Got the FSC a few months ago & besides the on-board effects & acoustically it sounds marvelous the beauty of this guitar is stunning, I got the tobacco Sunburst & it's a beautiful instrument..I have to force myself to put it down just to admire it's beauty...I'm smitten with her & it fits my embrace perfectly thank you Yamaha 💋❤ !!!!
I tried one of the non- cutaway versions and as well as the beautiful sound effect, it had an incredibly playable neck and fretboard (rare for Yamaha).
I had a Yamaha Fgx 800 c And loved the sound it put out … I ultimately sold it and bought a MartinDx Johnny Cash as I was blinded by the Martin name and the iconic black looks. Imho the Yamaha was a far superior sound . This video is making me rethink my decision. I’ll be checking one of these out in the very near future. Thx for the video!
I had 2 Hong Kong guitars from Yamaha, one classical and one a dreadnaught. The FG300 was sprayed inside with coating, and sounded good for a ply top ply back and sides guitar circa 1970. It mellowed with age, sounding better than ever by the end of the 2000s. I often wonder what it might have sounded like had the wood not been sprayed with that shiny seal? Why did they do that? All that said, it was a bulletproof guitar, sturdy thing for sure. I tuned it up and gave it to a friend as a starter guitar in 2009 or so.. That built-in pickup will be something i predict we'll see more of from many builders.. That's like a Tonewood, but built-in at the factory. Cool for camping, but bring batteries.
There's an old adage in woodworking that whatever you do to one side of a board, you do the same thing to the other side. So, if you finish one side of a board, you should also finish the other. This makes it much more stable. However, the conventional wisdom in guitar making is that by leaving the inside of the guitar unfinished you get better tone. I am not 100% sure this is true, because the unfinished wood gets filled with dust and whatnot. I would love to take two identical guitars, lightly finish the inside of one and leave the other unfinished, and see what happens over a period of 20 years or so.
I also have a Tacoma dreadnought, that wasn't finished inside, and about 1/4 of the finish has popped off the outside, in chunks over the years. Chased the truss rod until it was gone, and now my saddle is too. Time to take the bridge off now. Dang peeling POS sounds awesome with mellow tone.
@@TavisAllen no, not being rhetorical. I’ve been really impressed with Yamaha. I prefer a 000 body style but Yamaha makes such nice products, I need to add one to my collection
@@anthonyb2334 (Apologies if you know this already.) The closest models would be the parlor-size CSF3M (solid mahogany back/sides), CSF1M (laminated m b/s), or the CSF-TA (CSF1M body.)
I'm totally blind, so I'm very picky about the sound of my guitars. I've got a very nice martin d18 that is amazing. However, the idea of having built in affects is very cool. I wonder what some medium gage Ilixir strings would sound like on one of those guitars. If I had the money, I'd buy one of those guitars. They sound like very nice guitars that would be very good if you went on a short vacation or camping trip in the summer. Very nice sound all around. Maybe not as much bass as I usually like, but very good all the same.
All the Yamaha acoustics I`ve seen were excellent. One my friend had came from an old house. A giant rat had made a huge hole to get past the strings to make a home inside it. But it played perfectly.
They should use that technology for an acoustic bass as everybody knows acoustic basses suck. I have the same guitar you are demonstrating and the reverb/chorus effect actually make the guitar louder....I think they could use this technology to make an acoustic bass sound louder.
Thank you so much for these videos. I look forward to you and Quinton weekly! Music Villa in Boseman is now on my bucket list!

My dad bought an FG200 in 1972. Still has it today. Sounds phenomenally!!!
I have a FS-TA and love it. I also have 2 other Yamaha's so I guess I'm hooked.

Wow,what an eye opener...I am,or have been,a Gibson or Martin snob...perhaps I need to be more open to new ides...huh?
Me too. Yep I’ve been a snob but have always liked Yamaha but own martins.
Assuming you're not being rhetorical, yes you do! Yamaha's full line of acoustic guitars is vast, and covers nearly all use cases and budgets.

I love that it's so intelligent to put judt the base of effect we need.🙏👍😏
Yamaha is my favorite acoustic I also own a Martin and ovation
Great video, and very eye opening. Are these FS bodies the same size as the FS800 series? I’m a 000 or 00 guy but these sound great.
I own many guitars, my Yamaha Acoustics are among the best. Love those guitars. How much are these?

@@baneverything5580thank for the warning I’ll make sure to not leave my guitars out for I do have roaches and maybe a few rats who knows
I do like a little hidden Rush riffs
Thanks for noticing - nothing like a little honeydew and milk of paradise to get ya going ;)

What currently is the largest Transacoustic model being offered?
FG TA
Dreadnought and your English is fine.
Little perry ferrell., Pets?
We'll make great ones :) I've loved that progression from the first time I heard the song . . .

I love my Yamaha FGX 800c. Great instrument.
I like 9 volt battery in my guitar, does anyone know how the inline AAA. Or double A. Last or doesn’t work at all. Maybe doesn’t matter?
2 AA batteries power these. I get about 8-10 hours on 2 AA"s
I think I heard Hemispheres music.
bread👍

I'm very much not a fan of that hat and it stops me wanting to watch your videos.
