ABANDONED Camper Needs A Lift!

  • I teamed up with @troysOffroadRecovery to get this abandoned truck camper out go the National Forest for PLS Bend as part of our forest cleanup efforts. It was DEEP in the woods and had been there for many years. The people who put it there somehow managed to get it perched onto a precarious set of stands next to a canal, and we had to get it down without dropping it off the stands and blowing it to pieces in the woods. So Troy brought out his 6x6 military wrecker to lift it, while I used my skid steer to maneuver my car trailer up the forest trail and into position. We then removed all the stands, lowered it onto my trailer, and hauled it back out to my rollback, where we loaded everything back up and hauled it to the storage area where it can be processed.

Through councilling and therapy, these vets regain their self respect, get vocational training in construction trades, and get to point of self sufficiency. Being a Native American , it is a large part of our life to return "life" to our community and family. In as much as that. I can only say to you, conversation in like driving a stick shift car. Love watching big equipment working! I used to build foundations for pre-built modular homes. I'd pre-grade the lot and staging area. The truck would haul in the home and the setting crew would roll the home onto the foundation. In some cases, a crane would lift and swing it onto the foundation one half at a time. I loved watching the setting crew scurrying around getting everything lined up while it was being lowered onto the foundation. I provided a "turn-key" service for the owners. When I was done all they had to do was move in. All utilities were installed and turned on, lot was finish graded and either sodded or seeded and driveways and walks poured.

Instead of making fun about Troy's toolbox, you should have commended him for bringing the tools needed for the job, unlike other recovery specialists.
