Cheers! I think I'll make more like it. It was inspired by 8-Bit Music Theory & Ashton Gleckman, those channels are gold for breakdowns such as this one.
Just a heads up about the scale in the song: In the video I mentioned that the song is in the key of D Melodic Minor, and said it sounds like the first half of the scale is in major and the second half in minor. That's not true. What I wanted to say is that the scale sounds like it's A major for the first half, while A minor for the second half, but what it actually is is just a D melodic minor. I'm obviously not sure how these things work though, but that's just one fun thing I noticed.
Alex Moukala melodic minor scales are weird because when you go up the scale, the sixth and seventh notes are the same as the major key, but when you go down, they’re flatted.
this was awesome!. The reason you (and everyone else) loves that sting pattern at D is because of the augemted 5th. They are playing triads but going up a half step after the 5th of the chord. Brian uses this in many of his pieces and is a huge Marvel stapel. I believe Brahms used it in one of his symphinies as well. As for the bass lines, usines inversions is helpful, but also putting movement in the bass when the melody is not changing. Or adding some rhythms which is what Williams does alot.
just sick recreation!, one of my alltime favorite tracks of 2000> blockbuster soundtrack Themes. Combination of strings and those huge brass sound just great. Cant appreciate the live concert from tyler self conducted here on ytube enough.
Love this tutorial, and the production quality is awesome. Very inspiring. Really good to know how Brian Tyler uses ostinato patterns to play chords too 👌🏼
Alex moukala is my teacher, I'm so happy and proud to have found and learnt so much things from this channel.. such a humble man. Will always share this for aspiring composers.
Awesome arrangement and video Alex, I'm a big fan of Brian Tyler, I'm so happy that you made a tutorial about one of his track, but when you say that trumpet are annoying when they play alone, I disagree. Just listen at the beginning of Symphic Prelude on Adeste Fidelis, they sound very nice. (Btw I'm not a trumpet player, but for having heard the song I mentionned in live, I just had to mentionned it :)
You are very talented. I have listen some of your music and the only term which can describe it is "wow". PS. I'm composing cinematic music too :-) on FL Studio as well
Hey Alex can you upload a video Music from Scratch and explain some songs of TSFH like El Dorado, Final Frontier, Dragonland (Composed by Thomas Bergersen)
I'll probably make a Thomas Bergersen analysis in the future. But it's tricky to record myself from scratch while writing mockups since I often listen to the original while I compose.
When I try to make spicatto ostinatos on chords it sounds super bad most of the times because they don't share a similar tone. Then it becomes just a cheesy - and way too fast moving - ostinato. Any ideas?
Hi do you have any tips for figuring out notes by ear ? When I hear a chord I find it hard to pick up the individual notes like you did in the remake of this song
Hi Alex! I wanted to say thank you for your tutorials, especially this one, which really helped me knock down the barriers I had to doing what I always wanted to do, which is write an orchestral composition. I finished my first one last night! I would love if you would listen to it and I welcome any feedback: soundcloud.com/user-346436949/command-of-the-fleet
I can't read the scores, so yes, I just go by ear listening to the full mix. The more you do it, the better you become. Quite frankly, I don't think it's better or worse than reading the scores. I just like refining my ears this way personally.

You rock!
Fun fact: Thomas Bergersen used an 18 French Horn live ensemble for his track Final Frontier
Great fact!
Love what you do Thank you
There was an interesting article about chromatic mediants in the computer magazine (10/18) You might be intereted in it :)
Could you break down Brian Tyler's Ironman 3 Theme - it's amazing.
Alex!!!
But I can't able to get the stems😓😓 Do you help me?
Good stuff, bro. But you've gotta get on music theory. it helps so much. (I did go to school for music though so I guess I have some bias)
"I bet i could make a song better than that" *sees over 100 lines of tracks and complex music theory* "huh...i'll stick to edm.."
YEAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Alex, how long did this mock-up take to make? Thanks!
I think if you had 9 french horns, what probably will happen is that half the French horn players play octave 4 and the other half octave 5
@Alex Moukala Tutorials ,
I signed up to get the stems but Google directed me to a 404 page because of invalid links.
Please help, thanks,
Yuhuuuuuu!

Hello, Master. What headphones de you use to compose and mix your music?
Hi Alex, do you use the scores to figure out all the notes that each instruments is playing. Seems to me it would be really hard with the full mix.
I can't read the scores, so yes, I just go by ear listening to the full mix.

Is there a time code where the mockup is played in full without voice over?
