Fatty Boom Boom next. Keep in mind these are 100% committed performance artists. They are also really talented musicians, but the art/shock value comes first. I'm pretty sure they are actually sociopaths as well.
I'm German, but grew up in South Africa, so these guys are from where I grew up and I heard them 13 years ago and I thought they were a joke. Never expected them to get famous haha. I saw them live in Scotland though and they were great.
Brad's best expression yet and he held it for the whole first half. Awesome. I would have never thought I'd see a Die Antwoord reaction from you guys but it makes perfect sense now. When you're rocking them in public, you sometimes have to look around to make sure no one sees you. I stumbled upon them 3 years ago and at first I looked just like Brad. 10 minutes later I'm humming and soft singing that song,10 minutes after that, I'm watching it again and checking out their other stuff. You're not going to be able to get that song out of your head. Stay cool guys. Y'all helped make it a great year. Y'all are about to have a blast with this baby, I'm so happy for y'all. Damn...long... sorry 🤘😛🤘
I like die antwoord, seen them live before a Tool concert, and they were the highlight of the night. The whole grass field was shaking like a earthquake.
There is something about this band. They find a hook and repeat it to death, but they are fun, and more than a little naughty. And that girl ... everyone's guilty crush.
I could not help but rub my hands in glee when I saw you were reacting to this. Die Antwoord always set out to shock. Made some great tunes in the process. Yes they were in Chappie. Some of their songs were used in the soundtrack too.
I've loved this group since first hearing them about ten or 15 years ago. So crazy talented, so crazy weird, such great beats and their I don't give a f**k attitude is awesome. They work hard for their live performances. Please react to more Die Antwoord
They were asked to support Lady Gaga on tour and they took offence saying they headline and don’t support. They made the track Fatty Boom Boom, which is almost iconic (and totally awesome) that really disses Lady Gaga 😂 It’s played about 100 times in the video game Far Cry: New Dawn.
The "Fatty Boom Boom" video is equal parts: surrealism, rapid-eye nightmare vision, tribalist ritual, and low budget horror film. IOW, it's a must-see. 🤓
Been waiting for someone to be brave enough to do a Die Antwoord reaction. Now we need you to listen to Baby's on Fire, Cookie Thumper, and Gucci Coochie.
always hilarious to see reactions to Die Antwoord from those who have never heard of them or seen them...bit of shock value for sure but the songs are catchy
hahahha...amazingly beautiful how she's enjoying it and he is like _why am I looking at this!?_ ...Die Antwoord; you love it or hate it, there are no middle terms 🤩
They are from Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. Having traveled down there three years ago, I can say that i'm not shocked they are from such an odd place. Apartheid policies ruled South African politics from 1948 to 1994 and a bunch of crazy chaos after that up until today, Die Antwoord seem to embody all of that chaos. They flip between English and Afrikaans in a lot of their tracks. I read somewhere that they left Los Angeles and moved back to South Africa because everything was too clean and settled in America or something to that effect. Strangely i'm not a big fan but find them interesting enough to know that much about them. But one thing I know is that South Africa had an interesting punk rock and artistic indie music scene through the 1970s and 1980s, Apartheid censors and policies prevented a lot of that from reaching beyond the country's borders. I met the guitarist from the band Suck while I was there, he owns a brewery now. They were big in SA in the early 70s but he said they were constantly threatened by the police and the military so they called it quits. Suck recorded one record and EMI Records in England was interested in putting it out but they split. Another good band was punk band Wild Youth of out Durban in the late 70s. They had the same problem, conservative Apartheid censors and problems with police. National Wake out of Johannesburg were another, they were a mixed-race band which wasn't really allowed under Apartheid.
I look forward to hearing “Welcome to our channel” more than the reactions sometimes. That being said, I totally dig Die (Dee) Anrwoord. Love them. Just totally nuts trying to describe what’s going on.
These guys make me both proud and ashamed to be South African haha. The name, pronounced "dee" antword, means "the answer" in Afrikaans. Would love you guys to do "Enter the ninja", "Fatty Boom Boom" and "Evil Boy"
They have a stage persona that’s totally different than rl. The eye lenses, messed up makeup all comes off. I’ve heard she’s a sweetie. But I’ve also seen em being pretty rotten. Still catchy stuff. Now I wanna hear a little more before I go back to my regularly scheduled day, lol!!!
So many videos to catch up on, so searching before offering suggestions. Couldn't believe it when "Antwoord" got a hit. :-) Still regret missing their Toronto show several years ago. They performed this on David Letterman, search for it "Die Antwoord - I Fink U Freeky (Live on Letterman)". So good!!
I wish that Ninja and Yolandi weren't such awful humans in real life, because Die Antwoord's music is AMAZING. I recommend checking out "Banana Brain" and "Fatty Boom Boom"
Ninja and Yolandi are married... and they STARRED in the movie District 9 Oh theyre South African and speak in multiple slang languages from that country.
They always get that same reaction. Yes the videos are exceptionally weird but the music itself is catchy as hell. Other really good tracks are "Fatty Boom Boom","Baby's on Fire",& "Cookie Thumper"
Impressed you took this on. A lot of performance art involved. They kind of remind me of what you see in post apocalypse films. Not my thing really but a group I check on periodically to see what they are up to.
Published Jun 30, 2022 Danny Brown has accused Die Antwoord's Ninja - who's been accused of assault several times previously -of sexually assaulting him at a party in Paris. In 2019, Australian musician Zheani Sparkes and Italian singer Dionna Dal Monte both accused Ninja of sexual assault. That same year, Die Antwoord were dropped from several music festivals after footage surfaced of the duo allegedly shouting homophobic slurs and physically attacking Hercules and Love Affair's Andy Butler.

Die Antwoord having exactly the usual effect - a mixture of disgust and fascination. Brad's face!!!!
There's probably a German word for that exact effect. Or maybe the French: macabre?
Lmao i was dying watching his face

Their two faces pretty much sum up just about every reaction of anyone that hears it for the first time 😂
I've seen them twice live and always a good time!! They have SO many other good songs too- they're definitely .. unique
You have got to do more Die Antwoord! It is mental!
These guys are so weird but something kinda catchy about them too 🤣
So weird. Much sexual assault, child slave / trafficking, racism, homophobia and the list goes on. A pair of tools really.
@@roundroundhere711 yeah I don't know all that. I know this song, and chappie.
