I started losing weight in June due to very high blood pressure. Initially I just went with calorie deficiency but I soon hit a weight that I could not get below no matter how hard I tried. That's when I switch to 16:8 IF and even though I continued to loose weigh it wasn't nearly as dramatic. I am off my insulin totally staying below 180, down 30 pounds and two pants sizes. I'm focusing on healthy lifestyle, gave up my diet pop, 40 - 80 oz a day. Feel so much better and believe me motivated to make this a totally new lifestyle, sure wish I'd found your videos years ago. Thank you so much.

Great timing. Thanks Doc. I started Keto early last year and lost about 17 kilos by end of 2020 (went from 110.5kg to a very stubborn plateau at 93-94kg at the lowest point) with only moderate exercise. Then just before Xmas started back on the old way of eating (I used Xmas as an excuse to eat what I wanted) and since then gained back 10 of those kilos in pretty quick time. I feel quite ashamed of myself that I let it slip so badly, but at least I finally realised that this has to be a non-negotiable lifestyle each and every day. For me there can be no "Oh to heck with it, I'll eat pizza tonight", or "I'll grab a quick bowl of pasta" because I always found it quite difficult to get back on track after cheat days, and especially cheat weekends.
The really great thing about Keto, was that while I was on it I had zero desire for junk like chips, sweets, ice creams, etc .... and hardly ever ate any. I didn't want or need them. Anyway, I plan to start again next week and do Intermittent Fasting with Keto meal plans during the eating window. Keto worked for me and so did IF, so a combination should be great.

I have a box of mushrooms and a large onion with my egg scramble, or eat a can of black olives...pretty sure I hit it quite easily every day! Do we get to add fruits like avocado and blueberries...eat those pretty much daily, too. Once u get off the pasta, rice, bread thing, u eat a lot of veggies. I can't eat much more meat than about 5oz...it's very filling!

I was diagnosed as being hypoglycaemic in my teens when I kept passing out, feeling faint and wobbly. My doctor told me to always carry a Mars chocolate bar to have a shot of glucose if I started to feel faint. Now I'm nearly 60 and the pounds have piled on for the last 25 years or so and even intermittent fasting hasn't helped - because the apparently naturally higher insulin levels are preventing me accessing the stored fat. I'm looking forward to trying these new ideas to see if I can finally lose the excess weight. If only YOU had been my doctor all those years ago!!

Very interesting explanation. This does not address habitual eating, which is why a lot of people are overweight. (me!) You can be "not really hungry" but you eat "because it's lunch time," or "dinner time," or "TV watching time." This psychological hunger can be as addictive as drugs!

If you followed dr.Sten more, you might already know what LDL actually do and between it and heart disease it's a correlation not causation effect, LDL level being increased by metabolic syndrome. it's like saying increased police activity in a city dominated by gangs is the cause of all shootings or firefighter activity causes fires.

For last 6 months, I was struggling with my belly fat and I could not get rid off my last 10kg to drop down to 65kg.I was questioned about what I was doing, but I told myself to keep going. Recent weeks, my weight start dropping around 1kg per 2-3days, I felt great, and part of my grey hair starting turn dark as I had lots of grey hair since I was very young, doctor said it’s a genetic problem, well, I think I figured it out by myself.
To whom is struggling with losing weight on low carb, I think your body maybe taking the priority to heal the guts, especially the fat liver. Once it’s done, you can feel your weight dropping.

I had to figure out myself from most of the thing you said, because they don’t teach any in nutrition classes. I adopted the “ Ideal LCHF/Paleo/IF ” by luck years ago, and at 50 years old I never diet neither, I successfully keep an extreme low body fat all year around with plenty energy. Yes I do exercise 6 days/week, I don’t think it’s my genetic that I’ve been given that allows me to be as healthy and in great shape as I am, rather than what you preach in this video.

That explanation of different diets and effects is the most useful thing I’ve yet come across for clarification. I have ME, went clean keto some years ago, reversed most symptoms, lost a lot of weight. After a couple of years I started sliding into eating some carbs, bread, potatoes, regained a little weight but was okay. Then last year I was under huge stress for over 8 months, literally pure daily panic and fear. I wasn’t sleeping, eating anything and everything, and I began to gain belly fat, that I have never had before.
The stressful situation resolved a year ago, but the circle of BG, IR, cravings etc you describe was well established. And I am about 2 stone overweight at least. Your video has helped me a great deal in totally understanding what was going on, although I had an idea.
I knew I had to address this, I have been lowering carb intake over a few weeks, and 4 days ago finally removed them all. I went through a bit of a rough patch, but last night I slept 8 hours, today I feel less fatigued and have less general pain. And the cravings are I think almost gone! I always eat pretty clean, even if it’s carbs, have done all my life, and only eat twice a day at most, so I am basically doing ideal keto now. Fish, meat, allowed veg etc.
The only foods I miss are my one small spelt loaf that I had each week and potatoes, the latter close to an addiction so probably something I shouldn’t be eating anyway!
I really appreciate what you do, it’s wonderful clear information that gives us hope that we can actually get our bodies working correctly again. Thank you!

I found out that my BP was 151/100 a couple of months ago. I have adopted a fresh, mostly single ingredient diet with low salt and saturated fats. I have avoided all highly processed food and am having at least 8 portions of fruit or veg each day. Im not worrying too much about fructose and I will only use olive oil. Ive tried kept but the wight returned after a year of returning to carbs do not for me unfortunately. On the fresh food diet that im enjoying, the weight loss is much slower but its not a diet as such, it's a lifestyle choice. Also my bowels are opening at least twice a day and that clean feeling inside me afterwards is wonderful.
I am feeling so fantastic, even after 8 weeks. I have lost 30 pounds in weight and 4 inches from my waist. I think im halfway there. Energy levels are high and BP is down to 140/90 so much improved. I do not wish to be on medication for the rest of my days. Wake up, people, stop eating processed food, it's slowly killing us.

Intermittent fasting with a low carb diet keeps the fat off. For me specifically, the first two weeks suck in terms of hunger, but the stomach shrinks from not having food in it, so hunger cravings go away. Then, you maintain, with cheat days of course.
