The fact that this show managed to even make it onto Netflix instead of being permanently deleted from streaming services like Close Enough, Infinity Train and Final Space is a miracle in of itself.
Dude. Kaiser my man. THANK YOU for turning me on to this show. I stopped your video when you said to, and went and watched it over the course of a week with my wife. A week later and I'm still contemplating the meaning and themes behind everything I just watched. There are so many aspects to this show that I've just never experienced in sci-fi entertainment, and it was done so flawlessly. As a side-note in case you read this, I am thoroughly enjoying the GTFS commentary show. Never watched GT. Feels like the best way to experience it without having to actually watch it. Thank you for your sacrifice.
Thank you for this video Kaiser. Never heard of this show before. I stopped this when you said skip and go watch it, if TFS says watch something it must be good. I watched the whole season in one sitting. I was hooked into the world holy shit it was amazing
This is an incredible show, easily one of the best from last year. I hope Netflix will run with it - clearly, HBO didn’t care that it had an incredible project on its hands.
Looks very Nausicaa inspired, which means I'm absolutely checking it out, Nausicaa is easily top 3 Ghibli/Miyazaki films for me and they are all masterpieces.
Really hoping it gets a physical release (at least the soundtrack is getting a release on vinyl apparently) and possibly even more so I’m hoping they sell an art book for the series
Honestly, I want to love this show. I watched up to episode 5 and loved every minute of it, but the cracks began to show for me. And I think it just crashes and burns and doesn't know how to stick the landing. It is a great experience, one that you should have for yourself, and maybe you'll get more out of it than I did. But the ending is a bitter thorn in my side every time I think of this show.
scavengers reign is the best show Ive watched in years. i remember seeing the short and all of the hype behind people begging for it to come to fruition, and they did not disappoint in the story years later. the show has survived unlikely circumstances in the past, and im hoping it will find more support at netflix. if you havent seen it, its a rare thing: good world-building and characters grounded emotionally and personally, despite the mindboggling environment theyre trying to survive in. share it with everyone!! its incredible
"narrated by Werner.... OH JESUS NO! KILL IT WITH FIRE!" Also, why did you just make an entire 7+ minute video where you just kept saying Titmouse over and over and over again, jeez. (titmouse makes some truly incredible art)
Saw this on your Retrospective. Thank you again for the recommend, this is my show of the year! Warner continues to make the stupidest decisions with their productions
Okay. Just finished watching the first episode. Here are my thoughts. Holy shit! This is amazing! WTF! And finally, this is not for kids. There's some messed up stuff just in the first episode and I'm hooked.
Also the acting! I was constantly surprised at the quality of the performances of pretty much every character in the show. I didn't expect to be super invested in the characters because it felt early on that the main focus of the show was going to be its environment and animation, but the writing and performances pulled me in and hit me hard at times, good stuff
I remember watching the oroginal test animation, and the shock i got when i starting seeing this from this... Then finding out it WAS from the same people Also, i LOVE a show that makes me want to get answers, and not only doesnt ass pull them but makes the case that yes, answers are there, or there is a good reason to find out. World building at its finest
I liked the show well enough but didn't finish it. My problem was I never understood how the characters figured out any of the survival techniques. In episode one of the characters crawls inside of an animal to use it's body for electricity if ai remember correctly. Well how the hell did he come to a conclusion like that, is crawling inside animals in search of electricity just something he always did? Or the episode where they hide inside the egg chamber of another animal to escape a storm. Those decisions seem completely illogical given the amount of information I had which I assume was the same as the characters. I was hoping for something closer to the Hatchet where I can see the characters responding to the environmental challenges in clever ways. Instead most of their decisions felt like they were the descendents of the crash survivors using the accumulated knowledge of many generations.
I can tell Kaiser has never seen Made in Abyss because he's hyping up the poor man's Made in Abyss while being painfully aware of the difference in quality.
I have seen Made in Abyss. They're similar concepts, but very different approaches. I prefer Scaveneger's Reign to Made in Abyss, though I've enjoyed both. I *highly* disagree that Scavenger's Reign is a "poor man's" anything and this apparent difference in quality doesn't exist, in my eyes.
It's a very different style. Not a "poor man's" Made in abyss. You're probably used to anime, which has very different style. But it also take away realism. Only watched 4 episodes but because it's not anime, and has a much more realistic style of portraying humans, it feels way more unsettling and realistic to me. As unsettling as it is to me, it's also beautiful and I just watched 4 episodes in a row. And usually i never watch more than one episode a day if anything. So thanks for the tip Kaiser.
This gives “I genuinely really fucking love this shit, I gain nothing but pleasure from knowing others enjoy this as much as I do” vibes.
Sounds like the Ween of animation. ❤

Aww... Final Space is gone!?
100% agree that this was a highlight of 2023. Fingers crossed that it can pull a Star Trek Prodigy and get a second season out of Netflix.

"kaiser, give the command"
"Lanny give the command"
"Get em"
Thanks for recommending the show! I was both intrigued and disturbed when watching this show, it was one hell of a ride!
YES!!!!! Scavenger's Reign is incredibly awesome.
Thank you for this video Kaiser. Never heard of this show before. I stopped this when you said skip and go watch it, if TFS says watch something it must be good. I watched the whole season in one sitting. I was hooked into the world holy shit it was amazing
I've been raving about this show for months and was thrilled to be able to binge this with my family. They loved it just like I thought it would.
Single handedly, one of my favorite shows ever. I watched it because of Kaisers list videos, and I wholeheartedly agree with him on every point.
Love this show! Time for a rewatch.
I watched this on Max. It is spectacular. Hoping Netflix can give it the visibility it deserves.
Just finished watching the first episode and YES! WATCH THIS, PLEASE!
Just not with your kids. Definitely made for adults.
No nudity, or anything like that. Just messed up and a fair amount of bad words.
I watched it twice already. It was beautifully and brilliantly done... I want a Season 2
This is an incredible show, easily one of the best from last year. I hope Netflix will run with it - clearly, HBO didn’t care that it had an incredible project on its hands.
I loved this show so much. I laughed, I cried, I was on the edge of my seat. It was simply incredible. Best show contender❤
This reminds me ALOT of Made in Abyss. Exploring a crazy brutal alien like world.
Looks very Nausicaa inspired, which means I'm absolutely checking it out, Nausicaa is easily top 3 Ghibli/Miyazaki films for me and they are all masterpieces.
Watch it watch it watch it watch it
EVERYBODY WATCH IT. FORCE YOUR FRIENDS TO WATCH IT.
I just finished it tonight and it was amazing, I do feel very sorry for Sam.

I'm pissed there's no Blue ray release.
Really hoping it gets a physical release (at least the soundtrack is getting a release on vinyl apparently) and possibly even more so I’m hoping they sell an art book for the series
This show is a fucking _masterpiece_
Everyone needs to watch this
I’ll fuckin rewatch it a 4th time Dangit!

Glad I listened to Scott and watched this show before this segment

I guess I'll have to wait... Not available in my country 😢
Not available is Australia! I'm gutted.
Scavenger's Reign is one of the best pieces of animations I've ever seen. It's truly a work of *art*. Highly recommend it!
the art style makes me think of Siames and their music videos
I need to finish this. Loved what I saw though.
Okay Kaiser, I'll listen and give it a watch
Wait I keep refreshing my Netflix. Is it only available for US Netflix?! 😭
I'm frm Belize damn it
Ha, I legit just started watching it. Lots of people said to watch it. It's pretty good so far.
Oh, it's available on a site I actually use. Well, there you go.
I'll give it a shot
Welp, guess I'll go watch it. I'm a big Moebius fan, so this looks very much like my jam.
1:44 Tit Mouse? The German Flash creator? The Legend responsible for Frank's Adventure? Good on him!
"narrated by Werner.... OH JESUS NO! KILL IT WITH FIRE!"
Also, why did you just make an entire 7+ minute video where you just kept saying Titmouse over and over and over again, jeez.

It took me 6 months to finally get around to it but I did ❤

💜♥️💜
Great show. Please watch and recommend to anyone. I'd love it if Netflix picked it up for another season!
Edit: spelling
Finally finished watching the show so I can watch this video
paused a minute into this video and watched the entire show, absolute masterpiece of a show, thank you
Same! I usually don’t follow a call to action such as this but I’m glad I did.
Gonna binge this as soon as my last assignment for the semester is done. Oh god it's 2:30am
I feel like scavangers reigns main problem is its not getting enough reach, which makes it super sad 😩
Wild
Just started watching it and gotta say I am not disappointed
I actually liked this show a lot
It was a good show, but I have mixed feelings about the sequel hook, as it feels rather unnecessary.
I watched it. It was EXCELLENT! Getting REAL tired of great shows getting slept on by the masses. It really sucks.
1:30
youknow i have sh*t to do today/ this weekend *right* ?
ffs
you're lucky i treasure your opinion.
Bobby Hill!!! Thats it!!
Awesome
Good video

you lost me at "groosome death"
yoooo lets goo
OK. I will skip this video and eventually watch it. Thanks.
Ah Titmouse... The Legend of Vox Machina is also one of theirs.

I have to disagree with the Azi part. She comes off as a know it all
