Alot of her videos and lyrics have hit me hard. Made me realize that being down on yourself and being depressed is part of my personality. I was diagnosed with depression 15 years ago and am still dealing with.

I think Billie represents Gen Z well. Gen Z is crazy mature (the most of us) for our ages and scarily aware of the world for only being teenagers. She also kind of goes against the grain and is not afraid to break genre boundaries.

I totally agree. I think our heightened awareness comes from being old enough to really witness and understand all the shit happening in the world. As we’re observing and trying to learn how to “adult” we’re noticing all the adult immature bullshit thats happening and it’s consequences. It’s especially impactful to us because we realize that as we grow, we have a responsibility to ourselves to care about people/the world and try to be a positive influence in any small way we can. I think it’s also true that our generation is one of the saddest and most depressed because we share a sense of personal and global hopelessness. So much in the world seems to be getting worse, and the older generations constantly invalidate our opinions and ideas purely on the basis of age. That, in conjunction with the way social interaction has been altered by the overwhelming infiltration of media, has led to lower self esteem and avoidance. Going back to this video, I think that Billie is right on the bottom edge of this generation line. Many of the feelings and experiences that she talks about in interviews and in her music are so relatable and wide reaching for that reason. However, I think her youth is helping her not to fall completely into cynicism and keep pushing through/ keep growing. It’s pretty damn inspirational and like Bill said, I think we can all learn something from her youthful wisdom.
I'm an X that gave birth to a Z. This Generation may save us because, We were unable to do so for ourselves. This girl is helping me speak up from my insight out ♡
i love all music on the inside your gen gives me hope. I'm 27 and most of my gen wasn't like this. I was crazy nature insane self aware and of the world and an old soul. it's funny how much I relate to Billie. my gen is all far left for the most part and brain-dead.
yeah being on the verge of gen z and milennials I can see that. We all are born into the world of tech where everything is literally at our finger tips. everything. illegal shit, world news, bullying, best friends, relationships. that's why most of us are so much more mature than other gens.

At some point you should look into stanning Lorde. My all time favorite, fell in love with her heart before her music. She has amazing lyrics and is very well spoken and down to earth.
