I have the older version of this. I thought it was a great idea to use it if I needed to get into tight spaces where a regular helmet would not be possible. I use cheater lenses along with reading glasses (welding is bad for your eyes kids…trust me) in my regular helmets.
I tried to order the magnifying lenses for this doohickey mask…3 times. Every time, Miller sent me some oval eyeglass magnifiers that do not work with this mask. They don’t fit in the mask properly. I had to use masking tape to get them to stay in position inside the mask, and even then, it was awkward and hokey. I’ve given them the part numbers, serial numbers…my local welding supply store tried to help me to get the correct magnifier lenses for this mask, and failed every time.
I am convinced they do not make a proper shape cheater lens to fit this mask. This mask is quite expensive…over $300. Don’t waste your money if you need cheater lenses in your helmets.
