Thx Caleb. Id have several SBRs and suppressor's if there was no ATF. I don't feel like risking $200, and needing permission to move while i wait upwards of a year for approval and agree to be tyrannized.
Risking $200? If they prove you are a shit bag and deny you they refund your money. Permission to move? It takes 10 minutes to fill out two 5320.20s and mail them in. To me it sounds like you are either lazy or can’t pass an FBI background check. The more people that own NFA items is good. We can use the case of them being common place items to get the NFA abolished.

So I got the form 1 approved and now I have to get it engraved and I am done. The form 1 was approved in only 3 days! The direct thread suppressor was only $450.
"E-Forms is faster" - HA! I haven't seen any improvement in wait time. Did my first form 4 using e-forms on April 4. It is now November 16 and I am still waiting.
Who fucking cares? You can be one of the girls hiding in your mothers basement while I fly all around the country with my legal sbrs, short barreled shotgun and silencers. Have a nice day loser.
Considering the e-form 4 was just released this year, and people have gotten their stamp backs already, it's faster. I don't know a single person who got their paper stamp back in less than a year.
Incorrect. Eform form 4 has been around since 2021. Current wait times for efile form 4 is 300 days. I efiled for a can January 7th and got approved April. I got lucky and filed before the rush.
so do you have to buy a sbr first and then file a form 4 or do you fill out a form 4 submit it and then once approved you can buy a sbr. idk why this confused me.
Great info Caleb! Been loving the E-File system for Form 1s as of late. Wait times have went up bit...over a month for approvals. Still waiting on an E-File form 4 for a suppressor that was certified back in May.
Why does everyone keep saying certified? What’s to be certified, I submitted an eform1 and didn’t see anything that said certified or got anything that said certified
The $200 is one thing (our government steals from us daily anyway) but registration always eventually leads to confiscation and engraving the receivers will decrease the value.
If you sbr something your never selling it unless it's a factory sbr that's desirable like a mk18 or something. Basically once you sbr it that shits yours until you die. So value doesn't even play into it.
My local shop got a SilencerShop kiosk. When I bought my first suppressor, I also set up a trust. Took almost a year to get it finished. Now I want to build a SBR, & add it to my trust. Can I do this on the eForm 1? When I set up my trust and everything, the shop owner allowed me to use the SilencerShop kiosk for my/wife’s fingerprints & such. Not sure how the process works, trying to do it online. They complicate the process so much; for average law abiding citizens it’s hard to stay in compliance even when trying 100%.
@@gifthorse3675 one question that hangs me up on the paperwork. “What is the overall length of the SBR?” Like well, I wouldn’t know because assembling it would be illegal unless you use a pistol lower? So if you don’t have a pistol lower to throw the upper on & get a measurement, how would you know without breaking the law? & if they really wanted to get you, wouldn’t that be enough? Just answering that question. Makes no sense.
Would having a CPL (concealed pistol license)help in Michigan? Here they now use your drivers license photo on your CPL also. Great video! Thank you all.
My question is about the timing. If you have to get a new tax stamp for each item, so you can't just get a tax stamp and then go shopping for an SBR, how do you buy an SBR without a tax stamp? You buy the SBR, then apply for the tax stamp, but you can't use the item? Can you possess the item while you're waiting? You just can't use it?
You pretty much nailed it. You buy the item and the store keeps it till Uncle Sam approves. If it's a suppressor you can purchase it at some ranges that will give you visitation rights until you can take it home.
Do you have to purcashe a specifc firearm lets say daniel defense mk18sbr first to start the process or do you start the process then purchase the firearm?
So if I have a B&T GHM9 it looks like I need a form 1. I’ll go to the eform site and see how complicated it is lol. Where does everyone get fingerprints done at?
Is that really how simple it is? I never understood why people would register if all it takes is literally swapping a brace for a stock with no additional steps required
@@BitMicrobe yes. But if for some reason you were ever caught with an unregistered sbr by someone who knows what they’re looking at then it could be big trouble. Up to ten years in prison, up to 250k in fines, loss of that firearm and loss of the right to own firearms as you would be a felon. So many people register to avoid all that.
AR-15 lower, you covered submitting multiple calibers, such as 5.56/.300 black out, but would i have to be barrel specific? Say I have a 8.5 and 10.5 upper for .300 black out, do I need to list every one? or if I have one, can i add another short barrel later if I already have the tax stamp for another barrel length same caliber, or is it, once I have the tax stamp, and the lower is marked, can I then add any barrel length i want without having to change the trust?
Hi Caleb, just wanted to ask if there is any mentioned of any type length measurements of rifle you need to input on the forms? if, so how go about measuring? thanks!
Are the passport photos carried over like the fingerprints on the e-forms or do you have to resubmit them every time? Also great explanation of the process, I know one requirement explained in the form process was mailing a letter to the local law enforcement agency. if you could expound on that maybe or if it’s even a requirement anymore. Thank You
The easiest way is go to a gun store with the SilencerShop kiosk. They take your pic, do your fingerprints and submit all at one time. They make it so easy you won't believe it.
I bought a complete rifle lower, thinking I would be getting a 14.5” pin and weld setup. Now I’m seriously thinking about just turning that lower into an SBR. I HAVE NOT BOUGHT AN UPPER OF ANY KIND. I don’t see any way this can be a problem, as long as I wait for my tax stamp before buying an upper. Any knowledgeable advice would be greatly appreciated.
If you file as an individual but later decide you want a trustee can you convert to a trust and add trustees. Also even if you start as a trust, can you add additional trustees down the road?
Do you have to get a passport? I have a driver's license with the gold star on it for gov buildings. Also, I've been finger printed by my local sheriff for my occupation but I would need to do that again? Also, also, if I were to order the parts for a SBR and build it my self that would be a form 1? And if I bought it from a gun store it would be a form 4? What's the easiest or best way to go about it? Seems like it would be just buying a pistol and changing the brace
ya know I was just thinking w/ all the accessory possibilities we should make a program where consumers can view their product and outfit it and try it w/ different accessories in 3D. Of course something would have to be done to the proprietary models so they wouldn't be vulnerable to extracting data and counterfitting. And the engine could apply to more than just one industry. So if a customer wanted a 3D view they could get that and then if they wanted to break down a Field Strip it would show that. Wanted to see parts in certian assemblies see that like Bolt Carrage Assembly for cleaning it would show that w/ maybe some little instructions. This idea keeps hitting me. Could make one for Bikes too. What do you guys think ?
A trust will help you if you have a family I would think. If you only have yourself on the form then if your family has to use it in an emergency or just if they could handle it from your safe then they might be facing federal charges. The time and money spent to set up that trust could save you a lot of lawyers fees, fines, and maybe jail time. Just my thought.
Man I appreciate how you broke this down. This is literally the first video Iv ever seen somebody actually make sense of the entire process. Thanks man.
What if you bought a stripped lower during a great sale with the intention of building your first AR, had it sent to the FFL, did the background check and transfer and all that, and then later decided on building it up as an SBR? What then? Can you RE-register your previously registered and serialized lower as an SBR? How does that work?
with form 1 do you bypass the intercommerce federal law of purchasing arms from across state lines... being your ar is assembled yourself within state lines?
Did the eForm 4, waited nine months and was not approved because the photo which was passport size came out to small on ATF side. Now have to start the process all over again. Time invested so far 18 months. Like a prison sentence for following the law.
That may be the "average" according to them but the r/nfa reddit page has a much more realistic eform4 thread to follow. I certified my eform4 for a silencer March 31st, it was approved December 16th. 260 days. I certified a eform1 SBR May 25th, and it was approved June 2nd. That's the current realistic timeframe.
The best way to get an sbr is to get rid of the ATF and NFA.

Due to ATF's Amnesty program I didn't have to pay the $200 tax stamp and once approved they checked "tax exempt" on my approved eForm 1. Good luck! (Sidenote, there's guys who are still waiting for their approved eForms, looks like I got lucky.)
I just got mine back in 9 days….over the holidays too. Crazy fast.
A detailed video on how to properly measure your gun for the form 1 would be a great help.
I'm at 9 months on eforms still waiting...ridiculous!
Good video, thanks!
did my sbr form 1 through eforms. I got an approval in about a week
Part 1: install short barrel
Part 2: attach stock
Done
I was told to do it in a single caliber. After you get your😊 stamp send atf a letter adding all of the other calibers. No fee or permit needed. It’s just a notification letter.
Good point regarding the transfer with the tax stamp.
Great video you got me thinking. My scenario is I already have a terminal diagnosis, and, want an SBR. I now get to decide how my gun trust gets written, and, whether I include my wife (who bought me most of my guns) and/or my son. Only kidding guys,. My wife will be on the trust too.
An Excellent Informative Video as Usual!
240 days out on one eform4, 183 on the other.
They must not like you. I never had to wait longer than 3 months.
@@aarondmason808 For form 1, 4, or other ?
Thx Caleb. Id have several SBRs and suppressor's if there was no ATF. I don't feel like risking $200, and needing permission to move while i wait upwards of a year for approval and agree to be tyrannized.
Thankfully suppressors and pistols don’t require permission to move
@@amogoose5638 Not yet, I'm sure some democrat politician is working on that next.
@@richb.4374 If you think a Democrat is what you gotta be afraid of you haven't been doing much digging in terms of firearm history.
@@nomad155 Both sides suck...one sucks worse. I'm fully aware that republicans have signed anti gun crap into law too. Democrats are more relentless about it.
So I got the form 1 approved and now I have to get it engraved and I am done. The form 1 was approved in only 3 days!
Just ordered a suppressor today, paid the $200 doc stamp and the wait continues.
.300 Blackout, 8.5 inch barrel with Griffin Armament suppressor. They give 30% off for veterans. The direct thread suppressor was only $450.
"E-Forms is faster" - HA! I haven't seen any improvement in wait time. Did my first form 4 using e-forms on April 4. It is now November 16 and I am still waiting.
But you could just do “crime” it’s the fastest
What do you expect? Starting mid January everyone and their mother efiled form 4s. I was smart and filed early. I got approved in 2 months 24 days.
@@aarondmason808 You keep flexing your quick approval times on people yet you're the one to laugh at since you're the one who complied. Lol.
Who fucking cares? You can be one of the girls hiding in your mothers basement while I fly all around the country with my legal sbrs, short barreled shotgun and silencers. Have a nice day loser.

You should make a video where you actually put the information in for the eform 1 and discuss frequent mistakes like putting in the wrong model number
I can't wait for the Form 1/4/5 DNA requirement!
Sadly that's more than likely coming Lance. Wouldn't surprise me one damn bi.
Eforms turnaround times are *sometimes* shorter
Considering the e-form 4 was just released this year, and people have gotten their stamp backs already, it's faster. I don't know a single person who got their paper stamp back in less than a year.
Incorrect. Eform form 4 has been around since 2021. Current wait times for efile form 4 is 300 days. I efiled for a can January 7th and got approved April. I got lucky and filed before the rush.
Excellent explanation, thank you for sharing.....
so do you have to buy a sbr first and then file a form 4 or do you fill out a form 4 submit it and then once approved you can buy a sbr. idk why this confused me.
@@elitetilesetting1909 the certification process is for Form 4 transfers, not a Form 1
Yeah machineguns have totally gone down in price because of the engraving……
My receiver cost me $59. I think I can live with that.
They don’t do SBR’s anymore because screw stream lining tyranny right.
This video was posted 11 months ago. If you filed for an SBR the day this released you may have just gotten it.
These videos are always helpful. Just gets straight to the point, no A to Z just A to B.
Super easy with silencer shop! Approvals in two days for both of mine.
Thanks for the info.
That green SBR looks like a toy rifle I had as a kid ...😊
I WANT IT! ❤
I just watched part one and now two.
Great video and very informative.
Awesome video, great info, thank you!
How do I navigate to United States of Caleb? USC?
Would love some clarification about “Made in Arizona” sbr laws please
So if I have a B&T GHM9 it looks like I need a form 1. I’ll go to the eform site and see how complicated it is lol. Where does everyone get fingerprints done at?
I laughed at this whole video. A trust.... Trust I do what I want!
Agreed This whole series has such a defeatist attitude.
Caleb's just telling it like it is at the moment if you want to be legal. It's up to you to choose to do whatever you want.
Maybe put a link in the description for part 1?
Thank you for a very helpful and informative video, rather than complaining and moaning about the process.
The bad news is when filing the EForm, you must submit your Finger Prints as Scanned EFT's which is difficult to get...
I want to know what paperwork i need to fill out for one of those AT4"s behind you. 😉
How to make an sbr.
Step 1: remove brace
Step 2: drink beer
Step 3: put on stock
Step 4: drink beer
Step 5: don’t post online/tell people about it
Is that really how simple it is? I never understood why people would register if all it takes is literally swapping a brace for a stock with no additional steps required
@@BitMicrobe yes. But if for some reason you were ever caught with an unregistered sbr by someone who knows what they’re looking at then it could be big trouble. Up to ten years in prison, up to 250k in fines, loss of that firearm and loss of the right to own firearms as you would be a felon. So many people register to avoid all that.
@@itsamk18-ish good to know, thanks for replying man lol.
I know 2 people who did E Forms and it's 4 1/2 months still no approval
I met a gentleman in my local gun shop who has been waiting over a year for his suppressor stamp to be approved...ridiculous.
@@richb.4374 would have been a paper form then, the eform 4 has only been around since January of this year.

can you make a video on how to do private sales of an sbr
Very informative thanks for the video
Please do a video on what to do once I receive the approved email. Meaning do I just print out the PDF and that's it?
Or, "How to Grovel for a Shorter Shoot Tube".
I want to know more about that upper receiver.
AR-15 lower, you covered submitting multiple calibers, such as 5.56/.300 black out, but would i have to be barrel specific? Say I have a 8.5 and 10.5 upper for .300 black out, do I need to list every one? or if I have one, can i add another short barrel later if I already have the tax stamp for another barrel length same caliber, or is it, once I have the tax stamp, and the lower is marked, can I then add any barrel length i want without having to change the trust?
great topic, wish yall made a video how to for e forms, step by step ... I know there are videos out there but I like yalls channel. would be great.
Its easy bro, just do it you'll see
Hi Caleb, just wanted to ask if there is any mentioned of any type length measurements of rifle you need to input on the forms? if, so how go about measuring?
Thank You
It takes 2 seconds to upload a jpeg image of yourself from your desktop.
@ABC XYZ Fingerprint cards never expire, so you don't have to redo them. Passport photos are good for 6 months
What if I don't have a passport?
I like the gun stand, is it homemade, 3d printed etc ?
What about if after you get the nfa stamp, you want to swap between the 16" barrel and a short barrel ?
Completely legal to swap different uppers as long as the gun is returned to its register configuration.
Six weeks on form 1. Still waiting.
Can a trust be set up after the fact?
Yup
great job as everytime
The casual javelin in the corner
Can you do one of these on suppressors too?
Right? He was teasing us with them sitting there 😂
The easiest way is go to a gun store with the SilencerShop kiosk.
Great information.
ya know I was just thinking w/ all the accessory possibilities we should make a program where consumers can view their product and outfit it and try it w/ different accessories in 3D.
The rifle you have there is I remember right it has a 16inc barrel since the muzzle is pin or welded on so that would not be a sbr....right?
Man I appreciate how you broke this down. This is literally the first video Iv ever seen somebody actually make sense of the entire process. Thanks man.
how can you take your sbr to a gunsmith for cleaning or some kind of repair and legally leave it with that person ?
Most of them have their SOT
I had to leave a copy of my tax stamp with the gun smith who was doing a cerakote job on my integrally suppressed 9mm rifle.
Repeal the NFA
How could you fill out a form5 to transfer if you're dead?
Don't die. LOL
So buffer length doesn’t correlate to barrel length ??
What if you bought a stripped lower during a great sale with the intention of building your first AR, had it sent to the FFL, did the background check and transfer and all that, and then later decided on building it up as an SBR? What then? Can you RE-register your previously registered and serialized lower as an SBR? How does that work?
Why is there no link to the part 1 video? Or my simply not finding it
Where does the lower have to be engraved is there a location called out?
with form 1 do you bypass the intercommerce federal law of purchasing arms from across state lines... being your ar is assembled yourself within state lines?
Did the eForm 4, waited nine months and was not approved because the photo which was passport size came out to small on ATF side. Now have to start the process all over again. Time invested so far 18 months. Like a prison sentence for following the law.
Just called the ATF to check in on my eForm 4. Agent told me average 180 days. It's been 4 months so far, so eForms are no longer quicker.
I efiled a form 1 June 6th. It got approved August 24th.
All paper forms I have done were over a year, so 4 months doesn't sound bad
That may be the "average" according to them but the r/nfa reddit page has a much more realistic eform4 thread to follow. I certified my eform4 for a silencer March 31st, it was approved December 16th. 260 days. I certified a eform1 SBR May 25th, and it was approved June 2nd. That's the current realistic timeframe.
