Awesome video i love it never stop make more video please
Thanks for the video, I have been looking at these. I repair steam coils in tanks sometimes and am absolutely sick of trying to maneuver my hood in there. Thanks again.
It seems to me that it would suit you perfectly. Very welcome 🙏
Jim
Thanks for the review. It looks ideal for those tight setups where there's no room. Would appreciate knowing more about your stainless steel welding projects. One of the things I always wanted to get into was welding stainless counter tops, like, for industrial kitchens and stuff. It looks pretty challenging with the thin materials and controlling warpage, back purge and, you know, would be curious to see how you handle such things as excellent as you are with minding the fine details.
Hello my friend! Yes it is a very neat way to weld comfortably. To answer you curiosity about the cabinets, I have almost completed the first one and we will be showing the process while I finish the second one. Hopefully it makes a very interesting couple of videos. Of course you know I'm cheating a little bit, having done one, I can look smarter on the second one. Not to worry though I will be explaining all my mistakes on the first one so everyone can learn from my errors.
Until we talk again,
Jim
Oh I like this. I get in some horrible spots. This would help. Awesome
Hello Tim, yes you will find it very favorable to work in spots where the larger shields are just too combersome. They tend to fog-up a bit but they make an anti fog spray that helps.
Jim
I do all sorts of welding inside and out of navy submarines and carriers. Sometimes the spots I have to get into to weld are nightmares and I think this might just be perfect for me.
Great review. Do you have a link for the lightweight hoodie? Need to get some of those.
I picked these up under actual makers brand of Servore. The front of mask has replaceable shields and inside they have anti fog shields. But for the guy needing more reach, angle and compactness( I have to do exhaust welding on cars and that can be a jungle gym)THESE THINGS ROCK! Fun part is sourcing the accessories. Hoping someone could make a rechargeable version as I use mine then may not get exhaust work and I have to swap batteries but book keeper has figured out what we get batteries for and doesn't charge me now. But I do need to find those balaclava for firefighters, thanks for the idea.Lee
Glad the video helped. Had you already purchased the mask before seeing the video or after?
Best to you,
Jim
Awesome for small vessels I think.
How about respirator ?
Quick thought I had about the lens protection. Obviously the idea is to never put any welding hood lense down but for that little mask, a quick fix for some scratch protection could be to put a few dabs of hot glue around the outside of the lense area to create little bumpers in case the mask should fall glass down. Smart phone cases do this to protect the screen, they sit proud of the screen to help keep the glass off the ground in case of a drop.
Like hot gun for making patterns but not going to use it as a fool proof way to save the lenses on a expensive mask but each to his own.
Jim
Good vid earned a new sub
You know how to make my day, thank you 🙏
How much are they to buy and what is the name for this shield pls??
That helmet is very cool I could use it at my shop nice to go into tight places to do some welding
Hello Joe, that was exactly what the helmet was designed to be used for, tight spaces. Hope you get to try one soon.
Thank you,
Jim
@@YachtShopCreations how does it hold up to fogging up when you've worked up a heavy sweat?
Thanks bro!
Your very welcome 🙏
Jim
I saw those advertised at a site and I thought about maybe trying them when I use my powertig.
Hello Robert, yes you’ll enjoy them. They don’t replace the convenience of a large helmet, as they’re really task oriented, but like when you need any good tool you need a good tool:-)
Jim
How are those millers holding up ?
Where did you get the hood
Isso é louco demais. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Very cool man.
Thank you 🙏 Just wondering if you liked the mask as well?
Jim
How's the optical clarity? I have a cheaper 1/1/1/1 (nesco filter) that's been annoying me. It feels like it barely meets those requirements. I weld water tight tanks and have to get close on some welds, so this sounds up my ally
Hello Casey! Optical clarity is perfect, better than any helmet due to the fact the lenses are so close to your eyes. Not as cool as a helmet but if the weather is cooler where you are than south Florida or if you are in A/C as we are during the summer months, not an issue.
Jim
DeBergerac Design that would be an issue then. 90 degrees in Washington state is worse than 120 degrees in Texas, and I'm welding inside tanks with Dual shield at 300 amps all day. It gets HOT.
Do the googles seal against your face good enough to block out any glare from the sun when welding outside?
Absolutely. No light comes in from anywhere but the front lenses.
Jim
I'm just a hobbies and tig welding at home and I want the Miller welding goggles you review do you think is a good idea to use them all the time to welding at home on personal projects like exhaust and body work welding ?
Hello Efrain, thank you for watching, Yes I think the mask would be fine for you. If you are welding eight to ten hours a day at a bench, not so much.
A helmet is easier to get on and off as well as being faster and cooler. The mask is fine for short intervals but really shines when there is no room to get a large helmet in.
It is another tool for your arsenal with its own purpose.
Best of luck to you,
Jim
DeBergerac Design thank you I will order me one and I’ll get back you.
Cool mask
Cool comment
Im starting on my AS in welding on monday - I got a beard - this is great but i want a passive mask. can i get that?
Hello Brizzell, thanks for watching! You can definitely get a passive mask, it just won't look like this one;-)
Jim
Where did u get the cheater lens from? I need that shape ...the ones i have are square
Hello, at the Miller outlet.
Jim
Would you recommend these over a full helmet? For daily use? Or just to have when you know your gonna be in tight spots?
Richard B if you weld everyday your skin gets burnt I’m going to give it a try I’m tired of burning my skin
@@BugsTools your skinned gets burned wearing a regular helmet?....how so?
Mr nice guy I weld a lot bro the Uv light goes around the hood then I get a welders tan. You’ll turn red at first haha then start getting dark😬
@@BugsTools been welding for 32 years now....currently running a lincoln 3350 viking, cloth backer velcroed inside my hood for backlight, and 3 inch leather piece under the front....I'm in the dark :0.
Zero burns.....145 amp aluminum,120 amp stainless tig,its bright....
Mr nice guy I’m going to do that to my welding hood too I’m welding underneath trucks all day with galvanized and other junk mixed in there
Can you wear these if you wear glasses?
i purchased 1 of these goggles and i have tried every setting in the book plus new batteries and it wants to flicker on and off while i am tiging is there something i am missing or did i just get a needle in a hay stack lol
So sorry for your luck, I would contact miller and they will happily send you a new one. The items they sell are solid and they stand behind their products.
Jim
CHADI HAJMOUSSA ever get this sorted??
Can the lends be replace like a welding hood ?
Yes they can.
Jim
Hello Dustin, if you’re questioning the exterior lens replacement, yes it can be.
Jim
How do you turn the mask off , it just says on ? Does it go off by itself ?
Shuts off by itself every 30 minutes.
Any fogging issues?
Hello Charles, no fogging issues due to the eye piece having a complete seal.
Thank you, Jim
Where did you get the cheater for it?
Miller sells the cheater of course.
Be well,
Jim
Do these fog up?
Yes they will, as with every helmet 😐
Thank you for watching!
Jim
Slick setup! Also like that it covers the ears. Too many deaf welded out there.
Yes it is slick! It's much more important to protect your ears when mig and arc welding. The only thing that makes any noise when you're tig welding is the fans on the welder and the cooling tower. I just turn up octane on sirrus! With a 28 inch bass box not sure that helps;-)

Goddamnit if it had the clearlight lens I'd buy two
What is the clear light lens?
Jim
@@YachtShopCreations it's what miller runs on their elite and 49ti series, the puddle is incredibly clea
Thank you for the insight, I will check them out.
Jim
@@YachtShopCreations it's millers competition to lincoln's 4c lense on the 3350 viking, and optrels crystal lense.
Too bad I can’t use this in school or most shops and job sites. Can’t wear a safety glasses. Most will require safety glasses. Same reason i can’t wear a pancake hood 😟
Weird rules,
Jim
I'm 99% sure that Servore makes these for Miller...
Great 👍 I will check them out.
Jim
More chest hair please.
I will let the wardrobe department know😀
Jim
