Hi everyone, I really hope you enjoy this new episode! If you would like to watch my latest ASMR video where I look through a gorgeous new coffee table book, you can do so here: ruclips.net/video/4yX1ZPgJCMs/видео.html
🎩You looked so debonair in the handsome top hat😊. (Inherited a 🖤brilliant black bowler hat from merry old🏴England, but sadly it was too tiny for my big head🤣.) You also made an attractive tableau enjoying your lovely 🍵tea & carrot cupcake🧁 with the enormous bouquet of white tulips🌷 too 👏🏻. Can't wait to try your recipe. Outstanding glimpse👁👁 of Edinburgh at your opening sequence too. You're so fortunate to live in such a spectacular ancient city. Fascinated by 🏴Scotland's long history. The USA🇺🇸 is so young in comparison... 😘What an exciting shop tour. It's like visiting a living museum. It would be so captivating to learn the stories 📖 behind each & every item for sale❤. Adore Georgian furnishing & decor. Antique shops are thin on the ground in 😎LA, but the few we do have are way outside my modest 💲price range anyway. It's possible to discover some special finds from 1900-1920, but 18-19th Century furnishings are more rare on the West Coast. Armoires certainly weren't dragged across the continent by covered 🐴wagon. 🎋You'll find more Chinese Foo Dogs (lion dogs) over Staffordshire dogs on our shelves. Been to some local auction houses here in my life where they featured some spectacular Victorian pieces. 😬Considerably easier to find a few antique road kill dressers & cabinets that need 🛠serious TLC. Love it all, but vintage goods are more my speed❣️ Bless you❣️ 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
Hello Nicolas, thank you for this beautiful video, it would be nice if you could show us more about these antique places, also houses with old books and castles enchanted with their legends, please Nicolas! it would be so nice to hear them narrated by you.
Your thumbnail was everything!…The hat makes it!…Love this antiques episode and your interpretation of them but mostly I love how Sophie goes every where with you and the cute little kiss at the end….
Sophie is so well behaved in these tiny spaces! I am so glad you choose to stay in Edinburgh. It is a place I hope to visit and think of you as my 'personal' tour guide!!!
I haven’t been antiquing for a while, but my favorite items have always been boxes and furniture with lots of small drawers. I loved the tea caddies. The top hat looked made for you!
I love your tea service, Sophie on the couch, the profusion of white tulips and the delicious cake .. what a beautiful painting 🥰 💖✨ Thank you so much Nicolas 🙏 💞
What a lovely day out with such great antiques! I as you love the fact that all of these things tell a story and have a history. Thank you for taking us around the antique shop. You should do this more often. Have a lovely week.
Now that's an antique store! Those enormous covered silver serving pieces! The chairs! The golf clubs! And so much more! The word antique is so loosely used but these were the real thing. Great tour, thank you!
This older video popped up in my feed and I was delighted to watch it‼️😍 What a treat to watch all those antiques. What stories they must have. Thank you‼️😍
How delightful! I have a date with a friend this very afternoon to scour our favorite antique stores for beautiful, useful things! Certainly adds to my anticipatory mood, TY!
What a magnificent antique store😮I can't imagine taking Niko, my Siberian Husky there. Sophie was so well behaved. I am with you, I love carrot cake as well. Keep practicing your baking.
Thank you for taking us on the antique browsing. Those cupcakes did look so delicious. Tulips and that book looked interesting. Sophie was also enjoying herself and fry attentive.
Awesome haul at the antique store. Lovely pictures and view of the tables chairs and lanterns and other things. Thank you for the recipe of carrot cup cakes I love when you bake cakes and sweets. . My favorite is Sophie she is the star of the show. Nice to see her with you. As a sweetheart you are so beautiful to her . She was so relaxed in her sofa. You too are very blessed to have her around. Thank you for the book 📚📚📚❤❤you have nice books to read . God bless you today 🙏🙏🙏 praying for you and your family. Stay strong and positive. God bless you.
The hat looks perfect with your coat! looks good on you, makes you look like an "English gentleman", ......which you are!! ❤England is a wonderful place to get some beautiful pieces❤ cupcakes are easily freezable also, just put in little sandwhich sized freezer bags and you can pull them out the night before for a nice egg, bacon muffin breakfast!, mmm yummy! You could use cut squares of parchment paper, then you would have more room. Thanks for sharing!
I enjoyed seeing all the beautiful antiques. I especially loved the doll house, as I absolutely adore miniatures. You inspired me to finally start painting and decorating a doll house I purchased many years ago. I hope you purchase one someday and you do a series of videos on it. Btw, as usual, Sophie is so adorable!
Those tulips are amazing!!! This year my phrase to live by for not just the year but from now on is - Let it be - and have unapologetic amounts of floral beauty or art decor beauty in my life.
Hello to Edingburgh from Munich (Bavaria). Like your style, voice and savoir vivre. A beauty surrounding, creates a beauty selfie ... wish you all the best .. many real friends by your side and protect you heart!
At 06:12, the two items on the far left middle shelf appear to be a pair of Georgian knife boxes, either mahogany or walnut. As mentioned before, they would look good in a dining room. As time when on, many of them had been converted to stationery storage boxes, so in this case, it could be a stylish storage box in an office/study. They are relatively inexpensive in the UK. To the right of them, the urn-type container looks like either a Georgian tea caddy or knife box. At 09:38 there are a couple of vintage Anglepoise lamps--a brilliant design still used and sold today.
Absolutely lovely and I loved and adored the feeling the cozy feeling of you at home towards the end with your beautiful flower arrangement, and your tea and your cupcake. And specially Sofi sitting next to you all cozy and cuddled up on the sofa and sharing that cupcake with you it was just delightful. Absolutely amazing, give me such a warm feeling. I just adore Sofi and your warm loving adorable relationship.
Hello Nicholas, Well, I was immediately enthralled with the dolls house as my father brought one home when I was about 12, but being a boy, it wasn't meant for me but my younger sisters who incidentally were not the slightest bit interested. It languished in our basement, huge, old and lonely. I was captivated by it but regretfully never even thought of redecorating it. It was professionally handmade and a copy of the 3 story historic home a distant cousin lived in. Completely furnished, it even had electric lights you could switch on and off... I just hadn't found my calling yet. And I was busy trying to fashion a pair of trousers out of some colorful plastic inflatable water rafts ... who knew that stitching them would perforate them causing them to come apart at every seam the first wearing? I loved the visit to the antiques market as we don't really have the history here in the US to find many things from the past discarded. Now and then but those things tend to end up at estate sales. I was a bit disappointed when you found something you liked but didn't tell us the price. I also thought the top-hat looked very good on you and would have been a fun look for every day wear which certainly would make you a character in any crowd. I can't wait to try your carrot cupcake recipe as well. Ours, although I have not tried everyone's, tend to be much blander without all the spices you mention. But at the moment the oven is my repository for loads of china which I also collect and are boxed inside. I'll make some changes. The book you spoke of is the one that got away. I am referring to the Howard Slatkin one, 5th Avenue Style. I vacillated about buying it at the time but now it is out of print and the ones available anywhere are in the hundreds of dollars. I have looked through it though and was very impressed with his taste. I'll keep searching for it to add to my existing library of interior design books. I get completely lost in them. I can try to send you a list or better yet a photo of the hundreds I already own. 5500+ pounds last time I moved! Can YOU say OCD? Ok, this is too long for a comment but wanted you to know I can relate to most of what you seem to be intrigued by. Me too! Hope your tea party goes well. Cheers from Chicago!
Hello Nicholas, yes I did enjoy your vlog. For that matter I like all of your vlogs. I too enjoy antiquing especially in small towns and non-touristy out of the way places. One can manage to unearth a great find. Carrot cake is one of my most favorite cakes. It has been a cold and rainy day in LA. I managed to do some baking myself. I baked 2doz chocolate chocolate chip cookies and 2doz simple white cake cupcakes with dried cranberries. Stay well.👍🙏😎
So very happy to see you again! Your vlogs "disappeared" for a long while even though l'm a subscriber! You look great and so does your apartment! Looking forward to seeing you on a regular basis! I'm going to search for the "Cake" episode; it sounds wonderful! Take care, your friend in Kansas City, Tom ♥️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🎉🎉🎉
Thank you taking us to your antique shop! So interesting because I live in the USA. So difference from here! I saw so many things I would love to have!!
Oh, Nicholas, What a treat you had in store for us this morning. After the very, very early morning encounter with one of my neighbors, it was delightful and calming watching your video. I love looking at antiques. The floral cabinet and the Wedgewood wardrobe were my favorites. Thank you for the calm and peace this Sunday! Have a lovely week. I'm moving a week from Monday, so I'll need the extra calm that you bring the day before!
My weakness Nicholas everything antique. So enjoyed the. Video. Presently helping a friend who purchased a large mansion in Vancouver British Columbia Canada. Thinking of a buying trip to Scotland and London in the spring , Thankyou for another inspirational video. Godspeed, Jeffrey Skinner. 🇨🇦✅
Thank you, Nicolas. I was looking for something to do today and shopping for antiques was just the ticket 😊 I actually went furniture shopping yesterday, so we are certainly on the same page. I have a lot of antiques and other traditional items I don’t want to remove, but I need to do a re-fresh/re-arrange. So yesterday was an inspiration day. Today I am taking photos to get a perspective of how things look and deciding what to change. Happy February, cheers!
Spent many hours at Georgian Antiques shopping for furnishings for Nunraw Tower, Garvald. The Dixon brothers and staff were so very gracious and helpful
Beautiful 😍 love the doll house remind me when i was young and my mother bought it for me from london famous children shop forgot the shop name and took it all the way by plane from london to iraq i loved it very much 🥰🥰
As soon as I saw that girls school hat with the name J. Froggatt, I thought of the English actress Joanne Froggatt from Downton Abbey. Lovely episode. So sweet that you gave Miss Sophie a taste of the frosting and a kiss. 🥰
Loved the antique store. Can you tell us more prices next time?? Just interesting to see. The cupcakes looked wonderful. Carrot cake is one of my favorites also. Thank you so much for sharing.
A lovely video, such an interesting visit to explore the antique shop. The doll house was really something ! Your cupcakes look wonderful,I think I may make them. It’s so nice to see Sophie she’s so sweet .Thank you for taking us along.
Gorgeous antiques 😊. Very nice recipe as well. Thank you for the tour. A design idea..golf clubs mounted on the wall with brackets spaced apart ..handle then club and the club to handle, make a beautiful book rack and very unique. I would use at least 6 clubs and yes you can paint them etc. lovely video ❤
Enjoyed this video, Nicholas. Love seeing Sophie, antique shop, really like the Doll House, and the dessert. I will definitely be making those cupcakes. They look so delicious. Please take us on more trips.
My favorite parts of your videos are the recipe segments. When you were tasting the cupcake with Sophie and saying "it's a shame you can't have any" ---it gave me the idea that maybe you could do an episode with a dog-friendly baking project for Sophie to enjoy? I'm sure you have a lot of viewers with four-legged friends in their lives who might love to see that! Sophie reminds me of my dog, he is a Havanese named Yuuki. :)
Well done, Nickolas....the cupcakes look great and as you said delicious! I must add I love Sofy...she is the most well-behaved dog ❤probably because the owner is you 😄
I've really enjoyed this video! Thank you for taking us along! That's a great shop! Imagine the fun you and Rajiv Surendra could have had together! I think you and he should work together on sprucing up that doll house!
Nicolas, thank you. I really enjoyed going antiquing with you. It is one of my favorite hobbies as well. Carrot cake is my favorite cake, and your recipe looked easy and delicious. I really like seeing the connection you have with Sophie. Your love for her is quite obvious, and she is so devoted to you as well. This was a great video. Wishing you the best, Robert.
I just adore doll houses. I asked Santa and my parents for one every Christmas and birthday. Thru my wishlist taped to my bedroom door. At 21! my brother bought me one. He hot glued it together the night before, including full sheets of roof tiles that should have been individual. Omg. But I finally got one. I did my best to fix it up. My nieces enjoyed it for a bit. I gave it to a friend with a daughter. It’s probably in the dump now. But I’ve been thinking about doing another. I get so much joy from miniatures. Ok. Long prelude but if you want to do a dollhouse, just buy a basic kit to start. 😅💐💞
Hello dear sweet Nicolas Your pup is so well behaved. I just love listening to you voice!! It is so calm and soothing. I love watching you bake and it makes me want to make all, especially your birthday cake. My son also is gay and I love him so much! He reminds me of you. I hope he finds someone just like you to love. Much love to you. Catherine from Utah
I could wander arond an antique store all day and love it. If only the items there could tell the stories of where they've been. I'm into baking lately as well. I think it's the cold winter. Your cake looks delicious. Thank you Nicholas.
What a nice episode, Nicolas! I really enjoyed it 😊 And Sophie is so cute 🥰 It is lovely to see her ❤ I love antiques and it was really nice to accompany you on your discovery tour. And I will definitely give a try to the carrot 🥕🧁Muffins. Thank you for your videos; they are getting better and better 💪👏👏
Thank you for a beautiful shopping experience. I love shopping with you.❤ Please more videos like this. I love antiquing but don't have the exquisite antique shops in this part of California. Love that you were allowed to take Sophie into the store. I adore her.❤❤❤
I think Sophie was a little disappointed you didn't buy some Staffordshire dogs but the carrot cake icing made up for it. She's absolutely adorable, such a peaceful joyful little soul!
The entire shop was amazing. I could spend all day in the curious section! The thrill of the hunt! Be still my heart! And now I want carrot cake!!! Thankfully my store sells a 4x4 inch slice. Just enough for two servings for myself. Portion control!
So fun, sitting and getting a tour of 4 plus floors of such a collection of items...The antique tea caddies here in the US do not compare with Edinburgh...And the boxes and the biox writing desk really made so well. Thank you ..
This video was just great, Nicolas! Loved shopping for antiques in Scotland with you! -- I loved watching you decorate the cupcakes with that fabulous little flair!!! I really hope you hit it very big someday because I think you'd be perfect in a grand town house!!! Much good luck getting there! Meanwhile......... you are doing stupendously well!!! xoxo

Hi. I say this with kindness, pronouncing words that end in ‘ing’ with a hard k sound is not elegant. Something not somethink.

At 06:12, the two items on the far left middle shelf appear to be a pair of Georgian knife boxes, either mahogany or walnut. As mentioned before, they would look good in a dining room. Love the closing scene. You and a gorgeous tea set, brilliant tulips against that lovely sofa with your pup.

Beautiful video once again! Love to little Sophie! 🌷
Georgian Antiques sell a lot of their stuff to north America. But make sure you ask for at least 10% off the stated price wherever you buy in the UK.

Love your videos. Buy the chairs, Nicholas, you can make them work! The cupcakes look scrumptious. Good job!
I would need at least 3 hours and bring a lunch when visiting. Maybe add an additional hour to talk myself out of buying too many items. ;)
Sounds great!
Loved looking around the antique shop, The hat looked rather spiffing on you.🥰👍
As soon as I saw that girls school hat with the name J. Froggatt, I thought of the English actress Joanne Froggatt from Downton Abbey.

Charming story! Thank you!
Thank you for your very kind words!
I could wander arond an antique store all day and love it. If only the items there could tell the stories of where they've been. I'm into baking lately as well. I think it's the cold winter. Your cake looks delicious. Thank you Nicholas.
What a nice episode, Nicolas! I really enjoyed it 😊 And Sophie is so cute 🥰 It is lovely to see her ❤
I love antiques and it was really nice to accompany you on your discovery tour.
I adore her.❤❤❤
Oh Nicholas-I WANT TO VISIT THAT SHOP!!! It is fabulous!!
Think the grey hat was you! Made you look very dapper! Thank you for taking us along.. ..love looking at antiques!
I think Sophie was a little disappointed you didn't buy some Staffordshire dogs but the carrot cake icing made up for it. She's absolutely adorable, such a peaceful joyful little soul!
She is so lovely isn't she!
The hat looks very good on you! ❤️🙏
I must say hats absolutely do seem suit you
Haha! Thank you!
The entire shop was amazing. I could spend all day in the curious section! The thrill of the hunt! Be still my heart! And now I want carrot cake!!! Thankfully my store sells a 4x4 inch slice. Just enough for two servings for myself. Portion control!
I love it when you take us antiquing. Lots of beautiful items. Next time please share the prices of the items you are looking at......Enjoyed.

Meanwhile......... you are doing stupendously well!!! xoxo
