My husband had a furniture refinishing business for 15+ years where people brought him their painted "mistakes" and would strip down the furniture with hard chemicals, fix and sand them, and then repaint with this big airbrush system. This chalk paint is a game changer! Plus kinda love the fact that the green paint is under the gray. Also, thanks for up-cycling! So many people just throw out furniture instead of working with it, it's a great table. The painting is amazing, so modern!
I have never understood modern art and as a florist, gardener, and Japanese Ikebana artist, I completely understand the color green, but not within the abstract form of modern art. Absolutely love the fern, as that evokes many feelings within its context. Repainting the table really lets the fern stand out. Great job.
modern art has to speak to you! It is very powerful with the emotions it can pull from your soul. In this case you see the soul of the Green Man. I just posted a comment above where I really think that the entire Palace of Versailles should be painted over with modern art. The murals and paintings on the ceiling and walls are too heavy. They don't speak to anyone. We need modern artist to redo the entire Palace so that it evokes emotion. In this painting I see the intensity at the way the paint was brushed against the canvas. There is something so spiritual about it. I believe the reason modern art is not appreciated as much is because folk don't take the time to stare at the paintings for at a minimum of 45mins and allow the painting to speak to you. For each person it is different that is why it is so special! After 45mins one can get past the brushstrokes and color to the essence of the painting. I am guarantee folk that if they would just stare of the painting continuously for 45 minutes, that by the 46min they will fall in love with it. Remember these one of a kind, they cannot be reproduced. And some folks may need a little extra to free their mood to feel the painting. 26:42
Your home is so lovely. Adding this vibrant painting to your room adds an element or energy that was not there before. But it is also balanced by all of your neutral furnishings. Just love everything about it! I'm an abstract painter & love seeing others work. Thank your introducing me to Jonathan and his fabulous paintings. Welcome home.
Congrats on the new piece of art. The room now looks the best I've seen since watching. The painting gives an eclectic feel that refreshes the more traditional pieces giving the space a current fresh look.
Art piece was the best choice. The vibrant greens and the hues of yellow tones in the background light fixture make the room feel warm and also modern and classic at the same time.
I love the colours in the painting and the textures. It does look fantastic in your space and with your lighting. It really balances the classic architecture of your space with the more modern unstructured freedom of the painting. Very eclectic.
I understand you - I am a homebody and love to be at home in my own company (have a husband) - it calms me down - not everybody likes to spent time alone - I enjoy it
Nicolas, your new painting looks smashing and is a perfect addition to the room. The modern art balances the more traditional decor splendidly. I loved hearing Jonathan talk about his work and the Green Man. Thank you so much!
Thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Like you, green is my favorite color. Your front door is stunning! While I was sad to see you repaint your table, it was the right choice. The end result was so beautiful. The painting is gorgeous and brings an energy of renewal to your space, as I'm sure was your intention.
I love the fact that you painted the tabletop grey. I think grey is one of those colors that will never go out of style because you can match it with I believe most colors. But I'm no paint expert. 😊
Hi Nicolas!! - so lovely to see you again - it does not matter what you do - you are enchanting to listen to - you have many people who admire you judging by all the comments you are receiving - your home looks light bright & airy which looks great - your Artist friend has a passion for Art the same way you do - I loved the abstract painting especially the lovely colours he used very gentle on the eye - I would have loved to have learnt more from this fascinating man - much love & have a peaceful week.
I love the painting! The green tones are so rich. I know you'll incorporate the colors into your upcoming holiday decor. You do such and great job with your holiday decorating.
Nicolas, thank you for another relaxing and enjoyable video. Your final words said it all. "Home is just being. Be yourself and enjoy your space." I was impressed with how you worked around the results of a finished product that didn't turn out as you expected. You do encourage us to take risks, like painting a table a new color, but you were honest about your mistake and found a way to go around it. Having the artist explain his work and inspiration brought the quality of your style to a new level. I always look forward to your videos. All the best from New York City, Robert.
Sorry for replying to someone else’s post but you appear to have switched off the comments. Do you know what type of fern that is that you have on your gorgeous table. Great to have you back x
I also love the Green Man! One of my faves! He is not just in the Celtic Lands - he's in many parts of the world including Turkey, Iran, etc. I love the art work and the artist, too! Wonderful episode!
I love the new painting and what you did to the table! The green looks wonderful on your door but I agree that it was too much on the table, especially with the painting.
BONJOUR NICOLAS🍁🍁🍁🍂🍂🍂🍂WONDERFUL TO SEE YOU!! YOUR NEW PAINTING IS VERY CHEERFUL !!! A NEW PATH IN YOUR LIFE!!! ALL CHANGE IS GREAT FOR YOUR INNER STRENGTH!!🍁🍂🙏
Nicholas, you live in a beautiful exciting city with a beautiful appointed apartment. I luv your personal space and what you have done with it. It's like living in a little cottage in a dynamic location of the world. Please remain happy there and keep appreciating all of us that look forward to "visiting" with you. The table came out beautiful and the green large plant on it is perfect near the wall with the bold piece of art. Much luv from SoCal!
My favorite video yet Nicolas! I always love hearing from artists’ who speak about their art and it’s origins. Fascinating. The painting certainly DOES have lots of energy! Also - your table looks great! ⭐️🌟⭐️
Oh Nicolas, maybe it's just me! But I just love that green. I remember having that color green during Easter time and I m in Detroit MI. I just loved it when I was little and still do. I'm 57 now, and still swoon over the color. Thank you for the memories ❤🙏
You pulled in so many of my favorite things about you into this one video (too many to list in the comments!). Over the past year you've achieved the updated look that, as you said back then, would better reflect who you are now. Compare 23:07 through 23:16 in that corner area, to a last year's video "Preparing for the Festive Season..." starting at 6:01 from last year. They show that you're accomplishing just what you said you wanted. Jonathan's incredible painting is a forever piece, be it in that corner or wherever life takes you. Also on display are all the right decisions and tweeks along the walls and fireplace. I remember the times here and there where you tried something and then changed your mind. Sometimes you even ask our opinion. Anyway, welcome back home!
Lovely to see you back. The green man resonates with me also. As you say it embodies nature its self. The mythology and folklore surrounding him is facinating. The painting enlivens the space thank you for sharing.
So interesting to learn the history of the Green Man. Your friend Jonathan is incredibly talented. So good to have you back . The soup looks delicious and your new art work is stunning.
Nicolas, I see negative remarks on your new painting. I remember you saying you were going to change up you place and evolve your style. Good for you. You are young and it is good to express yourself on your own terms. I like the mix of modern and vintage and English style. That is what I have done. I think if you want you could put your lamp to the left of the picture and it would look beautiful. All the best to your new design ideas. Can’t wait to see what else you have planned for your changes in the future. Love what you are doing.
Love your new painting Nicholas and all it represents. Nature has literally been my salvation a few times in my life so much so that I wrote a poem about it. Your videos are so uplifting and each time I watch them I endeavour to savour each and every moment as you do. Thank you Nicholas.
So Nicholas, not only is your home speaking to you, it is having a meaningful conversation with you. As Dorothy said: there's no place like home. Incidentally, love the juxtaposition of the modern artwork with your traditional furniture.
Beautiful painting, it has a crystalline plant aura to it. Loved seeing it being hung and the artist dialog about the spirit and natural energy. You will see so much with varied angles and lighting. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Glad you are back again Nikolas!!!! We have missed you! ❤🤗 Being happy is so very important!!!! We love you Nikolas! Autumn is here too in the states. ❤🌾🍁 🍂 and I love the table!!!!! Great job. I am going to try that with my dresser.
Thank you for painting over that hideous green table. The new color is beautiful. I also love your new painting. It really adds brightness and color to your living room. It's very good to see you again.
oh lovely art! Nice to hear about the inspiration of how the painting was created straight from the artist himself. I am an abstract painter myself and it somehow happens that most commissions I get from is England.... Your whole living room looks more modern now too!
I couldn't image you having a more contemporary piece of art in your home. But this piece really works. It looks perfect where you hung it, adding a new dimension to your surroundings. 💕
Welcome home, Nicholas. I love how the table turned out and especially how the brush strokes compliment the brush strokes in your new and very awesome painting. Well done!
I'm glad you repainted it, the green wasn't the best color, so you have good taste. What you did with that table is make it look like Marble. It looks beautiful. I also find it interesting that the background of the painting silhouettes the table. Interesting how that came about. Nice video to watch.
Thank you Nicolas for your way of showing how to take life as it come i love how you found a soiution to life it self i like the table better now love the different shade of green in the painting and how Jonathan explain it glad you are back home have a aewsome week
So much better, Nicolas. The previous color was a shiny warm green. Matt goes so much better with your decor and is so much more calming. The painting fits right in, with its matt, cool forrest and moss greens with the greyish white background. Well done to you and Jonathan.
Yes Nicolas love this video. Love when you painted your table the color radiates all of the living room. Your leaves firm is so beautiful and fabulous. You look so relax and chic. Nice art work done by your friend. The green 💚🍏 is very important in life is also hope and peace. God bless you today sweetie 🥰❤❤❤May God be with you today. Looking forward to seeing you again Nicolas love xxx
i was feeling under the weather today, and i decided to make your autumnal stew recipe with a side of oven-baked turmeric and black pepper chicken and a slice of toast bread... it fed my soul and filled me with so much goodness. i imagined this would be the dish i made anytime anyone in my family was not feeling well... thank you for a forever recipe, Nicolas🤍🤗
I think that with your taste, the color of the table will be awesome for fall/winter, adding beautiful China pieces. I find it exciting and lovely. 😚😚😚
Your new painting is so amazing! It just ignited your whole space. You must be thrilled. I am following Jonathon now and excited to do so as I have an obsession with art. ❤
Nicolas has an eye for using the right earthy tone colours intermixed with a bright pop of colour here and there to not make an interior look boring or blah. I quite agree with him that the green colour for the table surface was the wrong choice. It was too overpowering and if I were sitting at the table,I feel that the green would have been a distraction. I like what the finished look and final transformation that he chose instead.
Welcome back home. I travel a lot and I understand that feeling of being back home. I love that feeling of waking up in my own bed and having my whole day to just be in my house. Love the painting.
The table looks great Nickolas it kinda looks like Marble lovely to see your smiling face back again beautiful man 😍 greetings from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺🐨
There is No place like home !! Love it!! You are so talented!! Loved the kale bean soup the table beautiful! The painting . All the touches that has your fingerprints on it. It’s simply your home. And it feels so good!! Enjoy Nicolas and welcome Autumn 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I love your pumpkin pot! Thanks for celebrating each season and showing us your decorating experiment. It's alright if you didn't like it at first. Experimenting is a big part of the creative process. Your new painting it awesome! 😃 You have that pop of green that you wanted.
I love AS French linen…happy you didn’t wipe it back, the table looks great! Being a “homebody” myself, there is nothing quite like being in one’s own sanctuary…enjoy😊
This was really packed with a lot! Thank you so much for making this. I think I'm going to try that soup today. And I understand how you feel about just being grateful to spend time in your lovely home. I feel the same way about mine.
The problem is that you haven't picked up the green anywhere else in the room so the table stands out like a 'green' thumb. When you want a dominate color to spark the room use pops of the same or complementary colors throughout to bring continuity.
Give him a chance and be patient, he said long ago he is making many changes to that room as he has had his furniture for a very long time. Let’s wait and see what his new plans are. He will make changes after he lives with the painting for a while.
I am simply addicted to your videos Nicholas ..You are just incredible...I am extremely delighted to see your new vlog Each video of yours brings joy to my life . Keep up the great work🍄
i love your new home. i think it reflects you. It is very calming. The focus is not every thing on the wall, but the owner of the home. The focus should always be the owner of the house.
Hi Nicolas! You did such a great job on your table top! It looks like marble now. Your new painting really stands out with the burst of colors and lots of energy; very beautiful! Enjoy being back home! Looking forward to future videos!
It's wonderful to see you back home & settled in. The table looks beautiful! I have a side table that could do with a change of colour. I'm rather looking forward to using this paint. It was fascinating to hear you chatting to Jonathan about his artwork. It certainly has pride of place in your home. I imagine with the varying light through your window, the painting will always remain pleasing to the eye. Thank you for this perfect relaxing vlog. ❤x

Hello Mr Nicolas, Thank you for showing us how to use the chalk paint. It made me more confident to paint 3 black bookshelves to brighten them up and to give it a better look in my home. Greetings from Chicago USA
The table looks wonderful in its new livery. I’m amazed at how you are able to paint without first laying down tons of protection for floor and other surfaces. Incidentally, that window light is very flattering even though it made it difficult for us to see the details in the tabletop.
So glad to see you back, good job on the table looks so much better natural colour ,you make it look so easy .The painting is a wow love the colour it gives your room a totally different look, have a good week
Great to see you back Nicholas. I must agree with you when you said it inspires you to paint more things knowing you have a big tin of paint, I'm the same. I have painted many items and it really does make sense as the furniture looks as good as new once completed. I also love my home and I like to spend lots of time indoors and in the garden... God bless you. Terry.

That's because there is no understanding it. It's garbage. They know it. We know it. But no one says it out loud. But the emperor has no clothes!
That is what I thought too, make his place alive and he is a young man and deserves to have some changes.
Thank you for allowing him to speak so eloquently with a respect for his artistry
Congrats on the new piece of art. The room now looks the best I've seen since watching. The painting gives an eclectic feel that refreshes the more traditional pieces giving the space a current fresh look.
Loved this episode. I'd love to see more interview-style episodes with artists/designers/gardeners who influence your decor.
Yes this interview was enchanting and informative. A great painter and a very expressive guest.
This is so beautiful, Nicolas! Happy to see you back. Fall is my favorite time of the year, I love Winter as well. So excited for cozy Season! 🍁🍂💖
Art piece was the best choice. The vibrant greens and the hues of yellow tones in the background light fixture make the room feel warm and also modern and classic at the same time.
So rare to see another person who loves Winter! It’s my favorite season by far
I ALSO WELCOME COZY TIME & FALL & WINTER, I LIVE IN THE SOUTH OF FRANCE, NOW LESS TOURIST & HEAT IS LEAVING!!🇫🇷🙏🍂🍁🎃
I love the colours in the painting and the textures. It does look fantastic in your space and with your lighting. It really balances the classic architecture of your space with the more modern unstructured freedom of the painting. Very eclectic.
Beautiful opening shots of trees! So beautiful and peaceful.
I absolutely adore the fact that you are so open and honest with your mistakes.
It makes everything that you do so much more trustworthy.

I understand you - I am a homebody and love to be at home in my own company (have a husband) - it calms me down - not everybody likes to spent time alone - I enjoy it
Love it and how it brings a fresh young energy to your classical space. The colors are so rich. It was a treat to hear from the artist.
Nicolas, your new painting looks smashing and is a perfect addition to the room. The modern art balances the more traditional decor splendidly. I loved hearing Jonathan talk about his work and the Green Man. Thank you so much!

I am simply addicted to your videos Nicholas ..You are just incredible...I am extremely delighted to see your new vlog

your table. Glad to see you back, Nicholas.
I appreciate your willingness to try something and your resilience if it doesn’t turn out as well as you hoped! Enjoyed your video!
i love your new home. i think it reflects you.

Yes sir, the table and painting are geometric and gorgeous.
Toward the end of your video, when you spoke of being back at home, and your face reflected your words 🥰

Love that green!!! And the painting. Beautiful.
I always thought you needed more color in that room. This certainly work and looks beautiful!!! Enjoyed hearing from Jonathan Freemantle!!!
Terry.
