki to sign her book for me! ❤ I recently looked through Lush's gig history to try to figure out which San Francisco shows I missed back in the day and why. Some of the gaps were easy to explain (I missed them at Slim's in July 1992 because I was on vacation in Germany, at the Fillmore in August 1994 because I was at a conference in Washington, DC), but others were inexplicable. Why didn't I see them at Bottom of the Hill in June 1994? Sure, I was deep in debt and low on cash in those days, but a show like that would only have cost around $15, and I nevertheless managed to see Nina Hagen, Milla (Jovovich), Shonen Knife, Tori Amos, Stereolab, and X later that summer. Maybe I just didn't find out about it in time. ???
I remember seeing them w I was 16 in Highschool. And I met them @ Bayside Market Place in MiaMi. It was Lollapalooza 92". I recently went to Rough Trade for Miki Berenyi's book signing for Fingers crossed. And I told her the story of skipping school that day to see them because they were on in the beginning. I bought Gala when I was an 18 year old kid in 1990. I had just gotten to college as a freshman never had lived away from home. Used to chill out in my dorm room to this song. Still brings back alot of memories for me.

MaskedMan66. took the words right outa my brain, cocteau twins do the same thing, wish we could all get together and jam while listening to this music, how cool would that be?
Whoever made this video for Lush did a great job. So many layers of images and unique colors stacked on top of one other. This took many hours to put together, especially since it was done nearly 30 years ago. Brilliant work musta cost a pretty penny.
this song saved my sanity, kept my hope intact every morning in a state of total desperation I'd hit "shuffle" on my pod and it always came first; it was weird but then i realized it was the voice of the spark of life saying "don't give up"

And with you it's never going to last
You are the sweetness in my eyes
You are an apple in disguise
See with you
I never seemed to look the other way

after college in florida a headhunter offered me my dream job in the bay area so i relocate from the east coast to the west...after being denied a day off i compromised & offered to work a half day so i could still make the show...that was denied as well so i walked! i quit a WELL PAYING JOB in silicon valley during the infancy of the computer revolution all just to see LUSH perform outdoors in Union Square for free...the early 90's in NorCal were epic!

@@erilaz7i caught them at Slim's as well, numerous times in fact...tbh i can't recall the exact number of their shows i attended my first was at the Roxy when they opened for RIDE literally on day 1 as a resident of california
I recently looked through Lush's gig history to try to figure out which San Francisco shows I missed back in the day and why. ???
Simply a classic Indy band and a iconic song just a song that makes you feel good
Their music will make my life on Mars bearable.
She was so sweet then & now . Ty Miki
I remember when my older brother showed me this when I was a still just a kid in the 90s. It blew my mind and became my favorite band for most of my teenage years. Will never forget this song. The video is super cool too!
Wow...I was into Death, Kreator, Slayer, and Deicide at the time. I'm now 41 and discovering Lush just now. I love them...simple guitars, great bass lines and vocals that altogether just make you feel good. Great band!
I bought Gala when I was an 18 year old kid in 1990. I had just gotten to college as a freshman never had lived away from home. Used to chill out in my dorm room to this song. Still brings back alot of memories for me.
My first concert was Lush with Babes in Toyland - March 17th, 1992. Magnificent.
It saddens me that Miki & Emma do not speak to each other these days. Together they produced beautiful & timeless sonic creations.
I love them so much. This song hits everything I need.
Damn!! It's crazy that I haven't heard this band. Better late than never, am I right?!?!
Gotham United Yes definitely
First time hearing it. Flucking Love it.
My god, how l miss music like this, a beautiful harmony with dancy baggy drums, great keyboard and bass sound but overseen by the jingle jangle guitar tune. A great time for fans of music from bands.
I've seen precious few bands who inspire as much genuine love in their fans as this band.
MaskedMan66. took the words right outa my brain, cocteau twins do the same thing, wish we could all get together and jam while listening to this music, how cool would that be?
Love this song.
Saw Lush at the Marquee Club, Sydney in early 1990's. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their performance.
I was at that gig too. Great night.
Okay, I'm totally in love with this music!!!!!
One of the most beautifully written and sounding songs ever recorded…
Good god ... this sound. Never replicated. Never even attempted.
The sound of angels, a beautiful harmony of voices, and those accompanying guitars sounds, just wow!
I think this band is rated perfectly. Neither over nor under. Just *chef's kiss* PERFECTO!
This is feels so good to listen to, just feels like it's coming from within your head and not from your headphones
Turned onto them by a man at a Urbana ill record store said I would like more 4ad label people and I do love dead can dance gave great mlami show
Summer time breeze. Incredible music takes you places. Saw lush in 92 .
They were all so young and beautiful. I've been a fan since the beginning and always will be.
Love how she smiles when singing the chorus
One of the best songs of all time, totally transports me away every time.
One of the most beautiful songs ever. Nuff said.
Whoever made this video for Lush did a great job. So many layers of images and unique colors stacked on top of one other. This took many hours to put together, especially since it was done nearly 30 years ago. Brilliant work musta cost a pretty penny.
Right? Physical video tape was required in editing, even if they had the latest software.
Thank God for songs such as this. I think I would cease to exist otherwise 😊
Mountain Prairie West Agreed luv!
This has such a unique mood. One of my favorite tracks of all time.
Saw these many times in their 4ad yrs,so sweet.
God, I miss the 90s.
S Lo help me build a time machine. Let’s go back
We all do.
I miss early 90's especially.
@@isaiahd781 As long as we can stay there.
I wish I heard this in the 90's
@@blo7332 i did
Finally RUclips recommended something worth listening to.
There will always be a place in heart for this band!
I found out about this band at 12, in my dad's hospital room and ever since they've been a part of my day-to-day life
this song saved my sanity, kept my hope intact
every morning in a state of total desperation I'd hit "shuffle" on my pod and it always came first; it was weird but then i realized it was the voice of the spark of life saying "don't give up"
Love and miss U, Lush... memories of the early 90s 4AD
Some songs just make you float away.
At one point or another I've had a crush on every member of this band.
I saw lush at lolapouza in Orlando they blew me away such talent
I wish the mix were more. This is one of my eternal favorites till the day the light goes out.
utterly unique and beautiful
They're back!!! Holy sweet shit. Such news.
+Polyfusia What ..are they really??
You just made my day then!:-D
+Polyfusia
According to a commenter on another Lush video, the drummer from Elastica is taking over Chris' spot.
+Polyfusia WHAT??? What do you mean they're back?
They reunited. They have a new EP coming out and they're touring soon.
Beautiful music. So otherworldly.
See my life (I've been so tired)
See myself (I've been uptight)
See my life (I've been so tired)
See my sight (I could disappear)
See with you
Memories fading fast
And with you
It's never going to last
You are the sweetness in my eyes
You are an apple in disguise
See with you
I never seemed to look the other way
Only to stay, only to breathe, only to see
That space and light is what I really need
You are the sweetness in my eyes
You are an apple in disguise
I never wanted to tell lies
You are the sweetness in my eyes
You are the sweetness in my eyes
You are an apple in disguise
You are the juice I need for life
You are the sweetness in my eyes
YOU are the sweetness in MY eyes 💋👍
even now after all these years and in such hard times....still sounds wonderful and wish i could go back to that place....hey ho 60 years and still loving that song x
47 here…I remember when I got the Spooky cassette.✌️
Stoned out of my head the first time I heard this. August 7, 2012. Ah, the days...
Saw them half a dozen times, including first Canadian appearance at Lee's Palace in Toronto in 90... got to speak with then after the show... incredible performance. As were the other times I saw them over the next few years....
Total, unmatchable, incomprable class.
