First time hearing this song. Reminds me of my ‘special friend’, who died just before the epidemic. He was a romantic and a dancer. I imagine myself wrapped in his arms, dancing so closely. Makes me remember all our best times. Thank you for this beautiful, smooth song.
Really random approach of this song. I was on a treadmill at the gym, running with iFit trainer on screen. And the trainer introduced me to this masterpiece. Thanks Sir Knox 👍
Years after commenting. To explain... I worked in a pub, in Nottingham UK, in the '90s. There were live standard jazz bands, at lunch and over the weekend. Others a bit more out of my knowledge. 'Mind the gap' played this one night. I was flabbergasted. I wish them well.
It touches the soul, doesn't it. I also get tears in my eyes. But I also listen to it when the stresses of the day get too much and I just need to be soothed. And loved. Massive power in Abdullah Ibrahim's spirituality. I was transported when I watched him play this in a darkened theatre and it took me hours to re-emerge into the harshness of the day afterwards.
I love this music! I don't know why, but every time I listen to this song, I start bawling like a baby. It sounds like the kind of music you'd play at a loved one's funeral, a memorial service, or even a wedding. 😭
Words almost escape me when listening to this. It is really awe-inspiring and emotionally intense. It creates such calmness within me and a yearning for peace.
Yes, exactly. I turn to it whenever the stresses of our world become overwhelming, to find peace and a spiritual calmness - a dextox if you like. His own spirituality speaks to us through his music. Magic.
First Sunday of 2020 i was listening to a radio station Motsweding FM around 19:00 to 21:00, and the radio presenter Sylvester Mfluwane played this track 😍, i felt it, wow great jazz.
I also appreciate that we can actually comment on this video. For some reason, some RUclips video channels have *turned off* comments. However much we love the song on the video, we cannot comment that we love the song. Why the hell is that? Why do channels turn off comments? That makes no sense.
Now you know what happens when you take a Filipino karate black belt & turn him loose in front of a Steinway (no Steinways were hurt during the making of this recording).

This music masterpiece reminds me of my dad... from playing this tune on cassette to now playing it on Apple Music in his car. (Memories)
the kind of music that will make you weep
What an amazing gentleman. Don't think there is a single piece of music he has written that does not move me. Thank you.
He always surrounded himself with compatible souls to play his music. And in his solo work you get the man himself. I love him like he was my brother.
Beautiful song. Never thought I'd be moved by a flute solo, but here we are. Oddly not on Spotify but the rest of the album is

That trombone solo....absolutely magnificent. Unbelievably good.
Ive never understood why his music was not more widely known, it is so smooth and easy to listen to, and beautifully nuanced.
This should go down in books as the composition of the century!
Abdullah Ibrahim's music is very deep and spiritual ✨
I feel tears filling my eyes. Gosh! What a piece? Music is wonders.

The combination of the so many instruments to come with such a melodius tune, is just inspiring

It’s the drummer for me! Piano so nuanced. Surrounding those majestic horns and woodwinds in light!
So beautiful, that theme! And what a great idea to creating so many different songs with only one theme, as Abdullah Ibrahim did !
This such a beautiful piece of music. I'm amazed it isn't more widely played/known.
