I am so glad that their is a tribute to the Vicente Calderon in English. This is no longer a team that is only known in Madrid, Spain. This is now an international team that everyone knows about. I personally wish they built a new stadium in the same location, but what is done is done.
Yes Atleti has a really great fan base. Not that big like barca or real. But Atleti has got an international fanbase from Asia to South America as well
I went to a game in the Calderon two years ago with friends, against Almeria. One of the most beautiful stadiums I've ever been to. And the Atletico supporters were really friendly and made us feel welcome. So sad that this is the end for the stadium. Saludos desde Holanda!
Ben Jr Owiriwa have you ever been to Madrid? No. stop glory hunting and support you're local team. Probably a Manchester City fan but like Manchester United as well
Total respect to your club you gave us Torres at Liverpool F C, you are a club with the same as us hard working backgrounds, You live you feel the history of your club , you can take your so called big clubs like Real and Barca but they are bought by big investors just like in our league . But like you we want to win and every game is a cup final .You need to move on and keep winning and break the existance that the others have , my Grandmother was from Madrid and like her im a big fan, unless we ever meet . Long live LIVERPOOL LONG LIVE ATLETICO MADRID.
Great video!! Im a huge Everton fan but have always liked Atlético!! Defo my fave spanish team.Everton fans will soon feel the same sadness when we leave Goodison park😩 Buenas suerte Atleti👍
Years later, we still cry this loss , Calderon was our home, was in our hearts, and now it seems there is a emptyness that new stadium didn't fulfill ... Thanks for this video, for atleticos it is so emotive to see it again with this quality video
But the new stadium is modern, bigger, better facilities, easier to get into and out and safer, most likely. They've should upgrade Calderon, but it would've been probably harder and costlier, so they built Wanda Metropolitano.
I had tears watching this video. I am an Atleti fan from America and I feel so lucky that I was able to see a game in the Calderon before they moved. The history we have in this stadium is incredible and it's moving that this hub is getting destroyed and the team is moving across the city.
abdullah hussian true, same as why arsenal's stadium now is shit yet highbury was a great stadium. The only thing to make it feel like home is that clock from the old highbury clockend
Englands two most successful clubs haven't moved stadiums yet even tho both are playing relatively shit compared to how they used to play so I don't see why these clubs like West Ham move stadium for success. They should build up their history and create success.
@RAVEN AK47 West Ham , a big club ? Next joke , please . When was the last time you won something ? 😂 The FA Cup in 1980 ... 4 major trophies in your history , is not really that much , to be considered a big club .
@RAVEN AK47 Hmm , Real wins a title almost every year , West Ham won their last title , like 40 years ago . Maybe you were an important club in the '70-80 , but that's about it . A team from my country , Astra Giurgiu beat West Ham twice ...
Great video man!!! As an atlético fan I can only say: Bravo! You have grasped what it means and what it feels to be an atlético fan, and the attachment we have to our Calderón. The new stadium will be great, but we will always remember our calderón.
I'm a Real Madrid fan from Malaysia and I had a chance to visit this stadium when I was in Madrid 3 years ago just before the UCL finals in Lisbon. Sat at the stadium pub and had a few beers. It is a truly a stadium in a neighborhood of working class people. Sad to know that the next time I visit Madrid the stadium won't be there anymore.
I maybe late but I'm a Malaysian Atletico fan since the days of Forlan and Aguero. It's my dream to go to the Caldèron. To me, it's one of the best places to watch football. It's weird that I never went there, but I'll miss the Caldèron
I am a Barç fan and I had the privilege of attending a great game in Estadio Vicente Calderón in Copa del Rey (FCB 3-2 ATM). I remember that glorious night, the whole.neighborhood around the stadium was filled with Rojiblanca supporters. The chants echoed between the alleys of Madrid. Then, the first moment when I entered the stadium, I fell in love with it. The ultras are one of the best in Spain and Europe. Although I support Barça, in that particular match, I cheered for Atletis goals. I shed a tear when I heard the news about the new stadium. It's gonna be away from that amazing neighborhood. That legendary atmosphere of El calderon could be lost forever. 💔 Saludos desde Mascate, Oman.
As a real madrid fan here(going through terrible time right now). This video surprised me and caught me the feels. This stadium has had wild experiences, will be missed extremely. Even the craziness of the champions league matches here also. Never be forgotten this stadium
As a Barca fan, I will always associate this stadium with doggedness and toughness. I will cherish the memories whenever Barca played against Atletico there, in particular in recent years many important matches have been played there. Even against other teams, the Calderon can bring out the brutality of all teams. I remember vividly last year against Sevilla in CDR final, Barca had to work on all cylinders, played with unusual tactics and go into extra time just to win. Just shows how the Calderon can impact teams
Wow another great video after the Terry one. Can you pls make a video about VfB Stuttgart. They got back to the first Bundesliga and have 50.000 Fans per game
MONTI 6098 Real Madrid got their money from winning trophies. Atletico's new stadium is named after a Japanese company. Who really is sacrificing history for money?
Real madrid won money from their trophies?? JAJAJAJAJ. listen, if you are from from real madrid i congratulate you because winning a trophy deserves it. But first know the details, money is a drug, and Atleti has won titles with and without money and the fans & culture are still the same. And i can give you 10000 similar examples not only the real madrid, Rayo vallecano with rumasa, valencia with peter lim, Getafe with Ágel Torres Sánchez,...
MONTI 6098 I won't deny that your fans are better but that's because Real is more of a global club so we have more tourist fans. It would be the same for Atletico if they were more successful. Look at Man United. They're England's most successful club and they're super rich and have thousands of plastic fans as well but at least that's fan money. Atletico are in danger of being grouped with teams like Man City and Chelsea who used rich owners to propel their teams to the top.
History is what makes a stadium, nothing can replace a first home, a new stadium could be the best, most up to date in the world and players and fans would still always miss the charm of the older ground, hate how football is just becoming one huge business
many of these new stadiums are simply soulless, Isolated shells on motorways or near industrial units. No character, no community. In short they are fcuking horrible despite the hype surrounding some of them.
Had the pleasure of touring the Calderon prior to the 16/17 season. You can tell it is a real working class area, very passionate people. Excited to go back to Madrid for a third time in August to see the new home of Atleti.
The PC Enthusiast and yet no one at WHL was hurt or attacked. Same goes for pretty much all end of season invasions. It's just an outpouring of emotion, not sure why that'd offend you.
I was there yesterday and it was one of the best and worst moments of my life. I have been a die hard Atleti fan since I was born and for 21 years, since I first entered when I was 1 year old, the Calderón has been my second home. It's going to be really weird to go across Madrid to watch the games. #EternoCalderón
Calderon was home Athletico madrid like no other future home gonna be. I would say they should never have changed their home stadium, they should have upgraded it. Even I am feeling sad about hearing this news after 3 years, I didn't knew it was changed, sad thing.
It still breaks my heart that they left that wonderful stadium. As soon as I moved to Madrid I was enamoured with Atleti and the Calderon and I went to as many games as I could afford. I've been to the Wanda and to be honest it's amazing but in a different way. I hope Atleti don't turn into a tourist team.
I'm happy to move to the Wanda Metropolitano it looks really nice but at the same time so sad to leave Vicente Calderón and as a fan from Britain I'm sad that I'll never get to go to that stadium😭
this stadium weather is overwhelming and frightening to other teams recently atletico became an elite force in europe i hope they continue that with their new stadium
i must say despite been a real madrid fan , el calderon was always a special staduim, the whole history of atletico was made there, it's not gonna be easy to get used to the new staduim but you never know
when they will see the first game in the new stadium they will love it. they will never forget the Calderon but a new stadium was necessary. football is changing . Juventus stadium has been a fortress for us. I have no doubt the atletico fans will make it home very quickly! great club ...great fans. so much louder than real and barca supporters.
The problem is that the club can not make big changes to the stadium. At the front we have Manzanares river, below a motorway (M30) and at the sides, streets and buildings which can´t be removed. 3 roads have to be closed in a match day becouse the people that goes to the stadium. The bus lines and the underground system are really far from the stadium and it has no parking for the spectators. They have space for nothing :/
Saw a game there against Barcelona several years back, bought four tickets day of only to get to the seats and realize one of them didn't even exist, kind of funny actually. Was an amazing experience (helped being in the Barca section as they won 2-1 on a Messi freekick goal), and it's tough to imagine them retaining that if they move clear across the city as it sounds like.
Against modern football. Too many real working class clubs are moving away from their roots into soulless arenas which will never become their true home!
Footy Updates they could build proper traditional looking unique grounds but the architects who design them just don’t have a clue about football or the importance of a ground. If it wasn’t for the Taylor report of 1990 which was complete bullshit, your team would still be at the Boleyn Ground, my team would still be at the Baseball Ground, Arsenal would still be at Highbury etc.
These are real fans, I have so much respect for Atletico. You can hear the passion in these people's voices!
💯💯
except when they attacked one of real madrids buses
Christian Orddonez wouldn't exactly be fair to say that applies to every Atletico fan, every clubs fan base has idiots
Jackkk 123 arsenals blud army
Jackkk 123 thanks 100 true

Ur just a fucking plastic go watch ‘soccer’
Carlos Muñoz
What the fuck are you talking about
No this is a team based in Spain, best way would be to just add subs for non-Spanish speakers
This team was known internationally for a long time
Yes Atleti has a really great fan base. Not that big like barca or real. But Atleti has got an international fanbase from Asia to South America as well

I am a strong Atletico Madrid fan and this stadium is so emotional
Ben Jr Owiriwa have you ever been to Madrid? No. stop glory hunting and support you're local team. Probably a Manchester City fan but like Manchester United as well
You don't have to have been to Madrid to be an Atleti fan.
No but what's wrong with you're local team
...Atletico is not generally a club people bandwagon.
The Glesga ned everyone has the right to support whatever he likes.....
As A Madridista...
I would like to congratulate Atletico for their new stadium and wish them luck for the future seasons :)
We need more people like you. Respect!
Sí muy bien👍👍
Never wish your rivals good luck.......
Well well.,.

the Atlético de madrid not only has the best supporters of Spain. Also has the best History of Madrid, not the money.
MONTI 6098 Real Madrid got their money from winning trophies. Atletico's new stadium is named after a Japanese company. Who really is sacrificing history for money?

Eterno Calderón siempre y para siempre en nuestros corazones !! Aúpa Atleti always!!
I stay in india but live for atleti ...........madrid is a dream.....
Oh look, they didn't have to invade the pitch...
The PC Enthusiast invasions are awesome.
Pedro Mateus unless it's Millwall fans
Exactly, fans that run on the pitch are what is wrong with football, no one likes it, even they're own players.
The PC Enthusiast and yet no one at WHL was hurt or attacked. Same goes for pretty much all end of season invasions. It's just an outpouring of emotion, not sure why that'd offend you.

Long live the Boleyn ground and the Calderon stadium.
El Calderón will always be remembered. Such a great atmosphere.
Saludos de un valencianista.

Gracias por todo, Calderón

Aúpa Atleti ♥️💪♥️
Its sad they built new stadium on another place, this place seems as really cool place
Vamos atleti
I didn't know they're moving across the city.. That's dramatic. They could've just modernised the stadium.
It was already a four star stadium. The highest rank the UEFA has.
ETERNO VICENTE CALDERÓN
Do a video on following dartford fc or some of their games
As an Arsenal fan, it’s been 14 years and still doesn’t feel like home
English fans already had to go through this in the 90s and 00s, it’s sad but most of the time it’s necessary
Fast af boiii
PremiumHd 99 yeh boii
As a madridista i respect them
forcaAtleti💙
Holy Shit that was beautiful.
Good move for Atleti. A bigher stadium will increase profits and allow them to keep talent and be more ambitious.
#Rip Calderon, #Rip White Hart Lane 😭
Matt Johnson Doesn't matter it's a rival club, demolishing a stadium which was built in 1899 is still sad.
Aryan Rana gu bxo

ETERNO CALDERÓN there's not going to be any stadium like that
Wanda metropolitan ✈ I love that name
Raheem McLean icardi and maxi Lopez love that
