My wife and I dragged my 81 year old mother along to the clean up on Sunday. First “non-routine” outing since my step-father passed earlier this year. She wasn’t happy with the amount of trash in the camps, but was ecstatic to be working with a bunch of dedicated people. I wanted to throw out a huge thanks, not only to the organizers but to all of the volunteers for working together to make a difference.
As someone who is currently homeless , seeing the trash left by others is disgusting . Great job by you and the rest of the volunteers doing your best to keep the areas clean ( as someone who is currently homeless , I want to apologize for the disgusting mess left by those who don't care ) . Would like to see a video about your different cameras you use .
I lived in my jeep for 12 years.... mostly suburban areas... walmart, flying j truck stops...many people trashed the lots, i tried to clear what i could but its tough to be distinguished apart from the troublemakers. We were all considered to be scum street trash😮 ... jesus delivered me. 🎉🎉
👍 Oregon is very lucky to have you and the other volunteers. What a shame that this clean up process is repeated again and again. Seems like there is something that could be done to prevent the homeless encampments from every getting to the point that they do. Thank you Casey for all that you do. Looking forward to more videos about the big clean up. 👀
All the people need to do is keep their encampments orderly but many lack that capacity. Makes one wonder what their next digs will be and how they will come by getting it.
@@jasonbare3472 What possible difference could it make? They pick a piece of ground now and completely trash it. What makes you think they'll do the work to improve a different piece of land like the homestead act required? I'd also love to hear that you think our Birthright is.
Casey, time after time, as I watch your videos, you really shine in the type of person you are. I know you do a lot of rescues FOC which this channel helps, but to see you interact with those people in their time of need, to see how you josh with your friends on trips, to see how you call out and maintain integrity when it might otherwise be hard for others... And now to see the volunteering side of clearing sites using your equipment, it's amazing to see. You're a good person through and through. Thank you for showing this, and a big thanks to all the volunteers who follow on to clear the physical trash.
I have camped out there a lot. Living in the valley, dad in a nursing home in Bend. I used to come over about three times a month to see him. The only way that anybody knew I camped there was if they saw me when I was there. I never left anything behind. And have picked up quite a bit of stuff. It sickens me to see how they destroy that area like it’s their right. Entitled homeless is what my brother calls them.
I can never understand all the garbage these encampments produce. My son and I only fill 1 garbage can and a recycle bin once a month! Thank goodness for all you guys and the volunteers!
It’s really sad how the entire west coast has become a transient state. And it’s really nice that your area is doing something about it. Good job Casey!
Must say - over the last couple of videos your new equipment/extensions/lifters for the truck has really being used well. Nice having the right tool the right job - right. All the best
Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. All my brothers are US Marines semper fi one on the Vietnam wall, I had no where to put my trash
Thanks for all of your efforts! Me and two other buddies worked in Group 6 on Saturday cleaning up a very large dump area under the powerlines. If you haven't seen the PLS Bend before/after photos, you definitely need to check them out. An amazing amount of stuff was removed.
WOW, what in Hell is wrong with people that treat our country this way. It’s bad enough that my brother in law is a hoarder and can’t seem to say no to bringing home more worthless stuff every week while the house he lives in is falling apart around his family. This is a sad reflection on todays society… Casey and everyone else involved, thank you for spending your time to clean up this mess.
It's a shame that people leave their trash in the woods like they do. Thank you and all of the other volunteers for your time and effort cleaning up the mess.
A big thank you Casey and all the volunteers that help keep our public lands available to everyone. I just don't get it. If I was homeless, I would try and be under the radar as much as possible and definitely not bring negative attention to myself. I understand that some homelessness is due to mental health issues and drug addiction. Homelessness has been an issue for hundreds of years and at times, many elderly were the majority of homeless persons. In many parts of the country, people were sent to jail for being homeless or instructed by the courts to leave the area or face incarceration. Social Security was created to provide some substance of living for aging persons, as many didn't have retirement plans or resources. I guess the public will continue to play wack-a-mole with these encampments until a policy is enacted to seriously deal with homelessness and the access to affordable housing. Thanks again Casey.
Thank You and everyone for cleaning up the areas. In past years I’ve spent my winters in the southwest boondocking and I’ve noticed more trash and sketchy people living in the desert. They don’t care but the more this happens the more area’s will be closed.
Oh chit that's where I left my 5th wheel. Thanks for all that you do to keep the forests clean. And all of the other projects and jobs that you do. You are a gifted Man !
I lived in a van for almost 5 years and always tried to leave a spot cleaner than when I left it. So not all who are homeless are messy, but those that are, are the ones that ruin public spaces for the rest of us. Unfortunately just takes a few. Thanks for helping clean up
Why is there so much trash and abandon vehicles? That’s crazy! Thank you guys so much for cleaning all this up! Proud of all of you! We need to save and preserve the trails!
Wow! Very nice group effort on this clean up!👍😎 So sad that many people don’t have respect for the land and forests😢 Thank you Casey for all that you do to help! Stay safe out there!❤️🙏
How do so many people choose to trash a place so friggin beautiful?!? Unreal. Great job hauling away all this junk. Mad respect to you and all the others doing the clean up 👍✌️
Disgusting situation. I’m admired buy your cleanup effort. When you post videos of cleanup it enables people to be disgusting and worthless. Those people who left campers and trash don’t deserve your time and are probably watching you clean up after them.
Have read about homeless ppl and never knew this was going on..Thank you all for keeping it clean. Even tho I live in the South we need to take care of our planet everywhere
Casey it's a shame that people actually trash such a beautiful area. Thanks to all of the volunteers for cleaning up the shit that is left behind from these people.
My wife and I are campground hosts. We spend a lot of time dealing with trash. Wish I could do more but we have limited resources and I'm disabled. A golf cart or 4 wheeler would be great with my harbor freight grabbing tool
I lived in a 38’ quinstar for a year when I was saving money for flight school! Someone repainted and carpeted the inside. It was probably a super cool trailer in its day.
I moved right next to china hat rd in 2018 and what it was then versus now is unreal. It’s so much worse with the homeless. The camps and garbage keep getting bigger and worse while at the same time moving closer to homes and the hiking trails there. It’s unfortunate but it is fortunate that you guys help clean it up. THANK YOU. We just moved from Bend or I would be there helping
Thank you Casey for what you do, and helping to clean up our forest. It's a shame that they can't charge and make the ones responsible for the mess to do community service cleaning up there own mess. I know that they would still need someone like you helping, but they should be out there doing some manual labor.

I recently viewed same but larger areas in Seattle. Sacramento, San Diego, most all of California is a wasteland. Infested is exactly right
