    The new SD9 2.0 is out and the full potential has been reached. The new trigger setup of this update is the star. A budget priced gun with an excellent Glock style flat faced trigger and updated slide is going to be a winner for sales. I’m excited about this model.

    The SD series was meant to be a budget friendly duty weapon or self defense weapon. People compare this pistol to more expensive options but they were never meant to compete with those other pistols.

      @barcelona2170 8 месяцев назад +3

      I agree until you look at the sales (as of now at least) on more expensive guns and wonder why wouldn't someone get the better gun if they could for not really a lot more? I get it though. I was in the same boat not that long ago where the extra $20-$50 would be a deal breaker. That's the reason I got the SD9 VE as my first gun. $275 + tax was all I could get and still afford ammo and an admittedly not great holster. I would advise people even check the price on a police trade in because they may be dinged but most aren't shot all that much.

    Wow I was looking at this online earlier! This is the first review video out in the SD9VE 2.0 and she’s looks really good. It sucks that it’s not optics ready but that least it has a full length rail and improved trigger. I was looking at getting a Shield Plus Optics Ready version but I’ll more than likely pick this up due to the higher capacity, price, and rail for me to place a TLR7 on. Great purchase brother!

    • @GB-zi6qr
      @GB-zi6qr 8 месяцев назад +7

      Eh, optics are nice. I'm thinking for me that standard sights are just fine. I guess my point is, a person really needs to learn the basics of shooting before going to something like optics.
      Besides, the point of this pistol is economical self defense. Reliability and accuracy are mandatory in a self defense firearm. RMR's or other optics really are not NEEDED for self defense, they are nice to have and use but not mandatory.

    For what S&W is asking for price wise these days for these blasters, there are better options. The cost is encroaching on M&P prices. A few years ago a SD9VE was 299.00 msrp. Add a apex trigger and it was a solid low priced gun. PSA will sell you a dagger with more features for less money. Basically the same thing.

    The reason the original Sigmas into the VE Sigma line's triggers were so terrible, was because they were meant to replicate a revolver's trigger. There is a small pig tail spring in the lower ejector assembly that's soul purpose was to make the trigger double the weight. When it's removed the trigger pull is better than a stock Glock. I reinstalled mine for liability reasons.

    Just an FYI, Academy is/was having a sale on the original models. Check you local stores.
    The SDVE's have gone up in price. Where I may be willing to give $300 for one, $400 is too much. That's getting too close to the M&P.
    If S&W wants to stay competitive, the price has to stay at or below $300. I'll also be waiting to see a durability check.

I took a survey for Smith a few months ago and I figured it was for the improved line of these models. Personally, I'd pay the extra money for an extra mag at POP. Most new shooters buying these haven't got the foggiest notion that the magazine is most likely going to be the culprit in failures associated with auto pistols of any repute. Ah well.

    Years ago I bought an SD9 after my other 9mm gun was stolen (believe it or not, the police actually found it!) out of my car. I *desperately* wanted to like it, but I couldn't hit the broad side of a bar when shooting double taps. I thought the problem was me, but someone lent me their 3rd gen Glock 17 and I used the exact same technique I was using with my SD9 and, like magic, my rounds landed exactly where I wanted them to landed; I knew the problem was the gun, not me. I sold the gun and bought a G19 a week later.

    They ruined it. Sandpaper grips, cheesegrater serrations, a staplegun trigger, and now only comes with one mag. The original just needed Apex trigger springs, and it was a VERY accurate pistol and in 2800 rounds I have never seen a single stoppage. Now it's one of those clicker type triggers the tacticool crowd loves. The freaking ruin everything.

  • @DShiflet01
    @DShiflet01 8 месяцев назад +4

    If I didn't already have the 1.0 model I might consider one of these, but as it stands, there's just too many options out there in the same price range for me to get another SD9. PSA has the Dagger, there's a number of nice Turkish pistols in that price range if you're not one of those "won't buy anything Turkish" guys, hell, you can currently get a Steyr M9A2 at Bereli for $325 and that's a very nice gun.

    • @JD-tl7ld
      @JD-tl7ld 8 месяцев назад +1

      The M9A2s are a no buy unless you want to be left hanging with a gun and no support should you need it. It's been said to buy two so you have one to strip parts off of. I'm not saying they are bad, but more than once that brand has been imported then not. The aftermarket is not there for them like they would be a Glock or M&P.
