My Jewish surrogate grandfather (technically just a family friend), who survived the Holocaust as a child, would smack these kids up. He saw his mother violated, beaten, starved, and ultimately executed by German guards and "doctors," and even though he had very thick skin, he would have been extremely offended by the way these children are degrading and dismissing the suffering, agony, and death his family and people suffered. He was no "sjw" or "snowflake," and insults, swear words, and other "offensive" things didn't hurt his feelings, but mocking his family and friends by "educating" people about the Holocaust like this would have him fuming. I hope the kids realize the absurdity and stupidity of these posts and publicly apolagize, for their own sake.

Probably used it to increase the soldiers’ tolerance to pain and hunger/cold, while giving them a chemically induced morale (and recklessness?) boost. If I remember correctly, it wasn’t just the Wehrmacht who did it. Some other countries used drugs like meth in smaller doses as pain suppressants for more grievous injuries. I remember some parts of a story about some soldier who was left to die near mortally wounded, ending up walking many many kilometers back to an allied base under the influence of meth, while nearly starving and freezing to death. Can’t remember the story that well- it’s been years since I last read about it.

I personally met a person who survived the Holocaust. She was my dad’s patient. I was young so I didn’t know what it was during that time until she informed me. She wanted me to know her story since she knew she won’t be alive any longer. It was really sad that she had to go through that. I think she’s still alive somewhere.The last time I heard from her was last year and I think she’s doing well as of right now.
75% of my family was killed in WW2 in camps and on the battlefield serving the Dutch resistance. I am Polish. It is obligatory that at some point of your school education, you're supposed to go on a school 'trip' to the death camps for educational purposes. And so I did. It was a horrifying experience, as it should be, because the Holocaust itself was a tragedy, a mass grave. And seeing some girls do a pov of 'you are talking to a holocaust victim in heaven' is not only disgusting by the idea itself - what pissess me off more is that they thought it was okay to post it on tik tok, where right after seeing that incredibly educational and informative piece, the next video will be some 15 year girl throwing ass and dancing to an anime soundtrack. I’m gonna politely disagree with this one. There has been many horrible/cringe trends but there is also really good/happy vibe type videos too. There have been many videos showing what happens to people during the BLM protest and I’m sure like me, there have been others that have learned quite a bit from the app. There’s this thing called alt tiktok, that’s where you find the really good bits. TikTok is known for the cringy straight-TikTok side which is honestly disheartening because it overshadows the good side. There are wholesome community’s on there, and if you’re not a heartless/racist/misogynistic/pedophile, you’re more likely to find yourself on the right side.

They claim to have met Holocaust survivors or have visited Holocaust memorials... yet they think it's a good idea to make these? I should also add that this isn't the first time the official Auschwitz Memorial had to tell people to not use the camp as a backdrop for their cute little social media trends.
My great grandmother barely escaped the Jasenovac death camp, having her entire family taken and slaughtered. Worst part was, she only escaped because she ran away when she was angry; she didn’t say goodbye to them, then came back to everyone but her father gone. This kind of stuff is the absolute most disgusting thing that I’ve ever seen popularized. This is genuinely horrible, and I hope these people ruin their abilities to get any sort of occupations because of this.

I think there is a right and wrong way to "teach" history. Like I watched The Diary of Anne Frank play at my college, and it made me cry. It was very hard for me to watch at times. Especially because I had a great aunt of mine die in the Halocaust. People don't realize how terrible it was when they make this sorta shit. My great aunt wasn't even Jewish. She had a child without being married, and that was enough to gas her. Like it hasn't even been 100 years. My grandparents lived through the depression and WW2. My grandmother was living in Germany at the time when they were being bombed and all that. And I feel like the detachment when it comes to 9/11 is that most of these kids weren't alive. Hell it happened 6 months before I was born. Although I grew up in the post 9/11 and even visited NY in mid 2006, and they were still feeling it 5 years after. They were building the memorial. Just like how people make bombing jokes when they live in the US because they haven't truly experienced it. And I understand if you wanna be edgy, most teenagers are. But there is even a line between some kinda edgy joke and straight mockery which I think many in the 12-14 year old range have trouble making.

Probably used it to increase the soldiers’ tolerance to pain and hunger/cold, while giving them a chemically induced morale (and recklessness?) boost. If I remember correctly, it wasn’t just the Wehrmacht who did it. Some other countries used drugs like meth in smaller doses as pain suppressants for more grievous injuries.
I remember some parts of a story about some soldier who was left to die near mortally wounded, ending up walking many many kilometers back to an allied base under the influence of meth, while nearly starving and freezing to death. Can’t remember the story that well- it’s been years since I last read about it.

She wanted me to know her story since she knew she won’t be alive any longer. It was really sad that she had to go through that. I think she’s still alive somewhere.The last time I heard from her was last year and I think she’s doing well as of right now.
75% of my family was killed in WW2 in camps and on the battlefield serving the Dutch resistance. These kids have little to no respect for the people who died and/or lost everyone and everything they knew because most if not all of their relatives lived in the United States at the time, they do not have the right to use other people's suffering for clout or fame

I am Polish. It is obligatory that at some point of your school education, you're supposed to go on a school 'trip' to the death camps for educational purposes. And so I did. It was a horrifying experience, as it should be, because the Holocaust itself was a tragedy, a mass grave.
And seeing some girls do a pov of 'you are talking to a holocaust victim in heaven' is not only disgusting by the idea itself - what pissess me off more is that they thought it was okay to post it on tik tok, where right after seeing that incredibly educational and informative piece, the next video will be some 15 year girl throwing ass and dancing to an anime soundtrack.
It's so insensitive, stupid and beyond any understanding of mine. Some girls attention whore so hard that they will literally make a national and worldwide tragedy about themselves and their faces with makeup on. They already do. Where do they draw the fucking line, if not there?

I’m gonna politely disagree with this one. There has been many horrible/cringe trends but there is also really good/happy vibe type videos too. There have been many videos showing what happens to people during the BLM protest and I’m sure like me, there have been others that have learned quite a bit from the app. There’s this thing called alt tiktok, that’s where you find the really good bits. TikTok is known for the cringy straight-TikTok side which is honestly disheartening because it overshadows the good side. My great grandmother barely escaped the Jasenovac death camp, having her entire family taken and slaughtered. Worst part was, she only escaped because she ran away when she was angry; she didn’t say goodbye to them, then came back to everyone but her father gone. This kind of stuff is the absolute most disgusting thing that I’ve ever seen popularized. This is genuinely horrible, and I hope these people ruin their abilities to get any sort of occupations because of this.

Assuming you could do it without copyright issues.

I think there is a right and wrong way to "teach" history. Like I watched The Diary of Anne Frank play at my college, and it made me cry. It was very hard for me to watch at times. Especially because I had a great aunt of mine die in the Halocaust. People don't realize how terrible it was when they make this sorta shit. My great aunt wasn't even Jewish. She had a child without being married, and that was enough to gas her. Like it hasn't even been 100 years. My grandparents lived through the depression and WW2. My grandmother was living in Germany at the time when they were being bombed and all that. And I feel like the detachment when it comes to 9/11 is that most of these kids weren't alive. Hell it happened 6 months before I was born. Although I grew up in the post 9/11 and even visited NY in mid 2006, and they were still feeling it 5 years after. They were building the memorial. Just like how people make bombing jokes when they live in the US because they haven't truly experienced it. And I understand if you wanna be edgy, most teenagers are. But there is even a line between some kinda edgy joke and straight mockery which I think many in the 12-14 year old range have trouble making.
There's definetly a fine line between a "dark humor joke" (god I hate that phrase) and straight up mockery but I feel like a lot of people are just very sensitive so in reality you can't really make a dark humor joke without some fake depressed 14 year old white girl saying you're a disgusting human being and now she thinks she's a messiah because she posted a black square on Instagram anyways back on topic I personally feel like a joke about the nazis or possibly Jews really isn't that serious but when it actually turns into just plain mockery is when stupid people like this think it's a good idea to seriously pretend to be a holocaust victim being gassed
Being a millennial born at the beginning of the latter half of the 90s I was not completely aware of the 9/11 terrorist attack. I don’t live in the United States, and in 2001 was too busy being a child and playing outside and with my toys to care about the world outside my own. But I’m afraid now of what Tik Tokers will do with this, considering this trend about a multi year genocide. Kids these days are unbelievable

I really love edgy and dark humor. Like, the stuff that most people would be deeply disturbed by or depressed after consuming.
This, on the other hand, is just women getting their rocks off through clout they gain on TikTok by using victims of the greatest human tragedy of the 20th century. There's nothing "edgy" or "humorous" about it; they're just being disgusting. People telling edgy jokes or using dark humor *know* it's edgy and dark; what's gross about what they're doing is that they aren't just unaware that it's disgusting, but they're also profiting off of it.
There's a difference between masking your opinions with a layer of "I'm just being edgy man, dark humor bro." and coming up with a creative joke that uses context and tact cleverly.
Dark humor is almost always very lazy. When you get older it's just *lazy* and boring, tell me a depressing joke about the IRS, don't just yell a slur. Edgy humor = tell a joke about how outpatient suboxone/methadone clinics and H dealers/pill farm docs are a cycle that govt use to abuse and milk the mentally ill and people under the poverty line. Edgy humor =/= haha minority.
