Film description: On top of his game, the brilliant but arrogant New York City neurosurgeon with the magic hands, Dr. Stephen Strange, is more interested in fame and his perfect success rate than saving lives. Then, humbled by a nearly fatal car accident, and with both his impeccable career and his gifted hands mangled beyond repair, Strange heads to Kamar-Taj, a mystical place of healing in Kathmandu, begging the Ancient One, the Sorcerer Supreme and leader of the Masters of the Mystic Arts, for salvation and enlightenment. However, war is brewing over, as the corrupt, power-obsessed former disciple, Kaecilius, and his Zealots, are bent on unlocking an unfathomable parallel dimension, and usher in a new dark era on Earth. Now, the world is on the verge of destruction. Can Doctor Strange harness his extraordinary newfound abilities, and accept his destiny?

Dr. Strange Finds Kamar-Taj: ruclips.net/video/mQdaXGwFv_w/видео.html
Pangborn was a real one. He didn't try to exploit Strange for the info, he empathized with him and gave it freely.
Because he is an enlightened person...
Honestly, I respect that they showed that not everyone wants to go full sorcerer and dedicate their lives to it. Some people just want what they have back, and that's enough. That seems like a pretty realistic outcome.
And I love that the sorcerers are okay with people just returning to normal after they gain what they want with their power. There's no obligation or sworn oath or anything. The knowledge is free for anyone to use however they see fit, as long as they don't hurt anyone.
All good up until you get zealots like Baron Mordo. lol
@@albertpaul1094Yeah lol, Pangborn was just living normally with the magic then Mordo came up and took it away. Brutal af
I love that there is wifi at Kamar-Taj
TBF. Pangborn says he didn't have the strenght to learn more. It could mean he didn't have the mental fortitude to go further, but it could also mean he just didn't have the magical capabilities to go further.
There probably are oaths and obligations if someone once to go further, its just that if you can't there isn't any reason to hold that against you if you choose to leave. If you learned only a little bit, don't plan on being malicious, and just want to live a peaceful life, then it makes all sense to just let them go.
If learning magic was easy, I would expect it to be more mainstream. It's likely not everyone can learn or get good at it, along the side of gatekeeping to prevent misuse. This would obscure and mystify the art so no one would believe it could exist.
Yeah kinda falls apart when you have people still getting paralysed and shit and these people are just sitting on the solution, twiddling their fingers, like "oh... you all wanted to walk??? How come you never asked???"
Doesn't make sense. Either go full secrecy or visa versa. But the opposite never happens because then the writers actually have to think and portray a world effected by sorcery in a million different ways.
One of my favorites scene in the movie, especially with the background music. "There were deeper secrets to learn there but I didn't have the strength to receive them. I chose to settle for my miracle and I came back home. "
Damn this scene has so much meaning. The first time Strange met Pangborn there was 2 layers of fence. The moment they started talking there was 1 and when Pangborn shared his information there was none
I didnt notice that about the fence, thats an amazing way to show pangborn letting his fences down, opening to stephen
Damn, the detail
This scene has a lot of wisdom. In the beginning of the movie Dr. Strange is seen as an egotistical doctor thinking that he is better than his peers. After he gets into the car accident. He cannot rely on himself anymore to fix things. He is searching for something bigger than himself. My favorite line is. "The cost is high." "how much?" "I am not talking about money" (ego, old beliefs, Control, fears etc.") He even says " good luck!" to Dr. Strange with a smirk on his face because he already knows how hard it is for his ego to let go. Thanks for sharing this clip!
An underrated performance by Benjamin Bratt
And nothing comes of the end credits. :(
It shows that Jonathan had changed from when he first arrived at the feet of the ancient one. By pointing Stephen to Kamar Taj, this is him paying it forward because others took pity on him, so how could he do no less?
Pang = a sudden sharp pain or painful emotion.
Born = come into existence as a result of birth.
Stephen is a Pangborn, too.
Underrated comment
Then Stephen looked up "Kamar-Taj" on the internet. Turned up no results. Then the credits roll.
There was one result. Turned out to be an online scam and he died broke.
😂@@citruslime377
Shoutout to Pangborn for being one of the steps in Stephens becoming Sorcerer Supreme and one of the main factors in saving half the universe. If you think about it, he definately had every right to not tell Strange how he was fixed, considering Strange didn't even at least attempt to fix him. But he did.
Imagine if Pangborn actually decided to be a sorcerer. He'd be a decent sorcerer.
Somewhere in the infinite branches of Yggdrasil, he is.
I mean... he says straight out he didn't have the strength for it. Be a waste of his life and he knew it
He literally says in this scene that he couldn't have been
@@ALMarkAZ1990He's Sorcerer Supreme in one of them haha
@@Thickolas i remember my teacher always says, sometimes the ones you teach that has hard times understanding what you teach if he get it he will understand it better than the ones who learn easier
I've always been surprised that Benjamin Bratt doesn't make more movie because he's really good every time he's on the screen
He is a fantastic character actor.
For real.
He takes care of his money and with a net worth of $12 million, he can likely be selective about roles.
Check out the film, Love in a time of Cholera.
One of the most underrated Marvel movies.
It's my absolute favorite MCU film in the entire saga(s). I can rewatch it all day long and never get tired of it. The acting, writing, music, cinematography, effects, story, and villain, all of them are incredibly well done. To the point where I empathize with Kaecillius (however you spell it), cry when the Ancient One dies, and laugh at every "I've come to bargain!", you know the movie is truly something special.
(forgive me, I'm super stoned writing this)
Agreed and one of the best Marvel themes!
It's my favourite one.
I liked this movie and hated the second one.
Top 5 for me. It gets better with each watch.
pangborn actually means rebirth through pain. It's so suiting for his last name.
I see this version of Benjamin Bratt and feel like he would be a perfect Sam Drake.
It always cracked me up how Dr. Strange acted like his life was over. Like he couldn’t practice anymore. Homie is an MD and could’ve easily gone into another field of medicine. 😂 General Practitioner or something of the sort.
He could but look at his big Ego. Someone like Strange would have never settled for something less then what he was used to.
Imagine if you were crew chief of an F1 race team, then the next day all you can do is oil changes at Jiffy Lube. that's the fall he's experiencing
You know what's crazy with his level of intelligence he could of gotten his life back together incredibly easily with countless high paying jobs to maintain his lifestyle. But he chose to seek monks and wizards in a hope to restore his previous gluttonous lifestyle.
It wasn't about money, if it was he would probably choose any of the other jobs available to him for someone of his reown. It was because he wanted to go back and do what he was good at: surgery. He was the best in his field and now that it was taken away from him he feels like he has nothing left.
I've never been the best at anything, but I have been good at a couple things - and losing them hurts. Hurts bad. His whole identity was tied up in his hands. He probably wowed his teachers at med school and probably had an incredibly high success rate (maybe higher than it should have been as seen here, but any high % doctor/lawyer etc can't take on no-win situations) in the operating room. People have spent more in an attempt to get back less.
21, Shattered T2 L4, L5 S1 S2 this is my favorite movie clip all time, wish it worked like this irl
It's probably not called kamar-taj irl, but it's out there...
@@SolFormationyup, everything Hollywood puts out takes inspiration from reality. Kong vs Godzilla’s Hollow Earth refers to Agartha/Shambhala which the Kamar-Taj network is likely a part of. German SS went looking for it in WWII, many of them including Hitler were Buddhist.
@BenjaminBratt is a good actor. He would a played well another role in Doctor Strange.
I guess when there is a scene that Dr strange and Wong Investigating the rapid decrease of sorcerer affiliated with kamar-taj that They meet pangborn who has now paralyzed after mordo Snatch his magic that makes strange and Wong realized that mordo starts his Crusade of erasing sorcerers on earth

I think this one was better than MoM... I think they should have kept Scott Derrickson. His mix of horror and groundedness was a good fit for a character as wild as a Dr. Strange. Raimi is god-level, but I think he was a surprisingly poor fit in my humble opinion :/
Multiverse of madness was pretty terrible. Strange himself had almost no character development and the whole movie doesn't sit right in the mcu
@@merl7972deels like all new marvel movies apart from GoTG
"How did you do it?"
"I had to have faith in my dream. No one was going to hand it to me. It was up to me to reach for that dream, hold it tight and make it come true."

This movie was a 'mid-tier' Marvel movie when it came out, at the time, but now after what we have had post Endgame, this is a fucking masterpiece..
We are so close for Marvel Studios Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness on May 6th (2022).
What a great american accent. Benedict cumberbatch very great actor
Dr strange is the all-time underrated marvel movie 👍
The realism and the fantasy in this movie is so good 👍.
Someone once noted that Pangborn might have been Hammer Industries' test pilot in Iron Man 2.
Hell yes Benjamin bratt sense
Fully healing learning next level sh!t just to go back and play basketball lol that's like returning to carpet store after beating cancer.
Nice reference
Absolutely hate the mid-credits scene that just throws a completely unnecessary "Fuck You" to this interesting character. Why even bother screwing him over by taking his powers if the character never gets mentioned again?
I feel this scene after surviving septic shock
I really like this movie.
That guy is Paco from Blood in Blood out, incase yall familiar with that movie
that small reference from his friend saying
"Hey Pangborn, are you in or you out?"
Los Vatos Locos forever!
mira! tres puntos like spider! @@pcwmoondoggie
And Ernesto De La Cruz from Coco.
I’ve been to this basketball court before
It’s a real shame what happened to pangborn in the end mordo was a fucking prick for doing that to him
Oh. I was hoping it was Franklin Pangborn. Now THAT would have been a movie!
I realized pangborn is also from the movie "Blood in blood out" such a great actor.
goddamn Strange blew up Pangborn's spot
I always wondered how Doctor strange knew, kamar Taj was in Kathmandu. It was never mentioned
Paco: hechiceros supremos por siempre, que no?
The night is dark and full of wonders.
Too bad we never see his character again.
Thats the first time i noticed someone say fuck in a mcu movie
Guardians 3. No F bomb in this. Closest is a F Bomb in second season of Daredevil.
And.. the rest as they say is history.
this guy was in many 80's or 90's VCDs or DVDs.
Law and Order
I just realized that Jonathan Pangborn is also Det. Rey Curtis from Law & Order (season 6-9)
And the voice of Ernesto De La Cruz from Coco.
I remember this happening to me in real life. The Ancient One took me to Kathmandu Nepal when I was 4 years old and she put me in a cage with Stephen Strange and both me and my Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange Benedict Cumberbatch have been together ever since 🧙♂️💙♥️🧙♀️💙💜
I come here because of Saw X when John Kramer searching for his brain tumor surgery.
Moral of the story : Doctor for 6 a week & play whatever game i like to play is other one day .... I like this way to live
And I would be saying "...And that was Taj-ma what? Can you spell it for me?"
Someone has been doing some research .... I can tell
Great scene, rather ruined by a gormless after-credits sequence in the sequel. Literally nothing good came out of Multiverse of Madness. It's like Marvel's magic died with Iron Man.
So what happen to him at the end. Did he lose his power from the dark place?? Cuz wasn’t that where he was drawing his power from
Limited information on him as he only gets mentioned in this movie, but Mordo apparently stole his ability to use magic, which prevented him from "channel[ing] dimensional energy directly into his own body". And quick side note: He wouldn't have been drawing power from the Dark Dimension like Kaecilius and co, as that was forbidden magic. More than likely it was just some other spell.
Por su culpa le chingaron la espalda a cruzito, y en esta película el fue el que se chingo la espalda
I gotta know what is the place Pangborn was playing basketball in?
It's in London, underneath a highway pass in harrow road, I know because I use to regularly play there, but unfortunately they removed the court. Not sure if they plan on renovating it or not.
Ernesto de la Cruz before Coco.
I’m sorry what is C-8 spine? TH-1 goes after C-7
but there are 8 cervical nerves since the first one starts above the vertebrae and the last below.
This paco from blood in blood out?
That’s why he left Manny and Gloria…
Was this the soldier from Ironman 2 that fucked up his back?
I don't think so. He sounds like he tried to get Strange's help long before he had the car accident. And if you listen to the conversation in the car you hear a guy tell Stephen about a 32(?) year old Air Force Col. who crushed his spine is "some kind of experimental armor". We know by the events of Civil War that the War Machine is not considered experimental. So it only leaves the pilot of Justin Hammer's prototype suit.
Sorry wow. I totally lost my train of thought there. Holy crap
What was my point? I'm so stoned right now. I'm sorry. I'll leave.
There's no such thing as C-8! There are only seven cervical vertebrae, so if anything it would be a C-7/T-1 spinal cord injury. How did Marvel screw that up?
The c8 spinal nerve exists, but you are right there is not a c8 vertebrae. The c8 nerve exits between c7 and t1. Why did they name it c8? Because there is a nerve on top of, and below each vertebrae, so there is more nerves than there are vertebrae, so they had to add a number on to the cervical nerves. Hope this helps clear up the confusion.
@@nohandle935Almost feels like a bit of an Easter Egg for all the Neurosurgical people.
Dr. stranger: C7, C8 LMAO 😂😂😂😂 there are only 7 cervical bones.
