@@wst34damn that's rough. My friend got spoiled with Persona 4 and he refuse to play it. I understand though. I got spoiled with Final Fantasy X Ending and I still feel bad about it. Haven't played it since.
If your really enjoying the ost that much you should listen to "Color your night" its only 1 minute long because they haven't shown the full versions of the ost but its one of the completely new tracks instead of remakes of the older music and its by far my favorite.

about the school thing, ever since Persona 3, the Persona series has had 2 core gameplay styles. for most of the time, you're a student, working on your Academics, Courage, and Charm. you go to school, hang out with friends, buy equipment, watch movies, etc. on the other hand, you enter the Dark Hour. you make your way through Tartarus (this game's big dungeon), fighting shadows, improving characters, and slowly making your way to the top of Tartarus. I won't give too much. the game will explain the rest

Love the hype you have as a brand new persona fan! The fact that persona 3 is Gonna be you re first one is very special. My personal favorite Game is p5 royal and second place would be persona 3 fes. Fes though is very old and the grapichs and frame rate really bring it down. But now that p3 has the same production as p5 royal… Idk man this might be my favorite! You should react to Atlus other games openings like soul hackers 1-2, shin megami Tensei series (which created persona but persona became its own thing by the third game) and Catherine +Catherine full body.
Also if you want since it’s 2 hours there’s a video by good vibes gaming called The complete history of shin megami tensei which explains some things about the games including persona without any spoilers.

To give you the most spoiler free answer. STREGA are a group of persona users who actaully LIKE the dark hour unlike our main group which wants it banished, the reason they like the dark hour regardless of its dangers is because it lets them make easy money, they basically act as hitmen but kill people's shadows in the dark hour instead of in real time, which kills them anyway, as youve seen their victims are pretty much powerless against them
so naturally the 2 cross swords because their goals are completely different
the members of STREGA are also artificial persona users who did not awaken their personas naturally and have to take drugs to keep their own personas from going rouge, i wont go into further detail then that because then we get into spoiler territory
P3RE used unreal engine. P5 uses an engine made specifically for the game. Basically Catherine was their test game with the new engine, which they used for P5. Idk why they decided to change to Unreal, after spending so much time making the persona engine, but it could be cuz the team working on P5 Royal, P3RE, and P6 are mostly newcomers. The old ppl who made P3-5 left after P5 to make a different game. So for ease of access they likely jumped to Unreal cuz it would create good results AND be easier to use.

From what I know, the slapshing into water, it's supposed to represent baptism. Persona 3 takes heavy inspirstion from Greko-Roman culture and anything heavily associated with it, like Ancient Egytian (due to Hellenic Egypt) and Christianity.
