For anyone that doenst know Toronto.. this isnt the worst hood in Toronto. This is Regent Park which used to be really bad but got gentrified. Toronto has a lot of housing projects thru out the city. Like the lawrence heights projects, Projects in Jane and finch, Jamestown projects to name a few. But they are located between middle class/rich neighbourhoods.
Yeah, I worked in that area for 10 years. Had a friend who lived in St James apartments/ Sherbourne. Took transit there and walked. Never had one issue in 10 years.
Regent and Moss Park was hella cracked out back in the day. Basehead hookers all over the place too (Hooker Harvey’s..lol) I used to hit up crazy loft parties down there back in the 90’s. Went to school with a lot of Regent kids and they put in that work..nuff said. The yuppies snatched up a lot of those Victorian Houses and formed really aggressive neighborhood coalitions, teaming up with the cops and put pressure on the city to not allow anymore crack house SRO’s and push the hookers outta there. Gentrification happened fast especially when half of Regent was demolished.
Interesting tour. Most of that city looks fine, however I note the Canadians are saying these areas are gentrified now and the real hoods are elsewhere.
This is correct. Most projects in DT Toronto have been torn down or in the process of it. They've been or being replaced by quite nice government assisted housing. To be honest, better then the conditions I'm living in. Also, because DT Toronto is so expensive, it doesn't get to bad because some of the remaining hoods (such as Moss Park Projects) are pretty isolated as opposed to having another project a few blocks away. The suburbs are where most of bad projects are, but there are plans to tear those down and replace them with nice housing too.
One of the differences in Toronto's hoods compared to the US, is that most of these places are low-income or have people with mental health issues, but they're not really dangerous... no one is gonna shoot you
That's neat you're doing Canada Hoods now. If you ever come to Winnipeg my recommendation for you would be places like Selkirk Ave, North Main, Higgins Ave. We can do a co-production if you're ever here :-)
Good job! Commenting a third time: 2:25 Queen and Sherbourne is a rough corner, lots of addicts and some violence, usually kept between them. 3:19 is Moss Park public housing but across from it, the streets are multi-million dollar 19th century homes. That part of Toronto has a lot of contrasts right beside each other. Walk a block away from junkies and you've got wealthy people watering their gardens. Jane and Finch, parts of Scarborough, Keele and Lawrence are the kind of places where the issues really happen. But even then, you'd likely have to wait days to see anything scary.
Love your videos. I'm late to this video but well done as always. As a 6th generation Torontonian, I can say our biggest problem is weak politicians and lax justice. Our crime rate is low compared to similar-sized US cities like Chicago, but we have a lot of enabled addicts who came to Toronto during Covid and are all over the downtown near the legal shooting gallery at Dundas and Victoria Sts. Also, the city rented some downtown hotels for three years for the homeless. And, they are begging all over and some are violent. As I type this, we have had a murder and multiple stabbings on transit. Plus, a lunatic just this week shoved an 89-year old woman on Yonge St, who fell and hit her head. Dead.
Was hoping to see my old neighbourhood (Mount Dennis) - although I don't know how it has changed since I lived there (it wasn't great at the time though good people). If you're doing Canadian cities, Ottawa's got Vanier, Caldwell, Russell road, parts of the downtown east end etc. plus a few neighbourhoods in Gatineau that would be worth showing IMO - the contrast between the sleepy touristy government town capital and the poverty in parts of the city always strikes me.
..bottom line, there are very dangerous hoods all over the world 🗺..as a recovering addict, it’s something you realize early on…it’s the poverty and hopelessness and easy access to drugs and lethal weapons that have brought many hoods to the brink of no return and some into a kinda zombie land, Kensington in Philadelphia, US is a good example, but it could be anywhere.. Toronto : a small island of wealth and beauty surrounded by huge areas of struggling communities. The reason behind Torontonians having elected a drug addict mayor a couple of years ago has to do with the fact that the guy spoke the language of the struggling communities and didn't try to hide the city's many problems under the rug of Canadian "niceness".
All the buildings that are boarded up at the beginning are being torn down to put more condos up. Just what they need downtown, more condos. Having said that, I worked in the Moss Park area for YEARS and I have seen some shit, but I never felt like my life was at risk. Just don't mess with people and treat them with respect and usually everything is all good.
Thanks for clarifying. I wondered what was happening with those boarded up buildings. I heard Toronto had a housing crisis so it's no surprise some developers are going to throw up some more condos.
Ya I think that's the thing about our 'hoods' - they tend to be lower income and have lots of people who are suffering from drug addictions. But it's not like you're gonna get shot by a drive by shooter...
America is right beside Canada, and in comparison Canada is safer than the US, so a lot of people think that because Canada is safer in the US that means there's no bad areas there, when there's in fact a lot of violence in Canadian neighborhoods as well, it just doesn't get the same reputation, because the US is the next door neighbor and because of the Canadians are "nice" stereotype
Just like any other countries. Canada has his share of problems. Cities like Winnipeg has a high crime rate that can compare to other US cities. Not all Canadians are nice, you will quick realize it if you walk the wrong part of some cities. But it is indeed a great county nonetheless

Toronto only has areas that are poorer and run down but the crime and violence is not there! Anywhere in toronto is safe and chill to walk or drive thru and people just keep to themselves. Can not even compare to the feeling of being in an America hood
You’re right tho. Toronto hoods are super insidious. I stayed up in Toronto for a while in the mid 90’s to about 06 then moved back down to New York. Maybe some of the streets that Charlie didn't drive down are worse... And the danger comes at night...
My wife and I honeymooned in Toronto 41 years ago and were surprised by its cleanliness then... We stayed at the Inn on the Park hotel....
Lol you are in the nice areas lol. I can shoe a crap tonnof trash lol
the abandon building you saw are abandoned because they are being torn down for a some highrises.
Canadians: nahhh you don’t even know. There’s a dorito bag on my block RIGHT NEEOWWW
That's the weird thing about Toronto. It looks nice but can also be really dangerous. Whereas somewhere like Vancouver has obvious dangerous places.
I love Toronto.
Rexdale has so much hoods.
Ich liebe deine Videos.echt klasse 👍 👏👏🎥🎥🎥🙋♂️🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪
I wanted to know if Canada had hoods so I looked it up 💀 guess I got my answer.
What I’m seeing is what most Americans would consider living in a middle class hood .. boarded up buildings is going to be developed into condos
Do the most dangerous hoods of Montreal
Yeah the hoods here are much better than toronto
@@GSG-kg8db better as in safer?
@@Daniel-uw1wt more dangerous
@@GSG-kg8db No where I'm Canada is like where he's from lol.
There is not really dangerous hoods in Montreal, just like Toronto doesnt have also. But the area in the east side of Montreal north that is between Rolland, Langelier, Leger and Maurice duplessis bd is the one he should go to. Lot of history there and its starting to get a bit crazy at time.
And I thought about moving to Toronto. Maybe I should stay away.
You sound like a victim lmaoooo
Nah it’s safe you can go
sherbourne street core
You went by m.o at the end of video but barley showed anything
You drove by my place in this... dangerous hood... maybe like someone said in year of the gun ... but not now.
It looks like rich neighborhood in Vancouver tho.
You should see East Hastings, Vancouver.
Worst in North America.
Get a clue vancouver is nothing compared to toronto
Multiculturalism and it’s wonders
Days in the 6ix 📺🇨🇦🔥🍿
I grew up in regent Park it's not a bad area at all. It used to be bad but it's now considered middle class. You need to go to geared to income living to to find the slums. Sherborne and Dundas is a rougher area. I live there now
That’s rough? That’s my go to Airbnb spot. Nobody bothers me. Or did you mean rough from the rent
This isn't Regent Park - this is Moss Park and pretty sure he did go to Sherbourne and Dundas at the 6:00 mark
8:00 hey I've been here! Tried to find parking space got yelled at by pd because I guess it wasn't a spot.
I used to live in that neighborhood, not worst but it just plain depressing place
I like Canada👍....maybe cuz am from Michigan 🤷♀️
Not the worst areas.. charliebo gotta visit rexdale, malvern, jane and finch. etc..
Loyal Dollarama customers always there 🙂
Young Merkules🤙
Bro u should’ve atleast drove to Alexandra park while u where down there to atleast show the people a real downtown Toronto hood
Wasap Homie🤘😎🤘
home of smoke dawg
Dudes sign at 2:06 "Jonesing".!!
Where is the hood part?
@ 10:30
This "hood" looks better than most places in the US.
Type Vancouver eastside, it looks like Los Angeles skid row if not worse
Squirrel turf war at 3:59!!!
I feel like Toronto Canada most dangerous hoods don’t belong in the same sentence, Drake must’ve paid paid you.
Just because it's not America doesn't mean danger isn't there🤣😭
@@kiddo7711 no one said that.
There’s no « Dangerous hoods » really in Toronto, it’s mostly public housing community located in some areas that can be risky if you’re not from there.
Look out! Squirrel fight at 4 minute mark!
Pretty tame tbh. You want colourful Canadian content try the Vancouver downtown east side right after welfare wednesday. Tent cities, screaming crazies, open air drug market. You will be able to smell the pungent tang of street piss right over youtube. Thanks for doing what you do and be careful out there!
Looks almost as dangerous as downtown Disney
American money: Worthless donation.
you should stopped in hamilton . Its smaller version of toronto and 20x more problems !
even hoods in Toronto are safer than safest areas in St Louise
Toronto has a lot of Asian and Indian and muslims which makes it less sketchy and very Toronto feeling, USA is either Black, Hispanics and white lol.. very different feeling in my opinion, and Toronto doesn’t have the tough feeling compare to the USA
Canada is like bootleg U.S
If you’d ever visited there, you’d know that’s not at all true. Common misconception though.
@@SKa-tt9nm I have
charlie ya gotta go chill at Jane n Finch or the Rex!
go to jane and finch and rexdale
if you go to toronto avoid chester le my nigga, cuz u ain't coming back, if not a coffin 😂😂😂
