I am big fan of you doc😁. Just wondering what are your thought about a high protein, low fat and carb duet combined to IF of course? Thanks in advance
Thank you for all you do Dr. Ekberg! Health is Wealth!
So you are saying every tho I did a 20 hour I need to go longer 24 30 48 I lost but hit a Plato. For how long.
Also keto and intermittent do I go. Each time I hit a Plato. What then?
@@laelmom I do 36 to 48 hour fast about 4 to 8 times a year. They are great for autophagy and they do work to break a plateau.
Healthy Keto and Intermittent Fasting for life.
I have lost 100lbs / 45kg in 12 months by watching, listening and understanding Dr Ekberg’s advice on eating clean and exercising.
Thank you, you have changed and saved my life.
UPDATE: October 2022. I have now lost 110lbs / 50kg in 16 months and my weight has stayed the same for the last few months, i have a healthy BMI, healthy body fat and visceral fat measurements and exercising daily, along with healthy eating. I am not trying to lose any more weight and my body has found this balance of energy that is not losing or gaining any weight, I am happier and younger than ever. Thank you Dr Ekberg!

Well done, you saved your own life by listening to wise advice 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Wow! Congrats! I'm now always getting inspired by such a gem of a doctor! 👏
Thank Jesus too for creating such a wise man .
Thank You your message Very interesting this Save my Life Too.
I lost 80lbs in the past 12 months because of the information in these videos.
Wow! I'll bet you feel so much better. 😊
Congratulations!
Wow ...amazing
dude you're a rock
I SALUTE YOU👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Since I cut out sugar and carbs, I no longer crave foods ,and actually, I'm often not hungry. I eat one meal a day ...lost over 50lbs since March
Truly Amazing. What time of day do you eat?
Me too. Keep going!
I typically eat about 6 to 7 in the evening..mostly...I also do longer fasts ,I find them quite refreshing . Now ,I will do bulletproof coffee..my version...or various teas. When I first start longer fasts I had some hunger issues, but they are just " feelings" ,rather easy to ignore. Life is not ending just because one feels hungry, but I rarely get hungry now. My longer fasts are up to 48 hours. I want to go longer to get my vision back.
@@johnpickett8533 Thanks for responding. You're disciplined. Fasting to improve vision is my next subject to research. Thanks again.
One meal a day? I eat two meals a day.
I am now 65yrs old and have been wearing a 32" waist for the last 3 year's...have not been in a 32" waist since 1974 in basic training! Listen to this man!!! Thanks Doc!!!
Awesome, congratulations 👍
Well done Sir, I went from 36 to 29 in a couple of years, I'm now 42. I eat complex carbs tho.
Good job
the doc,s waist size is more than 34 ,,, he is kind of skinny fat.
Dr. Ekberg.
I find it amazing how perfect your English is. I mean, a guy from Sweden with little to no accent is truly amazing. Nothing wrong with Accents because my mother is from Greece. I just really admire your dedication to helping people, the way you encourage people, and the research you provide us with!
Thank you Dr. Ekberg.
I started cutting down carbs 9 days ago. I honestly don't feel a lot of hunger except when I need to eat. I feel better and feel lighter in my gut.

Went from 197lbs to 159 thanks to doctor Ekberg!
(5’ 10”)
Amazing!
Outstanding! Keep up the good work
That's my goal, same height 😊
How?
What did you do? 😩
I started losing weight in June due to very high blood pressure. Initially I just went with calorie deficiency but I soon hit a weight that I could not get below no matter how hard I tried. That's when I switch to 16:8 IF and even though I continued to loose weigh it wasn't nearly as dramatic. I then added a healthy (ideal) HFLC Keto on top of the 16:8 IF and now my weight is in free fall. I feel great and my blood pressure is almost normal with no meds.
Hi, what menu food you have for loss weight in HFLC diet ? Confusing to start the diet😊
@@meilysumantri9819 I wonder why you got no reply.
That's Really Great News and Taking no Med's Definitely that's Right Way Go, IAm NOT On med's either and I had terrible blood pressure in Past, Now My Pressure back to Normal doing Great on Blood Pressure.
Wow that sounds great.
@meilysumantri9819 look at labels on everything..stay below 20 carbs a day .eat whole foods like leafy greens in a salad..fresh meats like steaks ..chicken n fish eggs. Real butter coconut oil .Avocado oil and olive oil ..stay away from breads .pasta cakes cookies crackers and junk .eat keto treats occasionally .. I know this message is old .but figured I would reply anyways 😊
The fact that y'all can eat food period is a blessing, some of us cannot, and it's a painful, unfulfilling condition.
True... But you do have RUclips so there's that.
Once again, Dr. Ekberg hits it out of the park with his "powerpoint" presentations. They are so simple and clear. Whoever designs these should get a raise! A few of my friends keep calling what I'm doing a diet and it is not sustainable. I tell them it's not a diet, its a lifestyle. I am now at my ideal weight. 5' 10" 150 lbs. I'm 65 years old. Dr. Ekberg and a few others on RUclips have changed my life. I feel better than ever. Thank you.
Thank You Sal Lazuka. I'm so glad you found it valuable and I appreciate the feedback. I make the power points myself, so I'll make a note to give myself a raise. LOL 😄

@@drekberg I’m sorry for being stupid but what diet do you recommend?
And what is your definition of jo-jo dieting?
I have been doing this diet for only a week and the pounds are falling off! I have no cravings and always craved sweets on the diet my doctor recommended!
@@superkatarsis Did you even see the video? When yes, you know which diet he recommends - Keto with some intermatting fasting.
I would suggest that teachers unions and school boards across the country adopt Dr. Ekberg's videos for mandatory learning in all schools. For health classes and home economics classes also. Knowledge is power, power is winning. We can defeat obesity and diabetes.
I don’t think they want to do that. The new thing they tell you is to eat when ur hungry. Well I’m hungry all the time and if I do that I will be seriously obese. They make money off of people having disorders and illnesses.
Maybe they just need to start with healthy food choices for schools!
Can't sell pills to healthy people, never happening.
I would suggest you start at the State Department of Education in each state as well as the US Department of Education….those are where curriculum actually has to be approved before it even gets to a school board or a teacher union which doesn’t normally determine curriculum.
@@thiaco6203 good point, every change has to be approved, will those school boards be able to withstand the opposition from big food corporations
I can tell this man feeds his brain well, listening to him makes mine healthier. Thanks Dr E
Yesi realy loves him
Thank you Dale Val. I'm happy to hear that. Remember that you have to feed your brain chemically, structurally and emotionally. Eat Better, Move Better, Think & Feel Better.😄
@@drekberg i agree Dr E, you may consider a teaching video on brain preservation, I'm at the same age of 62, my dear Mother Grace started her battle with AD, she went from a vibrant chief nurse to a 80 lb, crippled and bed ridden, brutal when we feed our body but our brain is starved and destroyed with plaque .
People love to hear lies and fantasies. For example, eating lots of fat and meat is good for you, and eating whole grains, fruits and vegetables is bad for you
@@JesusChrist5000WELL WELL listen to you Vegan hero Timmy, let me ask you, do think one style of eating works for all men?, if you where like me and had chronic dietetics for 37 years, you may sing a different tune, eating any carbs forced me to use insulin injections every meal, which make our body store fat from every calorie , a strict diet my family Doc taught me,??, I was eating 1500 cal, and getting fatter and sicker, so I choose a healthy fats, low carb veg, low carb fruits, grass fed meat, and fasting all Dr E and Jason Fung teach here and all videos? , i lost 78 lbs, I was booked to have my left foot amputated, by following a healthy fasting and keto lifestyle , Let me as you Tim, calling his advice deadly, do you know death like me?, have you ever gone 30 days without food?, have you ever been faced with gangrene and an early grave, only to learn advice like what you preach was the root cause of my fate , Bread, sugar, high carb fruit, high carb veg destroyed my life, if you knew anything about Dr E, you would know he promotes only the things that heal, grains and farming can sustain some, but are an early grave for those like me, with metabolic disorder, so you'll do well to do a little more research before you chime in to insult so many that have survived from a good mans sound advice, I take you're attack on him rather personally,, you should know what he really teaches and grow up a bit more before you post comments that only work for 60 % of the population .
I’m italian and have followed a mediterran diet since little.
It involves a huge good variety but also lots of carbs pasta pizza etc
I must admit I always been overweight then started doing sport and balanced most of it but always had that yo yo effect and because I enjoy food luckily I also filled in amazing fish meat and all the vegetables and fruits.
I have removed Carbs totally from my diet since 2 weeks and intend to go forward with it and managing to not eat after 5 pm.
I am doing amazingly including at least 4 hours if I can 6 of cardio at week with only one or two meals per day.
My personal shock and realization of how bad are carbs was eating two pizzas and still feeling hungry and craving for more.
Thank you doctor!!!
Amazing channel and great clear dedicated explanations.
There's lots of information saying you only need to do 20 minutes 2 or 3 times a week. End your exercise with 15 or so seconds of HIIT.
I did a strict keto and healthy eating period for about a year, two years ago. I lost 35 lbs and kept it off simply by being more aware of what I was consuming while not limiting carbs. I'm doing another period of keto again and within two weeks I'm already down 10 lbs with an expectation that I'll be down another 25 by the end of the year. Keto has really been a lifesaver for me, reversing a trend that saw me as a relatively skinny guy to obese and feeling terrible all the time.
Honestly, you are saving lives. I'm down 40 LBS now , changed my life
Clean keto or low carb high fat with intermittent fasting. The degree of low carb and degree of intermittent fasting according to the needs of the individual. Finally, the truth is out. Thank you, Dr. Ekberg, I understand!
Thank you Jennifer. You got it.😄
and of course, no margarine, no trans, low omega 6, low to no artificial ingredients (sometime you just can't avoid them, they put those nasties in everything).
It sucks when u can't even have a (1/2cup-cup) carb serving 2x a month. IIt's OK at home, but when you're at a BBQ and u just want a handful of chips, or it's your friend's birthday and everyone's eating cake. (I never did like the icing.) Stay on keto 2-3 weeks, then one serving , I gain 4 lbs. They say that's water weight. Why does it take a months to go away? Been doing all the right things for a bout 2 years. Lost 10 lbs, but this last 10 wants to hang on. I'm 68. Just can't seem to drop the last 10 lbs. I fast 18:6 most days. I always feel deprived.
@@staceykersting705 one hidden issue people have that causes issues is h pylori bacteria in the stomach. You should see gastroenterologist and be screened for it. It really can mess with your body and mind.
@@phayes9346 Do probiotics help? I eat nat'l yogurt and d rink kombucha most days. Also kimchee. My digestion's amazing.
I love this! I lost 60 lbs going OMAD and strict paleo-no exercise. I did it because an autoimmune flare up and the weight loss was just a bonus. I truly didn’t realize I’d lose weight. I was largely uneducated, but had heard of another person having success with their disease on that regime. It works.
@@lightbeingpontifex Have a close look at what you are eating, paleo doesn’t work for everyone, you may need to step it up a bit, on his chart. I initially did it for autoimmune reasons, clean keto, hit a plateau and had to add IF. We are all different.
@@Solitude11-11 I see results on if + exercise,,, just diet alone only lowers my metabolism and keeps me at the same weight,,,
What did you eat for your OMAD???
What is omad diet ??
Omad = one meal a day
The only doctors I trust: Dr. Eric Berg, Dr. Stan Ekberg and Dr. Jason Fung. You sirs really changed my life and I am cincerely grateful. I have been struggeling with my weight all my life since my early teens. It's a lifestile and not a diet. I have been doing IF for a couple of months so far, started doing OMAD and prolonged fasts recently. I have never felt better and I enjoy my mental clarity. Thank you Dr. Ekberg!
I agree . They are the three best doctors. I already lost 40 lbs by following their teachings that reinforce one another .
Berg has become a greedy shill.
I think the high stress from working FT + all the family responsibilities leaves us all exhausted.
It is very difficult to plan a food list, stick to the diet, meal prep, and exercise 3-5x a week always.
I did 15 years of regular exercise and then I had to take care of elderly parents...not so easy anymore.
I love the video's. Hope to get back on track.
Most all is not sustainable. Now, also add in the cost of good food. Too expensive for avg person. Everyone has an answer yet America is fattest country. Terrible costly food, plus lack of time to plan all this crap equals failure. Just cut your calories and exercise a bit
hoping you were able to
@@Mrtellitlikeitis Maybe you will save money by eating healthy food because it gives you all the nutrients that you need (not needing as much) as opposed all the money for the unhealthy food that does not provide your body all the nutrients it needs and thus spending more. Thought about this yesterday when I was so shocked in the store. When I eat healthy I feel full and satisfied and when I don’t eat healthy foods, I tend to binge. What is really more expensive? Especially when you factor in possible medical bills and loss of quality of life. Turning 60 soon and doing much self-reflection on what I want my future life to look like. Blessings to anyone who reads this. Remember how amazing and special you are!
Best wishes to you ❤️🤗

I am diabetic, type 2. I was on Lantus 50 units daily with 5-8 units regular with meals. Never below 180 on glucose checks. I've been on keto 3 weeks with intermittant fasting. I am off my insulin totally staying below 180, down 30 pounds and two pants sizes. I'm focusing on healthy lifestyle, gave up my diet pop, 40 - 80 oz a day. Feel so much better and believe me motivated to make this a totally new lifestyle, sure wish I'd found your videos years ago. Thank you so much.
CONGRATS TO YOU.....KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
Baby step s and consistency will "get you there"!!

We all know what to do, but I believe it’s the application and adherence that are often the obstacles to achieving the desired outcome. If you can comply, and make it a lifestyle like Doc is saying, then you’re truly set for life. We have the power, everyone! Now, let’s do it (and keep going)!!!
Thank you Jennifer Myers. We all need to be plugged in to something that keeps feeding us reasons and motivation. That's how you stay on track. Watch, read, listen to something uplifting every day.😄

I've started 18:6 IF & I feel great. I eat my first meal at 1or 2pm then I have a protein shake at around 7pm . I usually drink lemon ginger tea or green tea for breakfast & drink plenty of water throughout the day.
i was raised in a middle eastern family so main food on the table was always either rice, potatoes, pasta and BREAD accompanied by some sort of protein... I have started my lifestyle change at the end of January 2023 and it has been hard, very hard to eliminate or lessen the amount of carbs. I am still having carbs but nowhere near the amount I used to have. I have started IF for 2 weeks now and doing 16/8 or 8/6 plus some home workouts, I have lost 12kg in just over 2 months. I feel much better and much more energetic. Thank you so much for these amazing life changing videos. ❤
Thanks for posting these videos Sten. I'm 63 and In 6 months, I've dropped my morning blood sugar levels 150 points and my weight by 20 pounds. I have far more energy and my blood pressure has gone down significantly. I've gone off the Metformin too. All of this on Keto with 18/6 intermittent fasting along with some occasional 36 hour fasts. This program works!
Wow 36 hours fasting, amazing!!! I just did 24 hours for the past two days and its wonderful. I feel kindda bad bc i am T2S and has covid for the past 5 days. I am on vitamins and my condition hasnt been as severe as in 2020. Exercise sure helps keeping the body busy.
Thank you for sharing can i do intermittent fasting, I’m diabetes and have blood pressure.
Thank you for posting this video it has helped me understand a great deal more about the different diets that are out there. I've been so lost and not knowing which one to do which one to use which one will work for me and this explains a lot and helps me to understand what will probably work best for me. I'm curious as to how you feel about this go lo plan? I've been seeing a lot of advertisements for it and I'm curious about it as well without asking you to advertise or promote them just to help with information.
Honestly you are my favorite page to watch now. Over gaming, music, shows, everything. The way you explain everything and your attitude towards helping everyone is amazing. There's noone I would rather listen to for hours on end. I love learning about my body from you!
Same here! Love hearing about our wonderful body and how it works!😄😄😄😄
You explained Hypoglycemia well. That was my problem growing up. The doctor told me I was on the border of becoming a Type 2 diabetic. Little did I know at the time that it was from all the sweets and refined carbs I craved. Now I’m a 59 year old woman who watches all my carbs. The menopausal weight gain of 30 pounds has been a big struggle.
Yes that is very hard to deal with.
I followed the advice I found from Dr Jamnadas, Dr Fung and you to first eliminate sugar and processed foods, then started IF 18/6, now to OMAD WITH 24 hours fasting, my belly fat is decreasing rapidly and I have more energy than when I was in my 40’s, turning 72 next week so it’s never too late to make better choices.
This is one-stop shopping for anyone looking for a lifestyle promoting health, which literally ticks all the boxes. Thanks,
Dr. Ekberg 💙
I'm so proud to be a part of this wonderful community.
IF, 18-24 hours per day as well as adding eggs to my diet have helped me tremendously
So 18 hours per day is basically eating 2 meals per day instead of 3 right?
@@pdxshredder6883 exactly
This is the only thing that’s helped me lose weight, as well as low carb.
YESSSSS! IF has been a game changer for me! I started IF, a low carb/moderate fat/high protein diet and frequent exercise last July. ...I have maintained an average of weight of 127 lbs (...@5'6"; 50 years old), which is what I weighed in HS (1988).
I'll never go back. Ever!
Low carb (about 50g or less per day) and intermittent fasting (4-6 hour eating window per day) helped me lose a lot of weight. It can be rough to get used to for a few weeks though.
Thank you ❤
Super awesome video I did Atkins diet about 25 years ago and fell off got Re-Fatted in a bad way. Now about 2+ years ago I was told I was pre-diabetic and this was by the same health care provider I had all along. BUT this diagnosis flipped a switch for me and I went back to low carb (way of life now). This video got me to understand IR finally. At 74 y/o people often tell me I look great 😊 but sometimes I think the Women are flirting, Priceless!
Dr. Exberg. I was on keto, and loss weight, perfect blood sugar and blood pressure. But now, I will add intermittent fasting. Thank you for your dedication in educating us. In a perfect understanding way. 🥰
70 LBS down after 1 year of listening you. Thank you doc. you really like people. Also thank you for speaking so calmy and slowly
Great timing. Thanks Doc. I started Keto early last year and lost about 17 kilos by end of 2020 (went from 110.5kg to a very stubborn plateau at 93-94kg at the lowest point) with only moderate exercise. Then just before Xmas started back on the old way of eating (I used Xmas as an excuse to eat what I wanted) and since then gained back 10 of those kilos in pretty quick time. I feel quite ashamed of myself that I let it slip so badly, but at least I finally realised that this has to be a non-negotiable lifestyle each and every day. For me there can be no "Oh to heck with it, I'll eat pizza tonight", or "I'll grab a quick bowl of pasta" because I always found it quite difficult to get back on track after cheat days, and especially cheat weekends.
The really great thing about Keto, was that while I was on it I had zero desire for junk like chips, sweets, ice creams, etc .... and hardly ever ate any. I didn't want or need them. Anyway, I plan to start again next week and do Intermittent Fasting with Keto meal plans during the eating window. Keto worked for me and so did IF, so a combination should be great.
Don't be so hard on yourself. I do understand your pain because I have been in your shoes. Its the curse of the genetics and we have to give ourselves some grace and do the best we can. At the end of the day counting calories, exercising, doing keto day in day out is all exhausting making one feel cheated when you see how certain people can eat everything under the sun and never gain weight and have the best blood reports and there's others like you and I who toil away with each ounce of our willpower yet results do'nt come easy. Be kind to yourself.....stress and obsession does not help
What kind of exercise do you do
I don’t think keto is sustainable long term
I agree since starting LCHF I no longer crave sweets or chips...I actually crave things like Steak, Fish ,Green beans, Spinach and God forbid salads!
Your teachings have made such a good impact in my life and I can't thank you enough. I am healthier because of it. Keep up the good work.

Your videos with the information has changed my eating habits. I was totally against Keto lifestyle and decided it was not for me. After watching your videos where you explain things in a way I can understand, I decided to give it a try. It has been little over two weeks since I went on a Keto diet and I feel much better, I do not have cravings, I have noticed I am skipping meals and not snacking. I appreciate you doing these videos as I am sure they have helped more than just myself.
I would like to say a heart felt thank you to you Dr Sten. Thank you for not hiding this information behind a paywall. Thank you for sharing knowledge so freely and so excellently. You are a true helper of mankind. I am sure you will be extremely blessed by what you do. I have been looking for this information for a long time, really not understanding what causes belly fat is a mystery to people like me. You nailed it in this video so that I feel like I know what to do about the problem. Please keep doing what you do and let me know if you have a patreon or books that I can purchase. Well done Doc.
I was trying to lose belly fat for years but It was not possible. When i saw your video i started IF & low carb diet and within a month i lost significant amount of belly fat. And when i do OMAD i feel energetic my life has changed I am very thankful for you mr Ekberg!
OMAD is a Acronym for one meal a day
A calorie is not just a calorie! 🤯! I tried to explain this to my son by saying if I get 1000 calories of just veggies vs 1000 calorie of carbs and sugars, they are not the same. So telling someone to cut back on calories is not the answer. He says no one eats 1000 calories of veggies….totally missed the point!🙄. Love your videos.
Remind them we are not a mechanical machine. But a biological one controlled by hormones. Peace.
No one eats 100 cals of veggies? That's not much sweet potato at all, and even one bag of romaine has 60 cals. I add a huge handful of power greens and I'm almost there. I have a box of mushrooms and a large onion with my egg scramble, or eat a can of black olives...pretty sure I hit it quite easily every day! Do we get to add fruits like avocado and blueberries...eat those pretty much daily, too. Once u get off the pasta, rice, bread thing, u eat a lot of veggies. I can't eat much more meat than about 5oz...it's very filling!
Thank you Dr. Ekberg! Because of the information you have provided I have lost 30lbs over the past 6 months. I am 6'6" and was 250lbs, now 220 - 53 yr old male. I could hardly do a push up and now am doing sets of 25 from my toes. My arms started at 14" and now are 14.5" at the bicep. My waist started at 42 and now is down to 37 (when sucked in, lol). I cannot thank you enough for the improvement in my life quality, your information has turned my life around.
I was diagnosed as being hypoglycaemic in my teens when I kept passing out, feeling faint and wobbly. My doctor told me to always carry a Mars chocolate bar to have a shot of glucose if I started to feel faint. Now I'm nearly 60 and the pounds have piled on for the last 25 years or so and even intermittent fasting hasn't helped - because the apparently naturally higher insulin levels are preventing me accessing the stored fat. I'm looking forward to trying these new ideas to see if I can finally lose the excess weight. If only YOU had been my doctor all those years ago!!
Fantastic presentation. Sharing this with anyone who will listen. I have been a "health nut" for decades and have achieved a good bit of success but this presentation put it all together for me. In addition to this i have done the apple/olive oil liver detox several times and at age 62 removed two dozen gall stones. This ended pain in the gall bladder area permanently for me. You are helping so many people. Thank You!
I would love to know about the gall stone cleanse. Thanks!

Thanks Dr. Ekberg i have been watching your videos for a while and I changed my lifestyle and I'm intermittent fasting for 5 days a week and not fasting during the weekend. I have been doing this for two month and i lost 15 pounds with ease. Now I'm trying to stop eating junk food but it's not that easy . I stopped drinking any type of sugar drink i try to drink only water. Sometimes i drink beer when I'm out with friends.I'm doing little changes every week so i don't overwhelm myself.I think in the next few month i will have a healthier diet by doing little changes and not doing everything at once. I think doing little changes every week or month is better than changing your diet completely since day 1. Remember it's a marathon not a race :)
Just watched some pictures of fatty livers. This is the best motivation for me to avoid drinking beer and eating junk food.

Now I stopped to eat rice, bread, beans and daily! I eat them occasionally! Sir you changed my life for free😭😭I’m a happy wife and Mother! Thank you so much and my life style eating IF 18hrs! I love you and appreciate you 🙌🏾❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Love all your videos! Always so educational! What works for me is intermittent fasting and mostly keto. My metabolism is slow so I only eat once a day 5/6 times a week. Four months into it and I'm down 40 pounds. Still have 60 more to go. Its no longer a diet but like you say, a life style change. What really turn me around was understanding what insulin and fasting does to the body.
Good morning Kia Chang,
How are you doing today?
I did this 7 years ago, I can tell you it 100% works wonderfully!
I always did intermittent fasting when I was young...my mother called it “starving myself.” I didn’t have a term for I.F., and called it, “not eating past 6pm.” I used to make my poor mum crazy. She always insisted I was starving myself. I just didn’t feel well if I ate late in the day.
I think the concern especially with young people is that it could potential turn into an eating disorder. I think the key is paying attention to the behaviors of how they are fasting and noticing if it turns into a problem.
Pia you were a smart young cookie...love the name pia too

Thank you so much for this information. My wife and I started the keto diet a little over two weeks ago. I am diabetic, she is not. My daily blood sugars have dropped dramatically from an average of 180 or so to less than 90 everyday. In fact yesterday I had a low sugar issue with a BG of around 50. I was shaking and seemed very week. So today I am reducing my insulin injection. I have lost about ten pounds since we started. I have reached out to my endocrinologist for guidance but I have not yet received a response. Thank you for sharing this information.
That’s wonderful!

Can you speak about the hormonal changes women go through after 40 and how that affects weight gain? And if the keto diet works the same for those women as women who are not going through hormonal changes.
Keto works for me but I also do fasting and intermittent fasting. Age 72 and perfectly healthy.
Worked for me. First couple weeks tough so make sure you’re getting salt and vitamins. I’ve been on a year.
If you have hormonal problems, then you must definitely think about food intolerances... do you eat dairy? Do you eat wheat 🌾 ?

I have been studying this for a couple of years and more torn and confused then ever, EXCEPT for your videos. They resonate with me so clearly especially when I think of what's worked for me in the past to lose weight. I am so glad I found you now even though I'm over 50 and gone up and down with weight over my lifetime. Now what you make available is how I will be living my life! Thank you!!!
Very interesting explanation. This does not address habitual eating, which is why a lot of people are overweight. (me!) You can be "not really hungry" but you eat "because it's lunch time," or "dinner time," or "TV watching time." This psychological hunger can be as addictive as drugs!
When someone uses professional terms from a certain profession in their presentation, then it is the language of ignorance, not the language of knowledge. Fortunately for us, that is not the case here, and I am very happy to have a teacher like this! 👍
Keto and IF has been working great for me. I didn't think I would go on for this long, but why stop when I'm feeling better than ever?

Ok, I read something into it and they blame keto died because it raises LDL levels and LDL is "linked" with high heart disease risk. If you followed dr.Sten more, you might already know what LDL actually do and between it and heart disease it's a correlation not causation effect, LDL level being increased by metabolic syndrome. it's like saying increased police activity in a city dominated by gangs is the cause of all shootings or firefighter activity causes fires.

Recent weeks, my weight start dropping around 1kg per 2-3days, I felt great, and part of my grey hair starting turn dark as I had lots of grey hair since I was very young, doctor said it’s a genetic problem, well, I think I figured it out by myself.

Dr. Sten, I’m a personal trainer with a background on nutrition. I have to say that this video is probably the best self explanatory and truth all over the board.
I had to figure out myself from most of the thing you said, because they don’t teach any in nutrition classes. I adopted the “ Ideal LCHF/Paleo/IF ” by luck years ago, and at 50 years old I never diet neither, I successfully keep an extreme low body fat all year around with plenty energy. Yes I do exercise 6 days/week, I don’t think it’s my genetic that I’ve been given that allows me to be as healthy and in great shape as I am, rather than what you preach in this video.
Thank you for the information that you’re putting out there.
I pity your education if you are teaching people carbs are bad for them.

Good morning Addis today in Ethiopia. 😄
One year on Carnivore, plus IF 16-18 hrs, 2-3x per week has worked extremely well.
Any comments on constipation and/ or cholestoral/ heart uissues?
That explanation of different diets and effects is the most useful thing I’ve yet come across for clarification. I have ME, went clean keto some years ago, reversed most symptoms, lost a lot of weight. After a couple of years I started sliding into eating some carbs, bread, potatoes, regained a little weight but was okay. Then last year I was under huge stress for over 8 months, literally pure daily panic and fear. I wasn’t sleeping, eating anything and everything, and I began to gain belly fat, that I have never had before.
The stressful situation resolved a year ago, but the circle of BG, IR, cravings etc you describe was well established. And I am about 2 stone overweight at least. Your video has helped me a great deal in totally understanding what was going on, although I had an idea.
I knew I had to address this, I have been lowering carb intake over a few weeks, and 4 days ago finally removed them all. I went through a bit of a rough patch, but last night I slept 8 hours, today I feel less fatigued and have less general pain. And the cravings are I think almost gone! I always eat pretty clean, even if it’s carbs, have done all my life, and only eat twice a day at most, so I am basically doing ideal keto now. Fish, meat, allowed veg etc.
The only foods I miss are my one small spelt loaf that I had each week and potatoes, the latter close to an addiction so probably something I shouldn’t be eating anyway!
I really appreciate what you do, it’s wonderful clear information that gives us hope that we can actually get our bodies working correctly again. Thank you!
Good for you. I'm going to try too. 💖

I found out that my BP was 151/100 a couple of months ago. I have adopted a fresh, mostly single ingredient diet with low salt and saturated fats. I have avoided all highly processed food and am having at least 8 portions of fruit or veg each day. Im not worrying too much about fructose and I will only use olive oil. Ive tried kept but the wight returned after a year of returning to carbs do not for me unfortunately. On the fresh food diet that im enjoying, the weight loss is much slower but its not a diet as such, it's a lifestyle choice. Also my bowels are opening at least twice a day and that clean feeling inside me afterwards is wonderful.
I am feeling so fantastic, even after 8 weeks. I have lost 30 pounds in weight and 4 inches from my waist. I think im halfway there. Energy levels are high and BP is down to 140/90 so much improved. Cortisol is also released by consuming caffeine. This is why I have a pounding headache today and will try to bear this state for several days in order to quit caffeine use, which is not good for health. Last week I started quitting sugar consumption, which left me feeling hung over for several days as well. This will all be an uncomfortable struggle, but it has to be done.
Intermittent fasting with a low carb diet keeps the fat off. For me specifically, the first two weeks suck in terms of hunger, but the stomach shrinks from not having food in it, so hunger cravings go away. Then, you maintain, with cheat days of course. I never found exercise useful for weight loss. Diet is always better.
Don't do cheat days though. It keeps temptations coming and triggers relapse.
The best way to avoid cheat days and hunger is to slowly reduce the things you previously loved to eat that are high in carb out of your diet and experiment finding things that are low carb to introduce in to your diet. This way you can make a complete lifestyle change over a few months and improve you chances of keeping to it for the rest of your life.
Caloric deficit is the only thing that work. Intermitting fasting is a way to lower calorie intake. Low carb is also low cal.
If these tools help you get a deficit, great. But it was the caloric deficit that made you lose weight.
