If there is 1 reason to buy a Quest 3 it's the pass thru, it's all grainy black and white with my Quest 2. Mixed reality is something I really didn't expect to care about, now it think it's the future
Oh that grain is far from gone. It's highly prevalent still. I have one on OS v64. Even with any update improvements, it's bad. Passthrough is the weakest aspect of the Quest 3.
@@kyledupont7711 people are mislead on RUclips due to the disparity between the recorded feed vs. what the user actually sees through the headset. Expectations are inflated as a result.
@@realizedvisionsI'm sure you have heard this before but, make sure your room is brightly lit, and make sure your are not in power saving mode in the settings, for me it looks good, it's in color and I can read text on my pc and phone. Does it look as good or better than no headset? No but I can type on my keyboard and my finger touches the key I'm looking at which is beyond my expectations from knowing how hard pass thru is to do well
@@unstable_gamers i had a quick question for you. When playing super mario bros 3 were you using an xbox controller or something because i cant seem to use the quest controllers all that well with it
@@b.rabbit725 it’s not that comfortable using the touch controllers. You can hook up an Xbox controller or regular controller and it should play just fine.
Ah yes. I remember that on Steam. It's only for NES games and there are some that don't work on it such as a homebrew game called What Remains. It's a shame it doesn't work with other consoles such as Game Boy/Color/Advance, Master System/Game Gear, Genesis/Mega Drive, and SNES as the idea has potential.

Definitely be careful where you get roms from but sites like Reddit can be a great help. This isn’t risky at all. It’s just a simple program running through steam VR.
Most rom sites are not even sketch I have gotten over atleast 9000 from different systems off roms I jailbreak consoles like Wii Wii U ps3 switch an the roms I got all work from the site just gotta know where you get them from

How are you getting this to work in AR? I can get the games to load with the black background but not in AR. Using Quest 3 via Steam VR.
Go into your virtual desktop setting. Under Streaming, at the bottom, click “Enable Passthrough.”. See if that works.
