- One of the BEST Quest 3 mixed reality games I've seen so far is this mixed reality Mario 64 experience that lets you build your very own Mario levels in your own home; it's like Mario 64 Maker meets mixed reality on the Quest 3 and it's so awesome! The game is pretty bare bones right now and doesn't include any sound FX or buildable elements outside of the basic platforms, ice platforms, moving platforms and slides but it still gives players all the tools to build some impressive MR Mario levels within their own environments. You can even wall jump off of items in your physical environment... HOWEVER, if you take too much fall damage Mario can die and if this happens you'll need to close the game and start fresh, wiping all the platforms you've built... so in a way this is the Dark Souls of Mario games (I couldn't resist).

Like modders in VR, people playing like this in MR, doing the fun stuff, is what will be the early showcase IMO. A simple idea but endless hours of fun (had me laughing just watching and laughing along with BB). A studio couldn't do this due to the IP but the use of such a recognisable figure makes it.
Imagine if nintendo cared about VR

I would love to see pokemon in MR and catch them all.
If this doesn't make Nintendo enter the VR market, I don't know what will. I always thought they must have been analysing Astro Bot Rescue Mission and thinking "we need to do this".

A good idea would be when placing the platform, have an option to make it invisible. So it looks like you're jumping on your cup or a box
I agree! Have a toggle for their visibility so they act like invisible walls & platforms in play mode but are visible in edit mode to alter their placement

This is insanely amazing! Is it available for everyone? How is it done? PCVR or stand-alone? I need to try it! I have a miniature mario figurine and also a miniature Bowser castle. I coukd build a course in the room and literally make the end point the castle 😮

I have seen this on Reddit. I thought it was a personal project. I am surprised that Nintendo didn't say to take it down. Maybe that is why some parts are incomplete.
So I posted the OG video of this running with the same tech but on the pc using blender for the room mapping. This is a more flushed out version running natively on the quest. It's awesome to see the idea expanded upon and being made available for everybody to experience because it's so much fun.
It's cute but no way i'm interested in that. It's more a chore that a game.
I was thinking some should do a super smash ar game or tabletop sreetfighter. This is a good sign it may happen.

I've tried this! It's pretty fun, got only one problem... When I'm playing in my bedroom, it works fine. But when I'm playing in the living room, he won't leave the platforms and start right by the edge...
I loaded this on my quest 3, but for some reason I’m getting bad performance, my headset started getting really warm in the front, and the fan went into overdrive.
This carried over to games I played after trying it, and the headset reset itself after a certain amount of time I think possibly due to overheating.
It’s running great on Benjo’s video, so I’m not sure why mine is having issues.
Games are running fine again after restarting the headset so I don’t think it’s my quest.

The developer didn't include the necessary mario64 rom. They can't do a damn thing about this just like they can't do anything about Nintendo switch emulators
@@gregauletta5694 It's using a licenced and copyrighted character without authorisation, most companies would be chill, not Nintendo, they submit take down requests for people playing their game on youtube for crying out loud lol.... They are even trying to ban large scale LAN events that feature Nintendo games, they are just stupid...
Once again, a million dollar idea and none of the well paid professionals could think it up...
It's things like this that will get me to buy the Quest 3.

I am watching an Anime called A Playthrough of a Certain Dude's VRMMO Life. It is like going into deep interactive VR game. Where you can go solo or team up in a group and go on quests, explore dungeons, and just explore the land with fighting with magic, swords, and bows. After watching a recap, I'm really into watching those videos, I feel that would be an awesome game to play if done right. Do you know of any Quest 2 game that is like that?

I can't get it to work. The game launches and let's me build platforms, but when I rename my USA Mario 64 and copy it to the correct director it causes the game to crash upon opening. Anyone know how to fix this?

I imagine because it's a recording? & what he sees in the headset would also not be as clear as this recording since it is being seen closer up & scaled up to 4k inside the hesdeset?
Get the game while you can because if Nintendo see it they will have a copyright order issued and have it removed no doubt 😢

I wonder how they're getting around trademark issues...? Seems to me that Nintendo is pretty protective of its assets. And Mario is its biggest asset.
