Very good video. Thanx for making. "Rider sag" is with the rider on the bike. "Static sag" is with no rider and no luggage on the bike. I dislike the bobbing up & down my Transalp suspension does like a small boat on the ocean's waves. Especially the front forks. I weigh 75 kg with riding gear on with decades of riding experiences on-road, off-road and paved race tracks. It is unsafe on dry and wet pavement even at near walking speed in town. I will be upgrading both ends soon. Presently I upgraded the fork oil from the stock 36 viscosity to 46 viscosity but have not test rode it for more than a minute so far. Will go for a +100 kms ride today to learn how much the compression and rebound has slowed down due to the thicker oil which will help to keep the wheel on the road properly. Note viscosity of an oil is what is important NOT the 5, 7, 10, 15 #'s on the bottle as the manufatcurers can put any # they want on the bottles as suspension fluids are not regulated. I found for example Maxima Racing 15 has a viscosity of 46, Belray 15 has 53 and Motul 15 has a viscosity of 57 (from memory) @ 40 degrees C. I realize Honda put cheap basic suspension on it to keep the price down. But once reasonable additions like suspension modes, a skidplate, lower crashbar, heated grips, centre stand,... are added the Transalp is no less costly than a few other ADV bikes in the similar engine size that have these already. Otherwise I love the bike. I also replaced the tires with a MotoZ Tranctionator Adventure rear tire and a Bridgestone AX41 (all MotoZ front tires are sold out world wide until approx. February 2025). Both these are surprisingly good on pavement and great off-road. Much safer. Transalp's original fork oil is: Showa Suspension Fluid SS8 (10wt) (Apollo). Viscosity @ 40ºC (cSt) = 36.51. @ 100 ºC (cSt) = 7.24. Part Number: 08208-0010.
You're right, from now on we can't expect to receive a DECENT Stock Oem suspension no matter the bike. They put as stock a suspension that holds a very lightweight person with no intention to use it off-road and have some fun. They need to be in those dam margins regarding the costs. Therefore thanks God that we have options. And when we think that the starting price of a Transalp 750 is much less than on other similar bikes and has more power, upgrading the suspension isn't such a big problem. The benefits are huge, the bike is at a different level.
Nice upgrade. Remove the center stand... You can to use a Bartang Trail Jack 2.0 for maintenance in your trips, and a motorcycle lift stand in your home. The side stand is fine as is.
If the sag in the fork (rider+bike) is too much then adjusting the preload is not the remedy. Adjusting the preload is only increasing the ride height of the bike (at the front). Only changing for a correct spring rate will allow for correct sage setting.

For the Tracs you have driven, it is not necessary to chance the suspension of the Honda Transalp.
Much to easy!!!
There was an opportunity and I did it. Never thought it is such a difference in terms of comfort, stability and fun
I installed a MotoZ Tractionator Adventure rear tire and now on the centre stand the tire just touches the floor. The tire has 15 mm deep lugs.
Then it's both tyres and suspension
So that's amazing, now that my tyres are a little bit warned out the bike stays on the stands better
ce mai faciti frate mau
Oooo ce faci Zhui ? Salutare ! Mă bucur sa stiu ca esti bine !
I like👍 your Videos, but this is much to long🥱
Thanks for the comment, too much to be said also, the suspension settings are too important to skip some stuff. Have a great day.
You can choose to not watch it all at once.
