Would love anyone's experience on this subject: I bought a 5.56 16 inch rifle a year ago. I'm interested in getting a 10.5 inch upper receiver for 300 Blackout. Would it be possible to file Form 1 and register my original lower receiver that came with my 16 inch rifle and have the 10.5 inch upper and current lower be considered a "rifle build"? Would I be able to file another Form 1 for a supressor as well?
Yes, that's exactly what I did with this rifle. A new upper and a Form 1 will create the SBR, but you can hang on to the old upper and use it as well. As far as the suppressor goes, if you Form 1 the suppressor that means you are building one from scratch, which is possible. Most people go the Form 4 route and buy a suppressor from a dealer, such as SilencerShop.
I would say it's definitely worth it! I cloned a MK18 mod1 cqbr block II and it just didn't look right with a pistol brace. MK18 is my favorite rifle 👍😎👍 waiting on SureFire RC2 for it now!!
If I ever SBRed a gun, it would be the best of the best, not waiting my time/money/civil rights, on a gun that’s a crappy brand. Just my 2 cents. But, the big question is, was it worth all the laws you have to follow with it? Cant put it in your car if you plan on getting out of it, having it locked up in your own house, among others not listed
It isn't a one and done. You can have a handful of guns registered as SBRs, they don't have to only be Gucci guns that you keep in your safe. It was worth it to me, so was the MP5k clone that I did.
@@neptunenighttimeservices7964 That has been pretty consistent recently. One of the guys I work with submitted his a couple weeks ago, so I'll get an idea of how long it's taking shortly.
AdventureColorado yeah :/ I just did some reading up on Reddit and NFA tracker, best recommendation is to use the “ask the experts tab” while logged into eforms and see what’s up with it. I’ll give it a shot tomorrow
Not as good as a month, but still better than a Form 4 transfer. I will be posting a video this coming Thursday about the Form 4 E-file process and a suppressor that was just approved at 99 days.
You would want to pick a suppressor that can handle the 7.5” barrel and purchase that. That would be a form 4 transfer. The pistol can be form 1’d to create an SBR.
I am not an estate attorney, so I would suggest checking with someone with legal experience. In general it is possible to leave an NFA item to an heir through your will and it will have to be transferred to them. Another option is to use a trust and other responsible persons could keep the item.
Why would you bother to go through all that BS and then have your weapons or weapon accessories registered isn't that kind of an oxymoron... just not worth it and just not worth it for a novelty.
woah woah woah. You can't be shooting 9mm on a .223 SBR. You registered that gun with the ATF as being a certain caliber...definitely don't post videos of you breaking the NFA...wow.
You are completely wrong that it is illegal. It is perfectly acceptable to change calibers and I always have the original upper available to go back to. If you want to see some ways that it is done, actually do some research, such as this post from National Gun Trusts: www.nationalguntrusts.com/blogs/nfa-gun-trust-atf-information-database-blog/changing-your-sbr-upper-with-a-different-caliber-than-the-registered-lower#:~:text=Changing%20your%20SBR%20upper%20with%20a%20different%20caliber%20than%20the,The%20answer%20is%20yes.
AdventureColorado - Thanks I been looking for instructions on this. I’m looking to use my Bushmaster M4 lower with to a 10.5” 300BLK. Is it better to use a trust or individual? Hopefully it won’t be too much of a hassle.
@@TheDnlnext There are advantages and disadvantages to either route. My first couple suppressors were done as an individual, the next two and the SBR were done as a trust. If you want to E-File, you will have to do a trust, as individual e-file isn't available. The trust also allows you to have other people on it that you trust.
AdventureColorado - Great, and thanks for the prompt response. I just order my first can about a month ago with a trust through SilencerShop - I assume I could just by another single shot trust and file my forms since fingerprints and all info is already filed. Thanks posting your informative videos.

Nope
How long did your E-file form one take?
AdventureColorado you can expect 3-5 weeks waiting period, this is Texas Times, I’m not sure of other states.

I'm already trying to decide on the next one...

@@AdventureColorado Thank you so much! Do you have any preferences on suppressors? My 7.5 5.56 is quite concussive.
@@justicew186 switch the barrel to a 300 blackout 10.5. I had the same build and the recoil would literally bruise my shoulder.
What range are you at in Colorado?
It's near Dumont, it's a private range, but Clear Creek County is looking at turning it into a public range.
AdventureColorado is it clear creek county sportsman’s club? If it is I actually just got my membership there
Yes it is.
AdventureColorado nice! Let’s hope they don’t decide on turning it into a public range
I agree, the people there are much safer than a typical public range and I appreciate getting access to a pistol bay to yourself.
Im on day 98 of waiting for my form 1 .
Was that as an E-file?
@@AdventureColorado Yea
Call them.
@@MoragTong_ I did they said they got my fingerprints and to watch my email its been 120 days as of today.

You could put an osprey on there, it will only suppress 1 shot though lol.
The Osprey would work for a PCC build.
what is that hand Guard
nvm
If I pass away, what will happen to my SBR and SBS?
