Let's be honest, the Sims 4 didn't start going downhill when Growing Together came out, it went downhill on launch day. Day 1 the game was broken, and it has never been fixed. When you pile crab on top of crap, it turns to sh$t. That's what the Sims team has been doing since launch day. Piling crap broken packs on top of a crap broken base game. Until they address the base game's brokenness, the game will continue to be broken. They can "patch" it but patches aren't fixes.

Yeah, This game was doomed from day one. They need to wrap it up and call it a day.
I don't have any packs, kits, don't use mods, straight up vanilla play with just a couple of the freebies like that guitar, I haven't even been able to log in for two days and when I do log in it keeps sending messages that I have no internet connection and won't allow me into the gallery.
Just the fact that a LIFE SIMULATION GAME lauched without TODDLERS (and pools, too) was already strange, at least!
I bought base game on day one and it took me like 3 years to finally be able to play it after putting money in the DLCs.... Still remember the disappointment when I excitedly starting playing it and realised they had removed so many features (some of which they added in free patches) and after an hour, I felt like I had already done and seen everything...

I'm not buying the Sims 5. I had enough of going through the ups and downs of Sims 4. I didn't like how negative the Sims community was/is, but I can clearly see now that it's not negativity at this point but pure frustration and disappointment with the Sims 4. At first, bugs didn't bother me in the game, but it got worse as they released more content. I know the sims 5 will be free to play but they will charge us for everything so truly it is not free:)
I won't either. It's EA's behaviour that causes the problems, and even if the game isn't a buggy mess, their cash-grabby, manipulative and intransparent attitude won't change with a new game. Giving the players a game for 1000 $ (about the price of base game and all packs in 2023) that doesn't even work is not a mistake if you keep churning out packs - it's a business model.

Play the older games from now on, don't invest in future games from EA. As much as it pains me too, being a simmer all my life, it simply can't go on like this. We've all invested far too much into TS4 to quit it, but we have yet to invest into anything that comes after. And personally, I WILL NEVER invest in the "after". I'm convinced that they're actively trying to kill the franchise, as if "pRoJeCt ReNe" wasn't enough of a clue already.

I would love to see an organized protest with the sims community to not pay for ANY content for a month or at least two weeks. And see how EA squirms! They don’t listen to us because they don’t have to, we’ll buy anything that comes out.
I’ve been talking to other Australian simmers, and I swear to God I’m genuinely thinking of reporting them to the ACCC. They gotta be breaking the ACLs we have. They’re literally selling a broken product. That’s flat out not allowed, regardless if it’s a digital product or it’s being sold by a company overseas.
It’s happened before. When EA tried to get there ‘No Refunds’ bs off the ground, the ACCC slammed them for it because it’s against our ACLs.
You hit the nail on the 1 percent head. Players have the power by not continue to buy these untested products. EA needs to hear we are tired of this bullshit by cutting off the piggy bank.
I'm afraid there are too many "new" ts4 players. I'm in 2 builders groups on fb and no one cares that ts4 is broken, once I even got into discussion, when I said that ts2 and 3 are much better gameplay wise and don't seem to be play-pretend. Yet they replied that ts2 looks outdated and it is easy to install mods for ts4. So I don't know if they don't know how fun sims can be or they want it to just look pretty.

I have been playing Sims since 2000, and 2021 was the year I stopped buying.
I have No CC and no MODS in my game, that said I don't have any new packs or kits. My game has nothing in it. The maps are all empty. I opened CAS and no sims were loading. My game is Empty. I tried to log into Answers HQ but, It would not let me log in. I posted the pics to X but i haven't seen anyone else with is problem. Hope I'm the only one but i don't think they will fix it.
Oh wow. This is crazy. The state of this game is insane, I don’t know if I have any more words to say nor patience to play anymore or even care at this point.
Check your Tray folder. That's the folder that contains all the maps, lots, DLC, Sims, both the townies and those that you created and anything you downloaded from the gallery.
My guess is that it have been emptied one way or another. Try repairing the game. At least, it should restore the game to «out of the box» state. Hope that you put your creation on the gallery so that you may recover at least some of your work.

for now, i left the sims 4. its uninstalled. moved onto skyrim and some other games. having my main save be corrupted when 4 rent came out, that was just the breaking point.

(A) Many players are addicted thanks to EA's predatory tactics and (B) the Sims has a monopoly on life Sims. For now. I have a feeling Sims boycotts will actually take off when major competitors drop.
The last pack I bought was the high school one. Everybody was (rightfully) upset because it was buggy, and one of the SimGurus said something to the effect of “You all decide what is produced by voting with your wallets. It can’t be that bad if you keep buying.” So I said forget it. I’ve hardly played the game since and, as I said, haven’t purchased a thing.

The game has been broken since launch, the packs and patches just open the cracks more and more from ignorable glitches to things that literally stop gameplay.

My current survival delusion is that they'll cool it with the packs and update the game's decades old engine. There really is no excuse for how far they've gone without doing so. They could ask for volunteers today and thousands of people would come running for free

It really sucks that it has gotten to this point. Literally the only thing that keeps us playing the game is modders. And we can’t have fix everything. EA literally needs to put the money we stupidly put into this game into resources for Maxis to either fix the game or get a good lawyer. Because we are frustrated.

This is a clear sign that the ppl at the EA and Maxis are refusing to look at thier programming code to fix. I've said this before but the code to the game is probably such a meses that it'd probably take weeks or even months to untangle and fix.....
Are they possibly testing a pre teen life stage? a height slider? It dont make sense jewlery would broke sims body programing wise.
Testing should not be done by players, and should not effect an already purchased game.

I don’t find that to be true. There’s definitely a lot of bi/pan Sims, but I’ve encountered multiple ones that reject a Sim because of their preferences.

I have this problem where my sims, “can’t walk over to” the fridge or the stove when it’s completely open and they can walk over there without doing a task.
after everything i went through tonight… this game is actually dead to me. you know it’s bad when the files for the base game itself are all “errored” on your computer. clearing cache didn’t help. repairing through EA didn’t help. trying to download updated versions of my mods, and every single one is downloading as “error” when transferred into my mods folder. so help me god, if they don’t send out an update to fix all of their BS, consider this the start of my boycott.

Honestly with how bad the spaghetti code is for this game, a full recode is desperately needed. No more trying to fix it, just start over and recode the entire fucking game.
My aunt had a lady who's legs were missing, I had a merman who was always in fish form, his tail acted as his right leg, and his left one was invisible.
It's crappy that all in all, they just really care about their earnings more so than keeping their fan base happy.
Maybe they should start by fixing For Rent which destroyed my Save File (and no I don’t play with any mods). EA needs to stop paying a commission to Creators to sell packs and pay them to troubleshoot their packs before release. #BoycottSims

Honestly for me, the biggest problem that I have had with Sims 4 down. Mind you, I play on the PS5 via the p. S4 version.
It seems like every time that I spend more than 2:03 hours playing. It will just randomly crash. Cause I usually play around 6 PM to around 2 AM. When my husband gets home because it's his system, I would be playing longer.
But around 10:50 PM it would just crash for no reason.
I've sent multiple tickets. I've talked to them via my phone and I've gotten no response back and it is driving me insane.
Especially since I'm trying to do that. Whole rags of riches via a scenario. This is the second SIM that I have done and the first one I had played for like 6 hours straight didn't save because I forgot that did not have an auto save.

I kept crashing.And kept having a lot of issue , so I think those are the two ones that were having a lot of issues
But I know as of right now like i've been able to play a couple hours without the game crashing
And I didn't notice what the base game just going. I wasn't having any issues so at the very least. I narrowed it down. I'm just slowly adding the packs. That I did have on to see which ones are actually causing the issues.
And if it wasn't for the fact that it keeps crashing and closing a game, I would be able to get video of what is happening. But the very least, I'm sitting out. Hey, this happened. Help fix this with a video via PlayStation. So maybe something can be done and I tried talking about this on the Reddit page and I've not gotten any response. No one's saying Hey yeah, this is why this is happening or anything like that nor via the Twitter account either.
I love the Sims 4 always have but when I heard people complaining about how the Sims 4 doesn't work properly because of too many bug issues that make the game whole lot bullshit and I agree that it's stupid EA fault because they are not always bringing out the best for us simmers. Wish EA would do better with this game.
I thankfully didnt have a lot of issues with bugs (except the day after the free update where i couldnt give gifts to other sims in the valentines holiday), but I have emost of the packs

I bought the game back in 2017 and through the next years bought Get to Work, City Living, Get Together, Cats and Dogs, Vampires and Parenthood (basically all the ones that came out before it started getting worse and worse). I actually wanted to buy more but most of them didnt call my attention or felt uncomplete compared to the cost. When kits came out I was already old enough to see the scam EA truly was so now i just play when i want and 🏴☠
Someone needs to grill EA on the "EA background service" app that won't close even after exiting the sims 4 game, it sits running in your background processing even after you close your game and exit out of EA's app. I remember having issues with the game and to fully refresh my crashing issue I had to open task manager, force close this app and then reopen the game. Why is it even running in my background when I have exited all EA applications? I wanted to see how long it would stay running in my background so I exited the EA client back when it was origin and left my computer for 24 hours, the program was still running, it only closes if I force it close! Even now it is running in my background process although I didn't open the game today, but b.c I opened it yesterday and didn't force the app closed using end task in task manager, it is still running. That is some scummy tracking on EA's part. No game should have a background program running AFTER you close everything involved with the game, and to make the ONLY way of closing it be a force close using task manager is shady.
I am so glad I didn't buy For Rent or Creations whatever. Paralives is where it's at. People are just fed up. And them adding that damn cart feature that pulsated and flashed was tbe last straw for a lot of people. People are going to continue to buy from EA though because people are gullible. Fed up but still gullible. Thats why EA keeps doing this. Because they know people (pissed off or not) will continue to buy them. Why bother fixing something if you know people are going to buy it regardless?

I had a 3 year old save file get corrupted recently and that shit broke me it was the last straw I’ve been playing the sims 3 or the sims medieval instead of the sims 4. I’m done, I’m waiting until these other new life simulation games come out and I can give those a try but I’m done with this damn game

I was wondering why, when I moved, my sims suddenly had a million sim dollars. I had to cheat their money back down. So weird. It must be one of the weird bugs they need to fix.
Ive experienced a fun glitch only on one of my lots after expanding the room by one square.
Every buy item or objecti put there disappears. Even if i move it to the space its gone. (so now there's a gap in my kitchen counters)
Even if the great majority of people stopped buying their packs, you would still get all the bugs because of the updates that go with them packs, which you would have no choice but to download as they drop bug fixes in with them updates so every time they do an update, they try and fix some past bugs, while delivering more bugs to you in the update for the next pack..
Apparently, from what someone said, the playtesters don't even get payed. They need to report bugs to someone above them, who only gets paid for a tiny amount of bugs reported, so it's actively incentivized to just report a couple bugs and leave the rest unreported
Thank goodness i managed to Bypass the Update... I saw people complaining about their Sims characters being corrupted and i was like No way... im glad i bypassed the update

Mod creators like Sacrificial and Turbodriver have come out and reported save killing issues with the moodlets disappearing from the newest update.
All I wanted was to play The Sims 3: World Adventures, but it doesn't work. I noticed that 4 was free, but it is SO BROKEN.
I have the sims 4 and 11 packs Seasons, Get famous, University, Island living, Eco, Cats & Dogs, City Living, Get to work the two stuff packs EA released for free and yes Batuu. Yet since the release of For rent I haven't played it because watching James Turner with all the bugs that he delt with I stop playing it and just continued playing the more superior version Sims 3. Yes it is a laggy mess if you don't use Nrass mods but you don't have to sit though 3 waiting screens just to visit your neighbor who lives in the same building. Also That game has cars, imaginary friends and fairies. Things simmers have been asking for. They need to stop pushing out packs and then expecting modders to fix problems.
I mean modders fixed Sims 3 as well when EA abandoned it. I think the best thing EA could do for sims 4 is stop touching it as they seem talented at making it worse. 😂
I adore the sims franchise. For me, at least, I dropped when TS4 first came out. I guess I am an older simmer nowadays. Maybe not super old, but older. I grew up with 1 and 2, and while 3 had dropped alot of details, it made up for it with the open world. 4 had neither the detail nor the open world, so I dropped it. That was 10 years ago, now, and I am surprised it had made as much money as it did.
The freaking updates is what is killing me! I get a new mod in the game and the S4 update messes it up! Mods is the only reason to play the game
EA do have quality control and play test teams counting in the millions. It's us, the players.
Disappearing moodlets : There is a small mod by Turbodriver that do correct it. Yes, that Turbodeiver who make Wonderful Whims and Wicked Whims.
Disappearing lots ? WOW !!!!!!!!!!!! What a game breaker and show stopper ! That may be the single worst and damaging bug ever in The Sims, 1 to 4. The only worst bug was that one from MS Front Page that will totally wipe your C: drive if you saved a project on a non default, and unique, location and then delete that project.
The game came out broken 😅 but now the new updates and crystal pack completely broke me game….. I started playing the sims 3 again and just can’t get into it 😅 help

I can't even load my family or a new sim. I thought it was because my family (which is a royal family) was too large because I altered the family size to 15 to fill a palace. I then thought it would load if I used a single sim but hella noooo! it still would not load! I think my mods are fine cause I've scanned for 3 days with better exceptions and it's not finding anything wrong with my mods. I don't want to erase my script mods and start over. I have ones that affect the game deeply and erasing them would ruin it. what do I do!

I don't even use this gem pack and I can't even log into the game, just sits there trying to connect until I get bored of looking at it. I log in using my Google account, I'm online everywhere but in the game. I've only started playing this a few months ago and have had tons of issues, particularly messages saying I have no internet connection, I check and my connection is secure, not sure what the hell is happening.

Sims 2 is now my go to game. And Sims 3. I haven’t played Sims 4 for months because I knew it was going to get buggier and buggier to the point that it would ruin my saves and become unplayable. EA needs to start fixing the game but I know they won’t until Sims 5 is out and then probably won’t touch 4 again. Yeah EA is the Mcdonalds of gaming companies.
The community hasnt done themselves any favours, they complain about every pack and then immediately forget everything cus EA just advertised a new pack and it adds that one thing we wanted!!
Why bother with quality control or quality assurance when people still buy your half baked dlc at full price anyways. How did simmers go from the goliath sims 3 packs rammed with content, gameplay and quality to the sims 4s constant stream of mediocrity and shrinkflation without batting an eye and just accepting the new low.

I never understood why would someone play sims 4 when Sims3 and Sims2 exist. It has honestly been one of the biggest disappointments. I remember how excited I was when I got the game in 2014, and I got bored after an hour of playing. And it’s still boring

Make the game for the Simmers who have loved and played since TS1. They need to remember who we are and its sad cause we all know they don't care about the original fanbase.

This is after last night's update? I was playing last night without issue...I don't have the new pack. When I exited for the night, there was another update. I haven't played yet to test it out. I didn't really understand the moodlet issue so I'm not really sure if I had that or not. Moodlets change constantly, so I don't understand the impact that would have.
There are invisible moodlets with timers so they impact things like pregnancy and mourning dead family members. Even occult transformations are linked to moodlets. It’s not just about the emotion cycle. Even aging has code locked to moodlets. I didn’t realizing how game corrupting this could be over time til it was explained.

It looks to me like the Sims team has completely given up on Sims 4 at this point, because right now they're focused on their next cash grab "project Renee".
And let's face it, as much as we complain y'all still gonna buy Sims 5.
EA has no soul, but they know business. While all these precious indie companies take years and years for development of their product, EA will give us Sims 5 in like a year.
And I'm sad about it as much as the next guy, however let's be realistic.

I think the last pack i bought was reqlm of magic. They got my ass with the high school pack though, I slipped up, but that was it. They play too much 😂, and people just keep buying.
The Sims 4 is bugging, yes. I have bugs in my game but it doesn't bother me. I understand the community is getting mad and frustrated with it. However, EA, the ceo, and the higher-ups make the shots. I know the bugs got fixed.
So maybe someone can help me, for the past 2 days my sims 4 game will not upload. It will tell me a game is alr launched but i do not see it at all, it'll then crash (no pop up just the button will turn blue again) i have repaired the game, control access folder, uninstall reinstall, move the folder, clear cache, restart my pc yet still nothing. I Clicked the game today it says preparing game and it's still loading. Idk if this is going on for others but ik i seen a few people who said they had the same issue. Please help somebody
Im glad I havent updated my game. Im cutting it off completely. No more new packs, no more patches, I am freezing my game as it is, donions. Sayonara, piece of crap game. Tired of being depressed bc of a game from a company that dont give a rats ass.
I am playing right now after the update and everything is 100% fine. I don't have the best PC and I have a few mods and cc.
