How could they do this? How can they release this comic, but leave it on a cliffhanger!? It's outrageous, it's unfair!

Oh calm down guys you have all been given a great deal The fact of the matter that it takes time to do these kind of things it’s not like the clone wars and others movies or series They need to be made in time after the matter of days or weeks
They could have done worse, they could have bundled the comic with a bag of sand.

Yes I in general actually prefer the new canon comics to the old legends ones. I think the comics are the best piece of Disney canon because they’re less overblown than the EU comics and books. They’re more gritty and rooted in realism with more emotion and less bogged down by ridiculousness and people who have god-tier powers which I hate in legends because it's focused on way too much.
So are movies like rouge one that was a really good music.

Jonathan Marcus The problem is Vader has god-tier powers. The comics are the opposite unrealistic in a Star Wars sense. Emotionally they’re better but canonically not really. Star Wars can be made gritty and emotional in other ways.
@@jonathanmarcus1096 agree. I really like how the comics connect the prequel and original triology together while still creating an engaging story. Meanwhile the sequel triology has been a disappointment and nothing of a rehash.
I wish they would make a movie specifically about Darth Vader. We all know that it would sell extremely well

I mean they were but I have no clue what happened I even saw the concept trailer it was gonna change like 40% of canon too so in a way I’m glad it never came out but it still would have been interesting. It was also gonna give Ahsoka a huge part.

This comic is a nice bridge between the ruthless Vader we see in empire and the broken down man we meet in ROTJ. After his son rejects him just like Padme did, he is finally having to face some ugly truths. His confusion, and pain is the only reason the handmaidens managed to hurt him at all. Yet this also the second time he has spared Sabe's life. He really doesnt want to hurt any more parts of Padme, especially someone wearing her face. He really did love her. It's truly heartbreaking. Yet it helps soften him up enough he dies willingly for their son in the end, and his pain his finally over.
Exactly, this journey is what leads to Vader's later admission to Luke that "it's too late for me."
So that greatly explains why Vader is weak in the ROTJ
@@hisnotsolonely2961 Yeah, the power of the Sith comes from the Dark Side, which feeds on Anger and Hate. Once Vader falters and starts to regret and loses his Anger, it is only natural that he also grows weaker. So I really love how the Comics show that path.
Vader in Episode 6 didn't lose to Luke because Luke suddenly got that powerful (he did, but not on the Level of Vader at his height), but rather because Vader grew weaker as he let go of his Negative Emotions and started to truly regret his past, thus more and more losing his connection to the Dark Side.

Ah, but he didn't! In one of those red screens, you see him sitting up and apologizing to Padme for failing to stop Vader. Vader purposefully spared his life by impaling his shoulder to incapacitate instead of kill. This all began after the droid said "what lesson anyone might draw from that information is entirely up to them." I think what the droid said after killing that creature had more of an effect then a casual reader might give credit.

Non lethal impaling. It’s kind of telling that Anakin is slowly emerging... he didn’t kill any name characters in this issue. That’s a start.

You’re absolutely right! The fact that he isn’t a pure psychopath and does have A conscience hinders his dark sides abilities. He’s tried to bury his ability to be empathetic in the back of his head but you can’t truly ever get rid of it unless you’re incapable of feeling it from birth like Palpatine
@@jonathanmarcus1096 Exactly, Anakin wasn't bad person he suffered, he was confused and he was afraid to lose Padme same like he lost his mother. Dark side wasn't his goal or power. He just wanted protect who he loved. After that, when he lost Padme he hated himself and that's how he replace Anakin with Vader. To protect him self from suffering.
@@zaqwerty22 Yeah I completely agree! Vader was never completely evil, because Anakin physically can't be due to his constant self-hatred because he has a strong ability to be empathetic deep down.
He was also weaker than Sidious because Sidious never intended to properly teach him so that Vader could one day surpass him and take his place, as originally intended by the Rule of Two.
@@DarkEinherjar If Vader/Anakin would be fully sith then he would supras Sidous. Sooner or later. But emperor was last person who left for him in galaxy, before he learn about his soon.

As for the Handmaidens, I'm not entirely surprised Vader spared them, though I was half-expecting him to kill them.

Honestly low-key kinda felt bad for Vader fighting someone with the same face as someone who once loved Him, the only person he thought loved him. I liked the flash backs Vader had it showed how much this fight was more mental then physical. Never thought I'd feel that sad for Darth Vader Dark Lord Of The Sith
I’m really digging this arc, and I love seeing hints of Anakin starting to re-emerge... though I gotta say I know Padme was a beloved leader and all but the degree of loyalty these people have for her some 20 years after her death feels slightly cultish...
People like cults in the Star Wars galaxy. Sith Eternal. Order of Revan. Prophets of the Dark Side.The Jedi Order. Etc... Sometimes I think whenever the Force is involved, there is an innate draw towards cultish behavior.

I like how you can see how broken the guy is when he hesitates and gives them a chance to live, and hesitates again when they all gang up on him.
That was a deep comic. Vader is a really fascinating character that I don't seem to tire of. His spiritual journey is so emotional.

I'm on season 4 of clone wars and damn I wish they had that level of character development for Anakin in the movies. That series really is required viewing for star wars fans.

I think in a way this helped further sway him more back to the light side and open his mind further to what luke said to him on the platform on the moon of endor about letting go of his hate. So in a way both padme and luke. Mother and son were telling anakin to come back and that it wasnt to late

Bruh, that was so brutal, straight cut that guy in half. I love it.
I like how his mask, especially the in the eyes, is generally the same throughout most appearances but in moments of intense anger or sadness they subtly change somewhat to convey how intense the emotions are.
These are some top notch comics, wrapping up the stories of so many prequel side characters.

Haven’t read the comics but I just can’t get over that Dormé is in it when she died of Sams’ attack in the opening scene of AOTC...
Cordé died not Dormé I think they actually used the handmaidens to double each other in the movie and even for Natalie too.

I’d really like a what if story in which Vader turns back to the light by seeing these things and feeling his children through the force, there was that one comic where Vader has a vision of him turning the crystal green, going back to palpatine and killing him. Then returning to obiwan, I’d like to see that story in full
I'm sure I'm the last one who has come to this conclusion, but I think I know where Vader is going with this:
I think he wants to scan Padme's body in order to confirm that she was no longer pregnant at the time of her death.
Just imagine if Vader said he had to see his wife when he opened the tomb doors after the handmaiden asked if he was done

I like it as it rounds out his story more... The moves kinda leave a gap in the time from one to another... It would be cool if someone made a movie from all the issue's.
Is the other Vader comic still canon?
i expect in the next issue we'll see more of the man that anakin still is, and it'll be more of an issue of remembrance and fighting with the man that he is now.
Ya know... I wish Vader lived through Return of the Jedi so we could see a real redemption of him as Anakin.

i expect it's all a trap, and once he enters, it'll explode with him in it, either supposedly killing him or entombing him in that rubble forever, of course, he won't be trapped in it for more than a few minutes or seconds before he force pushes his way out of it.

Maybe its just me but as you cover this story Vader just comes off to powerful like ... he is unbeatable, and hence why I am listening to a story where he will never lose, can't lose and such. A journey in the mind, sure but ... I don't know, ugh/
