Running out of fuel is an emergency, you are allowed to access emergency services via a dock, especially an unused empty one. kinda thin but all i got :))
Finally a new video 😊
I actually love 💕 it when Wavey talks it’s so cute - she has lots to say so let her talk 💕
She thinks she's the star Lisa;)
First of all, I love your name. Second of all, I agree about the dog! I get such a kick out of it that I oft' find myself replaying it over and over again. Have a wonderful remainder of the day or night!
Reruns 🤔 lake Superior & back to Florida 🤔..... Odd
Welcome to Florida you are experiencing the old Farts we have here with nothing better to do than complain about the boaters. Don’t be discouraged the farther north you go the better it gets. Have a safe trip. 👍
Thank you Stan. I'm quickly becoming an old fart myself! ;)
Tip for you, try rain-x on your windows. I once rode with someone who didn't have working windshield wipers and I was amazed at how clearly I could still see and it was raining really hard going down the highway in California were everyone does ten over. To get best results clean windows first than dry then use rain-x.
the dingy dock issue, LOL, its just like "Get off My Lawn!!!!!"
Animation film, "Monster House" makes good fun of the recluse.
Give way the rich folks are coming through!!!🤣🤣🤣
The Atlantic side of FL is full of retired New Yorkers and Mass-holes. The gulf side is more southern and Midwestern retirees. That's why there is such a difference in the way they treat strangers.
You are so right. The difference in attitudes from the east to west sides is amazing.
FACT
Keep your heart thankful for all the great and friendly people you've met along the loop.
Birds of the air will be fed on the fly.
Amen to THAT!
Say a prayer for that lock master never know what kind of load he had to bring into work with the men what his life is like I tell you it's easy to get our feelings hurt not realize the pressures that are on the other men in this world,, you seem like a forgiving gentleman so stay safe and let God lead you through them locks
Oh yes, that's why I just kept it to myself (and you guys) the world is heating up and people are stressed.
Michigander checking in!! Great new loop video!! Semper fidelis to my brothers
Your doing a fantastic job I love what you do an say❤❤❤❤
Thank you for that valuable feedback and encouragement;)
Been waiting on this video for 3 weeks...let me get a beer and settle in. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for another great video ..
There's been a push in parts of Florida trying to do away with anchoring, and one of the first things they usually do to discourage that is take away dockage for dinghies and access to land from the water..
It's all about the money,.. they don't want people living there for free
@@karaDee2363 if it's all about ppl need to call in to that county or write to them and explain that you wanted to spend a good bit of money and maybe more since you're a tourist and since you can't dock legally, you know have to take your money over to the next county over. And state that it saddens you cause you were looking forward to exploring their town or city and now you can't. If they get enough ppl calling and writing in, I guarantee they will find a way to put in a dock ounce they realize all the revenue they could be making.
No. They don't want people tramping (literally) thru their property, leaving trash, poop, theft etc. Would you want some stranger to park their motorhome in front of your house and use your lawn to pee in?
There is a percentage of the liveaboards who are NOT good, nice people. Its "those" people that ruin it for everyone.
Wonder hussy and the beagle are the only tube people I watch, great minds you 2 !!!!!
@@georgesass447 love!!! Wonder Hussy;)
She shaved her pits lately? 😅
Had no idea there was a ring channel in the lake. Pretty cool how they did that.
Hi Chris, I'd say 80% of it is protected by barrier/spoil islands too. Cutting straight across is quicker I'm sure, but we had nothing but wind. Thank you for being a member of the channel
Another good reason for solar electric boat
Pause the remote… so gosh darn true
Man all these Florida videos have been painful to watch, just people, people, and more people all over the place. Give me the Upper Mississippi and Great Lakes any day.
^^^what he said :)
It gets cold here in Minnesota, I'm okay here for 5 months but that's it
Ditto that 4zz6
Fix the problem stay on the Tennessee River folks much more friendly
Thanks!
@Artoconnell Thank you Art! That is very kind and very helpful.
Not sure about there but in Fort Myers the problem with anchoring is to many people just walk away from their boats and leave them there and then the municipalities argue over who has to get rid of them. Happens with every hurricane too, lots of boats sink and it's to expensive to get them hauled out so people just walk away from them. You'd be shocked at how many boats are capsized and sit there for a couple of years in the water. I do agree with the dingy docks though, that would be nice.
Just my opinion. I’m sure you’re not gonna hurt anything by going ashore but generally Let a few people start using it, and then they abuse it and now look at any launch ramp when you get people using it they always always abuse it and make a mess of it.
Its the sad truth. High trust people in a low trust world.
Yep there a Karen everywhere worst then fleas, glad to see you made that turn now heading north.
Indian Town is storage. A lot of boats get abandoned, but not all...
This was a great video. Thank you.
Thank you Ken ;)
Your state of mind has transitioned from "They are opening this lock for little ol me" to "Gee this guy is a grump and why can't this town build me a dock"....you think that lockmaster doesn't get stepped on all day by those big yacht elites? They see your boat and they finally can vent some frustration as they know they won't lose their job because of you. 🙂
You're on to something;) the Okeechobee was a bit of a challenge for us attitude wise. I'm not exactly sure why. Wind in our faces for days, heat...and grumpy lock masters;) or maybe it's just me.
Love your channel! Keep it up!
That farmers market at Fort Pierce is nice.
We stay in the Fort Pierce/Stuart area every December because of family. I agree with you their issues with allowing others to access the shore. Sorry that happened to you and Wavey. Also sorry to hear about Wavey not feeling better. Sending warm thoughts and prayers.
Wavey is back to her pouty self Dawne ;)
I don’t know why the water turns emerald green, but I do know if it turns magenta, REVERT! Thanks for another fun adventure Brenton and Wavey!!! Just beautiful.
Soon...all water will be magenta, along with the sky :) Even "space" Eva :)
@@backwatersandbackroads Even “space” :)
Another cool video
People are jackasses sometimes those condo Commandos are ridiculous
Sneak on the beach at night. Get some night vision goggles 😅
@JoeHasGotToGo not a bad idea;) stealth beagle poop and pee mission
24:34 definitely add that to the Anchorage notes.
If you think that's bad check out Miami between closing anchorages and dinghy docks and boats breaking loose and wrecking along with some illegal dumping. They are limiting the number of boats that can anchor in some areas.
I've seen some reports on that. No thank you!! I'll put up with winter ;) lol
When we were in place like that Doc and I would do night time commando raids sometimes we would take turns taking the dog ashore while the other person would go out and watch from the dinghy we always dressed like tourists for fun and just blend in.
One lady complained that all of the beautiful sailboats were ruining her view from her hideous concrete box that blocked our view of the ocean go figure . If only we could have been born in the days of Hubbard.
You understand this issue well ;)
There all from NY
Not just everywhere provides cake balls and a place to tie up for the night 😂 Come on back to Tn. Beautiful scenery again in this video. Good job.
A friend once told me, the west coast of Florida has more midwesterners while the east coast of Florida has more people from the northeast. It makes sense but I don't know if its true
It's true. South Florida has lots of New Yorkers.
It's definitely true but we really don't want anyone coming down here to live it's getting way too crowded in south Florida.
Absolutely true.
Absolutely true, that's why I stay on the west coast of Florida myself
As a REAL local, it is 100% true. We hate them. They are the rudest nastiest people I have ever met.
Brenton … Thank you for the new video … I was having “wavy withdrawals”
Thank you for continuing to be interested in our loop adventure...and being a member;)
Love it.
Love the different things you run into.
I’m up in Duluth/Superior in early August. I’ll buy you a beer and would love to hear more stories!
@@toddbrauselling the anchor bar in Superior is a good place. Castle Danger in tap
Great job and I don’t know what to say about the people in fort pierce im sure there’s good people there the ones in the condo wishing they were in your shoes and could be for what they spend and HOA ever mo I’m sure they could
Thanks
Welcome to the "Cliff Dwellers"!
@IntheBlood67 that's it! That's what they are ;) modern day cliff dwellers. Brilliant
There are plenty of public spots to access that causeway. Problem was they are all on the north shore. Ft. Pierce is a great boating area.
Wow. Can't believe what happened to you at Fort Pierce! Sad, but people can be very unwelcoming. Come to Long Island. Love your video.
Snowbirds and transplants are the worst in good ole FLA. I reckon they worked their fingers to their bones all their lives to live the Florida dream, and now they’re disappointed and ready to take it out on anyone who crosses their path😂
Mad they don't know where the fountain of youth is... But i do.
Lord preserve us from grumpy lock keepers and snooty neighbours. Hope Wavey is feeling better now ❤
I know right Greta?? It started out well with all those sweet female lock and bridge tenders...then it went down hill from there
@backwatersandbackroads you get those types everywhere, unfortunately
Hi 👋 Brenton and Wavey 😊😊
Hi Greg!! --Wavey Gravey
Good morning from Alabama ❤
Good morning Bev! :)
If it were left to me I would never allow anyone to build houses etc on our shores.
Oh my! Very scary crossing! And as to your frustrations about dinghy access - I agree! Purely for a business/commerce priority, why wouldn't a community want people to come ashore and spend $$$ in their area??? Doesn't make dollar sense, particularly since those beach access points are so reasonably constructed.
22:21 there's no telling if that sign was put there by the local government or by angry old people either
Another good vid Brent. Pet the pup for me
You got it buddy. Thanks for sticking around;)
No dingy docks and no public bathroom is sorta similar. 😬
They exist. He just chose to be far away from that area.
and you can tell a mans heart if he he has LOVE FOR HIS DOG , and all, and self, and all the others' too...

I'm glad you drink Craft Beer 🍺 😉 I knew there was some reason I like you 👍 and your channel.
Oh yeah! I love sampling the local brews. Reef donkey in Florida is dangerously good!
@backwatersandbackroads one of my favorites is Imperial Triple Chocolate Milk Stout from Flying Money 🐒 10%abv
More rxciting than the rich citys in florida
Ft. PIERCE is dying...I lived there in the late 60s, full of people going back an forth up the coast. Never been a very friendly place.
Lotta AIDS though haha
10-12pct growth every census for the last few says otherwise.
The world is sick my man
Things are definitely heating up.
That opening unknown statement was me
I’ve said it many times
Just ask my dog
FYI, Indian Town Marina, "where old boats go to die" (not a totally fair description). Was tucked in about a mile before the marina you showed. The marina you showed is a newer creation called Indian Town Marine Center.
That burned down mega ship sure looked like it died :(
People are idiots. You should try waiting tables if you don't believe me. There's my rant in reply to yours LOL. I wrote a column in the local paper for 14 years called "Lisa's Rants and Raves" so it comes naturally. I'm with you on this one. xo
Getting paid to rant!! That has to be right up there with rock star;)
@@backwatersandbackroads LOL well my paid portion of said job was being the ad rep and a reporter also. I worked there for 16 years and did the column for 14. When the "C V" situation unfolded, I had a very different view on things and the boss asked me to "switch gears" on my column so I gave it up. (I will say he let me get away with giving actual information to the public not from mainstream news for some time though, in his defense.) Whew, I know you did not ask for this explanation but it's in my nature to blather on from time to time! Thanks for the great vid. Loved the end with Wavey and the woman giving her a treat. xo
I used to read that.
@@LisaHouserman are those columns archived? I think Andy Rooney and Dave Barry had the two best jobs anyone could have. Could you imagine getting paid large amounts of money to speak your mind
@@backwatersandbackroads I love both of them! I think they are still on the website. I haven't checked for years at this point. I wanted to get away from having to take my job home with me plus things were slowing down there so I decided to fall back on my delightful waitress skills and am back to slinging hash at a local diner! I'm 60 so I am the older cranky waitress and I LOVE it! I mentioned before I live in a resort town called Conneaut Lake in PA. I will check to see if the columns are still on the site and let you know at some point in the future. xo
Just watched u on channel "another time another place".

@billcheek4308 I'm getting there ;) sometimes I wonder if I'll make it to official old age.
I know my achy joints are part of getting old. Now I gotta be grumpy too?
@@earnestmetz9834 it's catching up to all of us!
👍
They are all afraid of everything including you and Wavy. They have nothing else to do
Unfortunately, people always ruin things by being butt heads. Anchorages attract bums and abandoned boats.
Davey Jones of the Monkeys, passed away in Indiantown. He had horses there. I guess he lived there to. 🤷🏼
Nice,,do you need a license to operate your 2 m a marine radio ,, I think I would like ham radio see to see what different contacts I could make while I was out there,, I used to have my license but I let him expire about 6 years ago I was in the hospital with the couple of heart surgeries in lost interest in everything and now I sort of wish I had kept them up I checked about getting them back and took a couple of practice test and passed them so I'm thinking about getting them again now that you can do it online,, God bless stay safe and you're the beagle keep having fun,
There's no license required for years marine radio. Ham is different (as you know) I always thought it would be neat to dp the ham things too. I have a hand held that will send and receive ham...people always get upset when I show it ;) the ham folks are a peculiar group
What are your thoughts on going around the southern tip of Florida, Everglades etc?
@@scottcanfield8872 I think it would be awesome, but it will definitely take more time and be warm.
So were there ever times out in the big water you thought you were outta control? Super bad waves or was it pretty smooth all things being relative I guess. Little boat every wave big I’m guessing. I’m talking duty your shorts big?
@50caliber16 the only time in 8 months that I worried a little was south of Titusville (coming up soon) there were these crazy sheer winds that hit us from the side, I almost felt like we could capsize. We ended up turning into them and behind a wind shadow
This houseboat living is my boyfriends dream. But i want to get a chunk of land in the U.P. i want to be by our beautiful Superior.
@ruthhaught4296 both! Superiorland home-base and a Shanty. Throw in some scooters and you got the last good lifestyle left ;)
Don't you worry about all the saltwater hitting your equipment, e.g. the scooter (!) ?
Oh yeah. The scooter is junk now ;)
I'm planning to get started on my Loop adventure on a shanty boat. I was wondering if you think you could have gone around the south of Florida and Key's Brenton? Like did you go through Okeechobee because the houseboat couldn't go around the Key's way?
@livingritual1965 wr definitely could go around the keys. I honestly don't think there's anywhere a Shanty boat can't go if you judge the weather and wait for proper windows. There's at least 2 more fellas gearing up their shantys for the loop now
I meant the cut...not the channel...
The bad attitude lock guy is most likely no a Floridian.
Im a native. 47 years old and most of us are hospitable
Shouldn't have any problem selling the famous Beagle Barge when you're done with it...
Never! I'm riding it to the bottom of Lake Superior when I'm 103 years old ;)
South Florida looks like hell to me. Way too many (entitled) people.
Do property rights make one entitled or demanding use of someone else's property make one entitled?
@@johnrocheleau7959 where I live there is no such thing as a private beach.
@@ghalston5641 A dock is not a beach. Below the mean high tide line is public.
@@johnrocheleau7959 obviously,, when I mention a beach, I mean a beach.
Neighbors are hard to find now days
40 acres and a mule (or beagle) ;)
"You damn kids" lol i agree. I appreciate private property. But when you already share it with 300 other retired folks and its right in front of a gas station you think they would allow beagle easement. In my opinion they may be jealous that they worked for 50 years and never had any real adventures.
You can't own the water man. Its God's water.
I think there is a little "we worked our whole life, you're cheating" resentment
Geez what a troublemaker!!! Should have had his ass thrown in jail and Wavy straight to the pound!!! Where Wavy will tell them she's being held hostage!!!🤣🤣🤣
Snowbirds and transplants are the worst in good ole FLA. I reckon they worked their fingers to their bones all their lives to live the Florida dream, and now they’re disappointed and ready to take it out on anyone who crosses their path😂
Florida… A great place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there again. It’s just too many people in transition and not that hospitable. Now there are some exceptions in the northern part of the state.
Did you put a anode in the engine before you left?
@Partimepeasant it already had a like new one on it. The zinc on the hull was just about gone when we pulled out.
What marine radio do you use
@billycadle5792 just a little handheld
Did notice the sail boats without a mast? Are they abandoned? You hit on it, they don’t want you anchor there. I’ve not commented before, I consider myself frugal, you make me look like a big spender. Realize there some really impolite boaters
The sailboats in the cove...they were not being used for a while. The more time I've spent in Florida, the more I realize there's a growing problem with these kinds of issues. Too many people trying to live the good life. Reminds me of growing up in California
A simple accommodation leads to sales/gasoline tax revenue.
I’ll tell you why they didn’t want you to pull up to the beach. It’s probably the most exciting event they’ve had in the past year. They have nothing better to do than whine and complain.
Agreed I would have had them in for lunch dogonnit!
They do not want you there.
It started to sink in ;)
Seems the more money in an area the more assholes there are. Those people that live in what looks like a paradise seem so uptight and grouchy I just don't understand I guess. Nonetheless great video informative while entertaining. Keep up the good work.
Dude...love your work...my first dog was a beagle...get a mutt at the farmers market next time...boring on the channel...
I found Ft. Pierce to be a crappy town, even some of the people working at the marina's were snobs. There is a lot of crime in that town so maybe that's why they have the attitude they do....
Jack A**'s ruined it, Lived on a boat in Fla. for 6 years, it's sad
random government agency?! nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I live here in Fort Pierce. Im so sorry about the rude people not letting you park your dingy. But there are many places you could have pulled up to and not get yelled at. At one point I see you're around the condos. Get away from them. Also we've had illegals come up that inlet from the ocean so maybe people that live along there are nervous about anyone on the waters there. We're friendly retirees here in Fort Pierce. Im sorry you experienced the unfriendly ones.
Oh it's okay ;) I actually see a lot of their points. I'm a land owner too. The problem needs to be solved by the local government (which of course they aren't doing)
@@backwatersandbackroads Saying local government here sucks would be too polite.
Its not like theyve got dingys lined up to make camp. Selfish people.
Move on
