My wife wanted EV. After lot of analysis and discussion I come to conclusion Petrol version is value for money and more logical choice.
So I purchased Tiago EV.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you win the internet
You should have considered road tax also. EV doesn't incur that cost
It depends on the city and also valid till 2024
Also insurance is higher for EV
@@rahulborntobewild then petrol prices are also based on city. Mumbai/Maharashtra is much higher than ₹100 considered in this videos
@@gauravgandi1398 in all metro cities it's 106+
No one beats you in reviewing cars. 💪
Very straight and crystal clear.
4 points which are not covered
1.Comparing ex showroom is not fair as registration and other charges are much more in petrol
2. Section 80EEB gives you tax benefit on interest so if you are in 30% tax bracket you save around 50k( 1.5 lakh *30%) per year so in 5 years you save around 2.5 lakh
3. Comparison is done using AMT version electric automatic is way better than AMT which gives you jerks , u can compare it with CVT version which is around 1 lakh costly (for Tiago CVT not available but generally CVT is 1 lakh costly)
4. Rise in petrol price is much faster than electricity rates
Check 5 years data petrol rise is around 90% compared to electricity rates which is around 15%
1. Road Tax / Reg / Subsidies to be be considered
2. Automatic of Tiago is actually an AMT , hence the driving comfort is not the same
We also save on taxes and get subsidies for EVs..great analysis btw
Moral of the comparison is, we still need more time to adopt the EV'S.
I think in future around a budget of 6 to 7 Lakh, we get the 300 + km ranje EV Car..... .
in Bangalore, there will be outright RTO savings of 95k on Tiago EV over Tiago ICE.. and as usual, immaculate video content that no one can beat.. 👍
Still a difference of 2.5 lac is on the steep side and will only makes sense if someone's driving is 60+ kms a day! On the other hand, if one's driving is this much in Bangalore and its traffic then the person should consider moving closer to his or her workplace and spend that money there rather than keep spending that much time on road 🤣
@@asifzbaig True. Bangalore traffic (silk board, Hebbal) is the worst in the world.
Bangalore needs Metro network like Delhi ASAP. The Airport is in another town altogether, and there is no reliable public transport.
From Electronic City to Airport if you take a cab, then you better stay hungry for 3-4 days as the bill is over Rs.2500+
@@rambot670 Take a bus instead? KIA for the win!! :D
@@asifzbaig KIA for the win, if the goal is about spending 4 hours of your life in traffic🙂
I shall go for Petrol for following reason:
1. Ev technology is still evolving.
2. Infrastructure issue for charging
3. Upfront saving in cost of Rs 3,40,000 can be invested at better place to earn 8-10% return that mean 24000-30000 per year.
4. Residual value vis a vis Cost of battery replacement (one side petrol has good residual value where as cost of replacing battery is huge)
5. Power performance.
6. In a situation where, car stopped due to lack of petrol/battery...in case of petrol, we can still fill it through a bottle of petrol without pushing up the car to charging point (as u can't take electricity in bottle😁😁)
7. When we buy EV, we will always be in thinking of Break even, to achive break even we ride more and ending up in loosing extra bucks in tours...😁
Good analysis, but doing comparison using ARAI milage of 19 kmpl is not ideal. I own a 2019 Euro4 petrol AMT XZA+ and my weekly run is 350 km with 75% city & 25% highway. At best the milage I get is 11kmpl. Even the car MID shows a 11.5-12 milage, I did asked Tata service & they also said that in AMT the milage is 10-12kmpl only depending on your driving style. Also the average service with oil, coolant etc is approx. Rs.5500 hence I believe the 5 year service cost difference will be significantly higher for Petrol version, when the costs of Tiago EV service comes out.
I have booked the XT long range variant & the math I did was, selling my Petrol version & get EMI equivalent to monthly fuel bill, which is approx. 13K-14K.
I own tata zest petrol and I used to get 10 12 before. I changed my driving style and now it's 17 18. My driving is 20 percentage highway rest city.
biggest problem with Tiago automatic is non availability of hill assist which is really disappointing
Registration subsidies also available in different states across India. Also, I think maintenance and service costs will be much less in EV due to lesser moving parts. But EV is only for short city drives so that you can charge it at home during night.
This is the type of analysis Indian viewers want. Good job!
Your reviews are always clear, crisp, simple and useful. Keep up the good work. 👍
one can save around 50,000 in RTO fees on EV in Delhi
This was much much needed. Thanks a lot. Can you please make a similar type of video for Tata Nexon as well? It will be very much helpful.
Being an automobile enthusiast, many people as me this question. I can share your video with them.
You guys are doing great infomative videos that no one else is doing...
Good job. Keep it up
24% savings in GST & 15% savings in Road Tax -.> If you consider these two, EV becomes much better prospect. Good video, Thanks
You guys read my mind. You make videos on almost whatever comes into my mind😍
Very practical comparison, cleared my all concerns .
Ultimate video on the most important question in buyers mind...keep it up guys....!!!!
Driving pleasure of ev is next level. Should consider that also.
Since iam a rare user of car. I prefer to go for petrol car. So I can pay less while buying. And spend while I use it. Useful info bro. Thank u for ur clarity
Superb comparison, very thoughtful and unique. Hats Off to V3 Cars
EV should always be compare with IC engine for a period of 8 yrs or 1Lakh KM as the replacement of battery has to be done post 50000 cycles. Battery cost on EV is 40-45% of EV cost. So Turobo CNG+FlexFuel+Battery Hybrid is better solution over just EV
Thank you Sir for this video I now have a vision on how to compare a bio fuel car with an electric car according to my requirement. Thanks a lot. Have a great day.😄
Please update the video with the revised price and features of the Tiago EV.
V4 Cars is becoming my favourite auto channel for your rigorous comparisons. I am an auto industry veteran and find your approach very methodical.
Petrol car have a 6 Rs per km cost and electrical car have 1 Rs per km cost, it's as simple as that, so if you have 2000 km running monthly then you can save 10000 monthly or 120000 annually, so it depends on your running if your monthly running is more than 1500 km and you can manage charging at home the surely you can go for ev, but if you drive occasionally or out of city tours or long trips are more then you can avoid ev as charging infra is still under development
Price difference will narrow down if we can consider on road price for both. Also you need to consider xza+ automatic vs xz ev and the price difference is less than 2 Lakhs in Bangalore. Also you need to consider petrol price rising over the year.
V3 Cars are setting high standards which no one can beat. I liked than watched it. Aa I am sure about the quality of the content.
buying ev for 15 yrs average running 50 km per day.your review is very nicely explained
Good comparison. Keep it coming 🎉
Very nice analysis
Very nice information.
Keep up the Good Work !
Due to very high battery replacement cost, the resale value of EV would be really low.
Secondly, government subsidies on EV.
Thirdly, the maintenance of ev is much lesser compared to regular cars, no engine oil and no vibrations(which cause higher wear and tear)
Fantastic analysis
Nice video, can you pls tell me the location of Tire repair kit in Tiago EV , couldn’t find ,in trunk or below driver seat?
best site for cars.....thank you
You missed one major point i.e. battery changing cost after 8 years and its effect on resale value at that time.
Since there is no Road tax on EVs, the price diff is actually close to 2.5lks , which is good in terms of value for money
but only for city use, office up down karne k liye perfect.
long trip marna hai to EVs se dur raho :)
Nice Video Sir 👍
Battery life endurance cost should also be discussed .
I'm 58 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, we are finding it impossible to replace it. We can get by, but cant seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 40years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for
who is your coach if this is not too much i'm asking? I've been looking into advisors lately myself, my retirement plans are going down the drain, my 401k has particularly lost everything gained since 2019
I'm sure going to need his help, thanks for this amazing information
Agreed mate but for one thing, I empathise with the Ukranians but nothing more, they've decided they'll fight - correct decision IMHO but it was their decision to make. Now we must decide if we fight alongside them. I say yes but live in a democracy and the majority might see it differently when the crunch comes.
How many kids do you have?
@Vido jimenez hindu muslim war leading to ww3
Nuclear weapons
😭
The maintenance cost is not accurate. Petrol service is much higher than EV service. Just the engine oil, oil filter costs around rs2500+ per service. EV skips on these
What about extra emi for 3.4lac rs will I have to pay ? I think we will have to pay 3k or 4k more for ev, which I think is enough to monthly day to day use of cars
Warranty on Tata car battery pack is 8 years and you barely even out the cost at 8 years so when you actually start saving, you're looking at an expense of more than 5 lakhs approx. for battery replacement. (Nexon EV battery - 8 lakhs and change).
after 8 years the battery won't cost 5lakhs! Evs will be everywhere reducing cost due to bulk production..
Great sir
what a clear cut review
My driving is daily 35-40km and for me Tiago EV XZ MR for 9.6 lacs on road made perfect sense
Currently I am spending almost 8-9k for petrol per month
for daily total of 40km (its usual for many) - 9k seems very heavy. from yoour comment i want go for ev
@@venkateshdangeti9450 9k cos usually I take my Ertiga and in city it give 10km/l
In Kolkata petrol is 106 almost
@@rahulborntobewild meri to santro bhi 10kmpl deti hai bas. It's a small city no highways, so car 90% time 2nd and 3rd gear pe hi chalti hai. So EV is no Brainer for me. also moslty because EV is cheaper than Petrol in my Country Nepal 🇳🇵
Ordered Nexon - it's 26.25 Lac Indian currency vs Petrol which is 32.5L INR
Sir, on road cost makes a different calculation if i consider 150000 subsidy
Can you please make video about EVs battery. Warranty Life cycle and how much they cost out of warranty.
Because if battery alone is about to cost 4-5lakh will it be worth to switch to EVs
Hi Team, can you do comparison between Punch automatic and Tiago automatic
Few points
1. Price is basically the same if you are considering dct/tc transmission because you will get seamless driving experience in both ev and dct/tc. If you are comparing with manual/amt you can't match ev.
2. Base+x(road tax) the amount x you are giving not to your car, whereas for ev it's mostly your car cost, isn't it great??
3. Yes road trip is possible, we are not living in ancient society. Charging stations are growing at high speed.
4. Do you think the 100rs fuel you are buying with 100rs, not possible. But for electricity it's in your hand.
5. It's not about ice vs ev. New technologies are emerging in India. let's use it, else we will be left behind.
Driving EV is not only running cost. But it's an experince like you are driving powerful German car. Once you start driving EV car, you will not be interested driving normal ICE even automatic. It's a different experince at all... You can compare Tiago EV with BMW X1 for its powerful driving experince and safety.
Nice video
Can you also do a video comparing slavia and virtus?
Also compare, PETROL XTA and XT Mid Range EV
Can you please make similar video for Nexon Petrol and Nexon EV ?
Super sir
Can you please make a Same review for Nexon ev and Nexon ???
super!
No point using ARAI claimed mileage for the petrol variant since you will rarely get that similar to how you will never get 300km range in the tiago ev so the actual difference in price is huge.
PS. I have a nexon xza+ petrol in Mumbai and I have driven almost 12k kms in 13 months of use. I have spent almost 1.5 lakh rupees on fuel so far and at this rate i would spend close to 7 lakh on fuel over the next 5 years.
sir both cars we get projectror head lamps, thanks a lot
There are zero registration charges in many states for EVs. This will save at least 50k to 90k upfront
The interest on incremental ex-showroom (3.41 lakh) price should be considered @ 7.1(ppf, in case of purchase with cash) or for vehicle loan @ 8.40% for 5 years 👍
The prices are never justified..
But as per environmental concern ev is justified..
Tiago dv has 1 more feature - latheritte seat + better warranty offer & its services cost is way better than petrol tiago
Come on, I really like your channel, but seriously ?? Are you making calculations assuming petrol Tiago will give 19.28kmpl? WTF!!!
How about the Taigo ev vs Tiago CNG ?
If I have ev car and if I need to go out of India for 6 months what preparation for my ev car I need to follow
According to this price difference if you compare petrol AMT with Tiago EV MT medium range, then difference price is covered and can save 45000 for every 10000 km
My run is 1.5 to 2 lakh for 5 years, going for tigor ev xzplus
You shoul consider tiago Ev XT Lr with XZA PRICE DIFFERENCE WITH GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES AND ROAD TAX BENEFITS
we also save on section 80ee on Income Tax when take loan on EVs
What about subsidy on ev upto nearly 1.5 lakh !
Looking at ev for 8.5 lakhs ex showroom value to break even with xza plus value comparison ev stands out far ahead in 50000 km run on 5 years...
You missed the Main point ... Which is government EV subsidy.... (Which is around 1 lac to 1.75lac depends on state) and some states have no RTO charge for the EV. Which ultimately reduce the on read price.
Compare it with CNG EV Amt
onroad price has difference of 3.4 lakhs as well in mumbai
Battery replacement cost needs to be considered as well for EV cars which could be around 5-6 lakhs after 8 years
will be less in next 6-7 years
@@NITISHBHATT008 it will be more...
as demand for batteries is gonna rise exponentially, and the raw materials are very limited and are mined from africa and south america
In petrol version we don't get ARAI mileage. Actual mileage is much less then the claimed mileage. Therefore cost comparison of fuel is not correct i guess.
Government subsididy not included though
Any kind of EV car, if you are running 2000 km per month then you can gain from the car compare to petrol car.
In this comparision state subsidy for EV is not considered.
Pl consider it from which state u belong.
Good vedio for starting but not a detailed one
U dint consider clean auto vs amt. The cost diff wud be 80k easily
Actually Tiago petrol make sense even in high road tax states like Karnataka where road tax is 1 lac for Tiago xza.
In 80EEB to be consider
EVs have better performance
also petrol price will increase in the future. electric unit cost wont increase at that rate
So its better to go ahead with Tiago NRG...auto..XZA+....😉
The analysis doesn't make sense if you dont consider the fuel price appreciation on petrol and electricity both of which are highly volatile based on govt policies.....who knows what lies in the future? Maybe the petrol prices will fall abruptly as soon as EVs become widespread? Demand and Supply?
In cost of ownership you completly missed out GST, Road tax and other charges. For ICE engines GST -28%, for EVs GST -5% only. Moreover EVs registration charges are free almost in all states in India. If you take these things into cost of ownership then you can derive exact figures. Let me know if I am wrong
Battery replacement cost????? I guess 5-6 lakhs
We also get IT deduction
may be aapne मेंटेनेंस कोस्ट ज्यादा जोड़ी है EV की
MERA Month Me 3000Km
Running Rehta hai to konsi
Vali behtar Rahegi
EV /Petrol
Hamare Gujrat me 150000
Subsidy Bhi hai
go for Petrol....EV market is yet to be explored fully....yes rich people who can afford 2 cars can go for it
Suggestion: maybe you can start considering environmental impact of these cars. Especially when comparing cng/ev versions.
Senseless as electricity generation is still coal based
EV is far less about range and more about reliability and on road motor/battery breakdown. Specially with Tata cars.
