“Wish you were gay” is part of an ongoing debate- my two cents as a gay man is that She is obviously not asking for a “Gay Best Friend” or fetishizing a sexuality, she’s just saying that she wished that there was a clear reason X guy doesn’t like her. If he was gay, she could at least know that it was never anything on her part- if X is straight, she feels like there has to be something wrong with her for her affections to be unrequited.
That's a far more eloquent way of wording how it hit me, too! wishing for an excuse to dismiss the disconnect, and then admitting she's just being selfish (or unreasonable). Thank you so much! Your two cents is worth so much more here! I hope you enjoyed the video!

it's an interview with just Finneas, and basically he states that he loves helping Billie with her music, he even says he prefers to be less known, that way he can go about his life without everyone bothering him all day, or having to go with bodyguards everywhere.... Tbh, for me, I don't get people that say he's underrated...
Finneas has alot of success... believe it or not he is credited on every song billie has put out, and as far as I know he also started producing for other artists, I can't remember for who right now, but he's getting work for his own, so... you guys saying he's underrated first of all, makes Billie look bad for no reason, it's like you're saying only Billie is profiting from their success...

tbh, I don't think you're "trying to stan Billie Eilish" anymore, you already do XD I never know whether or not she has actually experienced some of these because she has said that you don't necessarily have to go through something to understand it and write about it, but at the same time, it just shows how intelligent she is to understand things on such a level that she hasn't experienced (or maybe she has experienced everything they write about and just doesn't want people to know that). Either way, I've never heard any of her songs and thought "yea, you don't get it enough to make a song about it".. it's always "fuck, same" haha!

One of my new favorite pastimes is watching other people find Billie Eilish. I think it was your first TTS where you were like, "She's like 16. She is to young for this. What happened to her?" I was screaming at my phone, "She has Tourette Syndrome and all comorbidities that go with it!" You should see/hear some of the things our 11 year old daughter says. She is completely brilliant and has more strength and character than I ever had... much less at this age. She has been crawling out of the darkness for a year and while she can see the light, she is sceptical of it.
Billie has been a huge inspiration for her. She gives a musical representation of some really dark shit, which we then use to have some really hard but important conversations.
You should see me in a crown has become our daughter's battle cry, when stuff goes south.
Remember, she's 11 and she stans Billie Eilish, HARD.

Most people who listen to her music for the first time for RUclips just dismiss it and say “it’s just not good”, but they don’t pay attention to the meaning behind the lyrics or who Billie is.

Oh hell yeah. I woke up late because I went to bed at 4 last night/this morning (which I don't normally do). 4 of my favorite youtubers uploaded and now I get to watch more TTS Billie Eilish
Listen before I go and I love you are connected, they're next to each other in her album with 'goodbye' after it. She said she wanted the album to include a sentence, so it says 'listen before I go, I love you, goodbye'. If you listen to them in sequence it puts a whole new perspective on the song. I personally think that Listen before I go is the perspective of someone suicidal, whilst I love you is from the perspective of someone after they found out about the untimely death of this person; hence why it starts with 'it's not true' and there are lines such as 'what the hell did I do?', 'crying isn't like you', and mostly 'The smile that you gave me even when you felt like dying'. She and Finneas are seriously such amazing artists, they know exactly how to convey what they intend to and it's such an admirable talent to have.
