My favorite dev tidbit about this game is that riki originally had the lowest HP in the game, but then one day they decided to max it out just because and everyone on the team thought it was really funny so they kept it
My biggest advice for 2 is don't feel afraid to ask around for questions, the games combat is VERY poorly explained due to rushed development and most of their team being dragged away for Breath of the Wild, but EXTREMELY satisfying once you get deep into it. Other advice is try not to rush through it, XC2 in particular is a game that greatly benefits from taking your time and going through it slowly, just take it all in at a decent pace and you'll enjoy it much more than if you JUST rush the story.
Just want to double down on this. XC2 has my favourite combat system in any JRPG, ever, but it's complex and convoluted on the surface (despite flowing butter-smooth once you get it), and the tutorials are unforgivably horrible - the biggest flaw by far in a game that's already riddled with flaws. If I remember right, they're actually actively wrong about some of the mechanics. Doing some out-of-game research (I second chuggaaconroy as entry-level and Enel for deeper stuff) is unfortunately basically required to be able to understand how the game wants you to play it, though once you do it's an incredibly rewarding experience. Like almost everything about XC2, it's an all-time masterpiece dragged down by really massive issues.
i have never upgraded Poppi because i dont know how her upgrade system work. i mean yeah could spend the time look up at the internet to understand how it works and spend more time playing its minigame OR i could just simply use Morag
My very favorite video game series right here, really glad you enjoyed it. This game could’ve very easily been a one off cult classic game, but thanks to passionate fans, it got a North American release propelling it to become a full blown franchise! I hope you continue with the series. 2 is a VERY flawed game with MANY questionable decisions in a lot of areas… but it remains my favorite game of all time. It’s pretty decisive so I’m curious to see how you’ll feel about it. 3 is fantastic too, with the DLC that just released being, in my opinion, absolutely top tier and the best this series has to offer.
My experience with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was a rollercoaster (no spoilers): Got halfway through the game, hated and dropped it. -> Watched someone else play past where I dropped. -> Saw a cutscene that made me feel like I'd regret not doing it myself. -> Finished my run and a NG+ run. XC2 has a lot of technical flaws and controversies, but somehow it's still my favorite one in the series. I recommend giving the story a 2nd viewing after you beat the game, 'cause I'm not the only one who's said the story is amazing the 2nd time around (not even including the DLC when I say that, but you should beat that too before the 2nd viewing).
I quit the game right before the Temperentia boss fight. the only reason I picked it back up, was because I got on a 10 hour long flight and needed something to do. Didn't look back after that. I tried to 100% the game, but xenoblade 3 came out when I got to 90-95% ish
I enjoyed my second playthrough of XC2 (on NG+) way more than my first. I feel like a lot of the features and things you can do that're locked behind NG+ should've been available on a vanilla playthrough.
Xenoblade is a special gem. A game that by all accounts shouldn't have worked, but it successfully told an engaging story with gun gameplay. I honestly suggest looking into the writers previous works; Xenogears and Xenosaga.
This game has been in my backlog for years, as it's regarded one of the best JRPGs ever made by a lot of people, including some of my friends, and I could see how good Xenoblade music was even without playing the game. When the Switch remaster came out I actually bought it and... it sat on my shelf for years, until a couple months ago I decided to finally give it a shot. And it did absolutely live up to the hype, going in absolutely blind amplifying my experience. The entire series truly is some of the best games of all time.
I imagine he will enjoy Xeno2. As a kid you always have a brief moment where you wonder what it will be like to be bacteria to live on a human body. There is a lot to analyze when it comes to xenogears. Also the nopon drug lord side quest goes hard.
The first Xenoblade is my favourite game of all time, rivalled only by the third game. It really is a masterpiece, and while it's combat isn't as deep as X or 3's, it's still a fun time all around, and the joy of exploration, spending time with its characters, and embarking on the well-thought-out story is something I'll never forget. The fact that every late-game twist is constantly foreshadowed as early as the first three chapters goes to show that Monolith Soft thought everything through and genuinely cared about crafting a game that could stand the test of time (which evidentially, it does, as the remake proves). I was blown away by what it accomplished on the Wii's hardware, and the Switch version simply ironed out what few kinks it had. I also love that, despite getting sequels, the first game can still be enjoyed as a stand-alone, self-contained experience. Its story is so fulfilling and complete, that if a sequel ever fell short of its quality standards (*cough* Xenoblade 2 *cough*), I could simply disregard it as non-canon, as it has no bearing on the original's concluded narrative. Frankly, I didn't care how or even if Xenoblade 1 connected to past Xeno games, because it didn't actually matter, and wasn't required to enjoy the game on its own merits. Not every story needs to have a grand multiverse that demands you experience mediocre or bad products just so you can enjoy the "good" ones, and if it weren't for the third game course-correcting the series, I'd maintain that Xenoblade never should've become a "series" in the first place, especially when I'd much rather they create a new stand-alone story for each game, completely divorced from the world of the Bionis and Mechonis. It's why I was fine with Xenoblade X doing its own thing, because it wouldn't be stepping on the first game's toes. Monolith Soft might be my favourite game studio, and while I'd enjoyed past games like Baten Kaitos and Disaster: Day of Crisis, it was Xenoblade that really made me take note of them.
I really hope you enjoy Xenoblade 2 when you get around to playing it. It's my favorite of the Xenoblade trilogy and one of my top three favorite games of all time, and I had a lot of fun replaying it recently when making a video about it a few weeks back. I will say that the game doesn't leave the best first impression and its tutorials are notoriously bad, but the gameplay is super fun once you've figured out the loop and the story picks up and becomes really compelling not too long in in my opinion. Also big thank you to Deci for getting you the game
FYI Expert mode (as far as I’m aware) doesn’t necessarily make the game harder, it just makes it so that you can control your party members’ levels with whatever exp you currently have for them. Xenoblade 2 should be right up your alley (I’m not sure, obviously, but it’s a pretty safe bet). I remember you said that the main way that you like to get people to try things is by telling them about a character they might like. Yeah well this one dude in the game is basically a JoJo’s character; he is extremely good at being comic relief, he has a really interesting, mature character underneath that exterior that peaks through just enough so that he doesn’t seem edgy, and (most importantly) he is very big strong muscle man. Me and the homies all love Zeke von Genbu: Bringer of Chaos. Also I’m pretty sure that we would love a spoiler-cast if you’re up for it
I first played XC:DE because of a friends recommendation to play the original, and I will forever be grateful to him as this ended up becoming one of my favorite games of all time (maybe even my number 1 just because of the story). The incredibly likable cast with great dynamics between each other, the deep themes about purpose and revenge, the absolutely BALLER OST, the beautiful landscapes and creative setting. Man, I’ve got nothing but great things to say about this game.
Basically Fither summing up my thoughts about Xenoblade 1. Really solid RPG well worth playing even now and my personal favorite of the series, and as Fither said even if you go into this completely blind the challenge isn't unfair or annoying at any point. This is just a very well-crafted gem that's hold up over the ages, highly recommend people to give this game an honest shot.
Thank you for being chill about spoilers, as the difference in how Xeno fans and Persona fans often handle those is really prevalent. Got a friend going from Xeno to Persona recently (bro is playing all the personas in number order, including 1 and 2), and he was kinda shocked at how little spoiler protection Persona fans have under battle music on RUclips. Spoilers are generally considered a bigger deal in the Xeno community, and thank you for working with that.
Still my favourite game of all time, glad you enjoyed it. I leave a fun piece of Trivia that Riki having the highest base HP was due to the devs setting his HP to max for testing, but so many thought the idea of Riki being the best tank really funny, so they kept it
@@The_Pikaboi 100%. 2 was my first game, and I got to millick meadows before I decided to go back and do 1 first. Absolutely improves the effect of 3 and makes it's kinda stanky final moments much more interesting.
One thing to note about Expert Mode is that it's really a "hard mode". What it does is make it so you don't immediately gain exp outside of battle, instead any exp you earn from quests and discovering locations are stored in a pool of bonus which you can use to manually level up your characters, or even level them down It's mainly there for players who want to do all the side quests but without becoming over-leveled, which was an issue in the original release
YOOOOOOO, I remember putting the Xenoblade series for the games series that deserve more love. Please play the rest of the series, the second game is my favorite game ever. Also thank you Deci
I started xenoblade a year ago and now I’ve played the entire Klaus saga, playing x rn aswell as replaying each game in order to see all the content. It’s probably one of the best series I’ve ever gotten into and it’s definitely an amazing ride. Each game makes you rethink everything and I love it.
I hope everyone that's planning or already played Xenoblade 1 plays the whole series. This is legit one of the few game franchises that pays off playing all of it.
As someone who has beaten both xenogears and the Xenosaga Trilogy, I’d say gears is definitely worth the time investment and saga is at least worth trying
I highly recommend playing 2 and Torna the Golden Country. However I would look up some combat guides because 2’s combat can be a bit unintuitive due to the horrible tips and tutorials.
A newcomer with interest in Xenosaga?! 😮 I always want more Xenosaga content. Xenoblade X is another often overlooked one. That has the closest gameplay to XC1 and it improves it in many ways.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is by far my favorite. It's really just an MMORPG, but I've put about 450 hours into it and never got bored. I just played it last week and the servers are still up. I actually played online with some people on a Wii U exclusive game from 2015. Give it a shot!
big xenoblade fan here for xeno games you can keep going and really enjoy just blade but i highly reccomend going back and playing xenogears on the ps1 and then the xenosaga trilogy on ps2 they arnt necessary exactly to understand the xeno stories but they are monolithsofts, the company that makes xenoblade original series and you could say they are a greater series that xenoblade fits in, also they are also just really good games with the exception of maybe saga episode 2 and some parts of xenogears disc 2. if you just want to focus on the much more attainable blade games i would just go with the release order frankly for the numbered entries with 2, 2's dlc, the extra story in definitive edition, 3, 3-dlc with saving xenoblade X for if theres a port of it or just when you want a more sci-fi style expirience, hope this helps and you can enjoy the series just as much as me
Eyyyyyyyyyy, I've been a fan of the game when it was the only Xenoblade game, and I gotta say, I'm so happy that you enjoyed it. Its definitely one of the most intentionally made games I've ever seen, and while I know you didn't engage in side content, there are a lot of sidequests that have different ends which trigger different quests to pop up (and you get to see these endings based on what you see in visions), every named NPC has relationships with other named NPCs, and they also have a list of tradable items meaning that effectively every NPC in the game is a kind of shop, and the items for trade change whenever they move locations like during a quest or when moving to Colony 6, Colony 6 is a smorgasbord of collecting materials, inviting people to join, and just kinda making a new melting pot city. Its really cool! The affinity system is super strict, even though I've played the game like 4 times now, the heart to hearts are always what I finish last. The game is super cool and has all kinds of different party synergies and strategies that works out great. But of course, the story and the pacing is my favorite part, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Now to give you some direction on what games to play next (these aren't in order, these are just to give you information) Xenoblade 2 is my favorite game of all time, but it has a slow start. It DOES get better, but in the meantime, remember to upkeep your gacha blades, pay attention to how combos work, and always aim to Fusion Combo, and you should be good. It is EXTREMELY controversial for the same reasons that some Persona games are controversial, but I hope you enjoy your time with it. Again, its my favorite game of all time. It ALSO has a DLC story expansion called Torna the Golden Country which is basically its own game, but you don't need to worry about that until after XC2 credits roll (There are people who will tell you to play it between like Chapter 7 and 8 of the story. Ignore them. Its a cool machete order but its a little convoluted haha) Xenoblade Future Connected is an epilogue story that is attached to Definitive Edition on Switch. If you are interested in playing that, give it a shot, the new area is pretty fun, but it is mostly an afterthought Xenoblade X is a spiritual successor to Xenoblade 1 if you enjoy that combat system, it just takes it to 100. Its kinda a nutso broken game if you know what you're doing, but a more difficult XC1 if you don't. Its pretty alright, but its mostly known for the world and the mecha combat than it is the story (for good reason) Xenoblade 3 and its own DLC expansion Future Redeemed should be played after XC2. Just trust me on this. Xenosaga is a weird one. The games are moderately expensive to OH GOD WHY IS THIS $300 expensive, and save data does carry through between games, which is worth noting. These games (specifically the first 2) are much slower, kinda sloggy sci-fi turn based JRPGs (they were designed story first, then gameplay wheras Xenoblade was designed mostly with gameplay first), but they are mechanically competent and are becoming more and more important to the overall series. There's even minor references to Xenosaga in XC2 and XC3, but its not required playing to enjoy those games on their own merits. The point is, its not as fluid as say, the PS2 Atlus titles, but they are still good and among my favorites. The only other thing worth mentioning is that Xenosaga as a series is actually 8 installments long, but of those as an English player, you really only need to worry about the PS2 trilogy, the Flash Animation, and the Mobile Phone game that has a translated script online. Xenogears is now becoming more and more like the awkward child of the series, because its ideas are being reused but never being called back to. Its a long PSX JRPG as you said, but its probably one of the better ones. The combat is like a hybrid between a JRPG and a 2D fighter, and the story is super complex. Its on you whether you wanna play it, but Its probably my 3rd favorite in the entire series, as someone who likes old school RPGs. Its unlike any other Square game, in a good way
I guess a warning If you’re checking out future games is that none of them play like each other. The closest games gameplay wise are 1 and X, and even then theres a BUNCH separating them. Just give each game a fair shot when you get to them. Also shoutouts to best girl Melia for the insane amount of trauma and bullshit she regularly has to deal with.
For XC2, I recommend watching this one video from Chuggaaconroy that he did when he was doing his let’s play of it. It’s a spoiler free tutorial/guide/tips and tricks video called something along the lines of ‘What I wish I knew before playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2’ It’s really a great game, but with bad tutorials.
I totally relate to being interested in Xenoblade but, putting it off for awhile. This was around the Wii U/3ds era, so I could bought it for 20 bucks on the Wii U. I ended up playing 1 when it came to switch, and dropped it after 4 hours. A year later but when I picked it up again and absolutely loved it. Thank you Deci, you're the goat.
No matter how much traction this series gets it will ALWAYS be underrated, that's genuinely just how good all the game's stories are and even if one game doesn't speak to you much the other ones will. Like personally xc1 didn't really reach to me emotionally, however despite that I can definitely say it's an amazing game. Xc2 spoke to me the most and never ceases to hit me in the feels in every way possible. And Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is absolutely phenomenally paced, and all characters are extremely fleshed out, and most side quests don't even feel like side quests they feel important to the world. Haven't played X or xenosaga, xenogears, but I've only heard good things and do want to check them out when possible.. To agree with a ton of other comments, Xc2 is extremely hard to get into due to very bad tutorials or lack thereof, but once you learn the combat a lot of people will say xc2 has the best combat in the series, don't be afraid to ask for help or tips, possibly even looking up some guides (chuggaconroy has some good guides on combat) but I wish you the best in continuing the series. It's worth the effort, xc2 highs are insanely high, but it also definitely has the lowest lows as well and nobody will disagree with that lol.
I played Xenoblade Chronicles back when it was still a Wii exclusive and OMG; everything about the game blew me away. Great soundtrack, outstanding battle mechanics, plot depth with good character development and the whole nine yards. I liked the music so much that I actually learned one of the songs on the piano for my own enjoyment--Into Deadlands, Fallen Arm map during daytime. My biggest surprise was how insanely huge the different area maps were; finding all the landmarks and fully mapping an area took hours and there was about 20 different areas if I remember correctly? Of course, mapping an entire area upon your first entry to area was not a smart idea because there would be that one section where monsters would be level 80+ while Shulk wasn't even level 20 and I was like, "Oh hell no!" In regards to Xenosaga Trilogy from PS2 era; my thoughts on those games are as follows: Episode 1 was spectacular. Episode 2 was a letdown; I finished the game and all the side-quests but had no desire to continue playing for the fun of it after doing everything but Episode 3 made a great recovery. I'm bummed that Xenosaga games don't have current gen HD ports/remasters and the only way to play it is through emulation; I regret selling my PS2 and Xenosaga games because I guess I thought it would someday be ported to PS4/PS5 and boy was I wrong. I am no kicking myself. If you get ahold of those games, don't give'em up; they are keepers.
Glad you enjoyed it, and hope to see further thoughts on the series. Honestly with the trilogy wrapping up I’ve been feeling weirdly emotional about this whole thing. What a ride it’s been. 2 is a beautiful hot mess of a game with so many interesting ideas and some of my favorite RPG gameplay and story concepts…ever, with a ton of heart and a lovely main cast but also a ton of jank and weird writing/pacing/design choices everywhere. 3 isn’t a perfect game but might actually be be of my favorite games of all time, and is one of a very short list of media that has actually made me cry.
YEAAAAAAAA XENOBLADE LETS GO The DLC for 3 just came out and it is SO satisfying. This is by far my favorite game series of all time, I hope you play the entire main trilogy eventually! Glad to hear you like Riki also, he's weirdly underrated for being so fucking funny (also, on the Mechonis portion, you could have bought weapons that can damage Mechon for any party member!)
God, it’s so good to see someone else getting into Xenoblade! Xenoblade 2 is actually one of my favourite games of all time, although unlike 1, it isn’t a really solid game but with some of the absolute best and worst of the series packed together. There’s also Xenoblade X as well, and obviously 3 after 2.
I wouldn't recommend playing ALL the xenogames just yet, but the xenoblade games are a good idea, and they've got lots of references to the other xenogames in the games too- also there's the smaller, side story games that are VERY important to the lore at times. So you might want to play those along with the main games they come with.
Im glad you enjoyed the game! The xenoblade series is one of my favorites so its always nice to see more people get into it. 2 is my personal favorite. Its rougher around the edges than both 1 and 3, but it has one of the most rewarding combat loops I've seen in a game. If you enjoyed the first game I heavily recommend giving 2 and its dlc a shot.
for a little more info on what riki is he's a jack of all trades you can built him in any way and it'll work he's an alright tank good ether attacker a good physical attack he's not the best at any of them but he can fit on any team comp also his 1 healing art makes him better than sharla lmao
I love Xenoblade Chronicles. I own it on both 3DS and Switch. My first game in the series was X, actually. But this one is one of my most favorite games ever, on like every front, especially story, along with another game by the same studio, Baten Kaitos. I'm not big into JRPGs, but Xenoblade just does everything so right. I have 2 and 3, as well, but I am just not clicking with 2 at all, so maybe I'll finish the series someday.
Knowing you, you will definitly enjoy xenoblade 2, honestly all the games are great and you get so much from all of them i truly love this series of games and it really is something special.
It makes me so excited to hear your interest in the Xeno series! Xenoblade 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, but the tutorials are complete garbage. I’d highly recommend anyone starting Xenoblade 2 or considering replaying it after dropping it to watch Chuggaaconroy’s “Everything I Wish I Knew Before Playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2” as the gameplay, especially the combat, is some of the best in any RPG but you wouldn’t know that just by reading the in-game tutorials
I knew it was only a matter of time before you played one of these. You want to play Xenoblade 2 next for sure. It is slow in the beginning for a few reasons, but most agree that it kicks up HARD. It's my favorite of the blade trilogy. The less you know about the game the better. X is my personal favorite Xenoblade game, though the main story isn't where the game shines. That actually goes to the sidequests which build the world.
Will you talk about Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition’s Future Connected? In a possible future Xenoblade spoiler video. Not to be confused with the recent Xenoblade 3’s Future Redeemed DLC.
You just played 1? Well... Play Future Connected, the XC1 bonus mode, and get ready for 2 and 3, they're even better in my opinion. 3, especially with its recent DLC, is my favorite game of all time. XC is probably my new favorite game series, and it overtook Persona.
Down the rabbit hole you go, pro tip: xenoblade 2 is much more enjoyable if you watch chuggaconroy's: "everything i wish i knew about xenoblade chronicles 2" video, its spoiler free and just serves to alleviate the notoriously bad tutorials.
My advice for you going into XC2 is that you should not feel ashamed of looking up a tutorial for combat because it is really poorly explained in the game. Once you get a good idea of how to play then it gets really good as XC2 has a way much more fun combat than the first. Also regarding voice acting of XC2. Push through even though the directing for it was horrible. If you want then you can download the JP patch like I did. Some people say that the weird deliveries does add some quirkiness to the EN dub, and I can agree with that sentiment and you may too.
The Xenoblade Chronicles is one of my favorite series of all time Xenoblade 3 is my favorite game of all time and Xenoblade 1 is in my top 5 and Xenoblade 2 is in my top 10 I am so glad you loved the game
It's always fun to watch someone fall down the rabbit hole of my favorite series ever made Xenoblade 2 is a very... unique game, but a bunch of the more heated complaints people had about it came from the fact that the game is very different from the first in tone and style and the fact that the first few hours frankly kinda suck gameplaywise, however thematically speaking it's very similar and the story and characters are fantastic and ultimately that's what really makes Xeno as a series stand out If you do end up playing Saga and Gears too, I'd recommend doing so before the DLC of the third game in order to receive the highest possible dose of kino from the conclusion of the series
this is my favorite game ever i'm really glad you enjoyed, i think xeno 2 is harder to get into but can be just as rewarding if you stick it out so i really hope you have a good experience with it as well
I think you're gonna love xc2, not gonna spoil, but playing 1 first adds so much as for the other xenos, def play 2 before some others as 2 has a lot more xeno DNA
This series man, if you dedicate yourself to it this series will pay off, 1 is my least favorite outta the numbered games... and it's atill in my top 5 games of all time, crazy high quality series, I hope you enjoy XC2 when ya get to it!
So, now you can play Xenoblade 2, or the epilogue "Future Connected" which is in the Definitive Edition. But I would recommend waiting until after being completely done with Xenoblade 2 and it's DLC, Torna: The Golden Country. I would recommend playing in release order: Xenoblade 1 > Xenoblade 2 > Torna: The Golden Country > Future Connected > Xenoblade 3 > Future Redeemed Xenoblade 2 is a great game but it has some weird choices which definitely have impact on enjoyment. It depends on how much the player themselves care about it though, like some character designs are very strange, some jokes are just weird, and gameplay choices are at times annoying (field skills). However, in the grand scheme of things, the combat is arguably the best in the series, the music is just as good as the rest of the series, and the story is very good as well with extremely good villains. (Honestly I like Torna more than the base game so that's something to look forward too as well.) @Fither
I actually don't mind the british voiceacting instead of american english despite I haven't played it. The reason why it has british voiceacting is that it was released in Europe for the Wii
Expert mode isn't really a difficulty setting, it's the ability to control your levels so you don't overlevel current enemies and lose out on SP and AP.
My favorite dev tidbit about this game is that riki originally had the lowest HP in the game, but then one day they decided to max it out just because and everyone on the team thought it was really funny so they kept it
Just proves that Heropon Riki bestest nopon!

Was definitely the right decision for his playstyle, it lets him act as a bit of a sub-tank.
It's because Riki has the BIGGEST HEART out of the entire party!
He's a tank, a healer and a DPS all at once, the best joke Monolith ever made was making Riki the most OP supporter.
My biggest advice for 2 is don't feel afraid to ask around for questions, the games combat is VERY poorly explained due to rushed development and most of their team being dragged away for Breath of the Wild, but EXTREMELY satisfying once you get deep into it. Chuggaconroys is great for basics but swapping to Enels if you decide to go deeper into the combat system is the play to make

Weird everyone says Xenosaga 2 is the worst one.
@@Magic_Ice He meant Xenoblade 2 lol.
@@ltb1345 i know it’s a joke in the Xeno community.
You could say Xeno 2 is breath of the wild.
Also I’m pretty sure that we would love a spoiler-cast if you’re up for it
You are correct about xc1 expert mode
@@Nelsito99 Thanks for confirming 👍
Yeah, Expert Mode is just XC1s level down system.
Also, The Chaotic Bringer Of Chaos is the GOAT!
Also also, Pandy best girl. It’s not even close.
@@dachking6657 expert mode exists to make grinding levels easier, and to make boss fights harder, so you can never be too overleveled.
@@tylercoon1791 the best girl is Floren, as they say: it takes a man to be best girl.
LETS GOOOO you finally played it bud I'm so glad you liked it!
I just realized how condescending this sounded. Did not mean to do that. Sorry
Still my favourite game of all time, glad you enjoyed it.
I leave a fun piece of Trivia that Riki having the highest base HP was due to the devs setting his HP to max for testing, but so many thought the idea of Riki being the best tank really funny, so they kept it
Also I really reccomend playing 2 before 3, even if the opinions feel super 50/50. Its worth the payoff.
@@The_Pikaboi 100%. 2 was my first game, and I got to millick meadows before I decided to go back and do 1 first. Absolutely improves the effect of 3 and makes it's kinda stanky final moments much more interesting.
The xenoblade is really cool. When I first played it. I had never played such massive game before and it really felt like something special
One thing to note about Expert Mode is that it's really a "hard mode". What it does is make it so you don't immediately gain exp outside of battle, instead any exp you earn from quests and discovering locations are stored in a pool of bonus which you can use to manually level up your characters, or even level them down
It's mainly there for players who want to do all the side quests but without becoming over-leveled, which was an issue in the original release
Honestly, Xenoblade is my favorite game series and I'm so glad Fither has experience this pretty neat game
YOOOOOOO, I remember putting the Xenoblade series for the games series that deserve more love. Please play the rest of the series, the second game is my favorite game ever. Also thank you Deci
Damn Fither’s getting into Peak Fiction?
I started xenoblade a year ago and now I’ve played the entire Klaus saga, playing x rn aswell as replaying each game in order to see all the content.
It’s probably one of the best series I’ve ever gotten into and it’s definitely an amazing ride.
Each game makes you rethink everything and I love it.
Glad you tried it, Xenoblade as a series is so good, hope you try the rest of them as well (dlcs and epilogue for Xenoblade DE included)
I found out about this game existing from chuggaaconroy, back in the day. Probably a somewhat common thing.
Thank you Deci!
xenoblade 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, but 3 is my favorite, hope you continue
I highly recommend playing 2 and Torna the Golden Country. However I would look up some combat guides because 2’s combat can be a bit unintuitive due to the horrible tips and tutorials.
A newcomer with interest in Xenosaga?! 😮
I always want more Xenosaga content.
Same. I've played it for almost 400 hours, possibly my favorite game ever.
big xenoblade fan here for xeno games you can keep going and really enjoy just blade but i highly reccomend going back and playing xenogears on the ps1 and then the xenosaga trilogy on ps2 they arnt necessary exactly to understand the xeno stories but they are monolithsofts, the company that makes xenoblade original series and you could say they are a greater series that xenoblade fits in, also they are also just really good games with the exception of maybe saga episode 2 and some parts of xenogears disc 2. if you just want to focus on the much more attainable blade games i would just go with the release order frankly for the numbered entries with 2, 2's dlc, the extra story in definitive edition, 3, 3-dlc with saving xenoblade X for if theres a port of it or just when you want a more sci-fi style expirience, hope this helps and you can enjoy the series just as much as me
Welcome to an amazing series!
Now to give you some direction on what games to play next (these aren't in order, these are just to give you information)
Xenoblade 2 is my favorite game of all time, but it has a slow start. Its a cool machete order but its a little convoluted haha)
Xenoblade Future Connected is an epilogue story that is attached to Definitive Edition on Switch. If you are interested in playing that, give it a shot, the new area is pretty fun, but it is mostly an afterthought
Xenoblade X is a spiritual successor to Xenoblade 1 if you enjoy that combat system, it just takes it to 100. Its kinda a nutso broken game if you know what you're doing, but a more difficult XC1 if you don't. Its pretty alright, but its mostly known for the world and the mecha combat than it is the story (for good reason)
Xenoblade 3 and its own DLC expansion Future Redeemed should be played after XC2.
Its unlike any other Square game, in a good way
okay actual jumpscare, it's so dope seeing that youre playing xenoblade!!!!
This is my favorite game ever made. Glad you've played it
I guess a warning If you’re checking out future games is that none of them play like each other. The closest games gameplay wise are 1 and X, and even then theres a BUNCH separating them. Just give each game a fair shot when you get to them.
Also shoutouts to best girl Melia for the insane amount of trauma and bullshit she regularly has to deal with.
To this day, Riki remains arguably the --greatest-- bestest nopon in the series
Riki fought a god is space. The heropon that will never be topped
Also love how all the other great Nopon in the series are directly related to him.
Tora
Not by charactrr but objectively by gameplay
Oh my god hes busted
For XC2, I recommend watching this one video from Chuggaaconroy that he did when he was doing his let’s play of it. It’s a spoiler free tutorial/guide/tips and tricks video called something along the lines of ‘What I wish I knew before playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2’
It’s really a great game, but with bad tutorials.
Of course, mapping an entire area upon your first entry to area was not a smart idea because there would be that one section where monsters would be level 80+ while Shulk wasn't even level 20 and I was like, "Oh hell no!"
In regards to Xenosaga Trilogy from PS2 era; my thoughts on those games are as follows: Episode 1 was spectacular.
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!
Man I just started playing XC2 and fithers just uploads this, life is great lmao
I would love a spoiler discussion from you. I hope you end up enjoying Xenoblade 2 when you get around to it. Thank you Deci!
First time here but I'm always down for some Xenoblade content.
Btw YES, do a spoiler discussion video
YEAAAAAAAA XENOBLADE LETS GO
The DLC for 3 just came out and it is SO satisfying.
Thank you Deci.
I wouldn't recommend playing ALL the xenogames just yet, but the xenoblade games are a good idea, and they've got lots of references to the other xenogames in the games too- also there's the smaller, side story games that are VERY important to the lore at times. So you might want to play those along with the main games they come with.
I haven't played xenoblade 1 yet but trust me xenoblade 2 and 3 are some of the best games I've ever played
Thank you Deci
Xenoblade 2 is one of my favorite games, hope you enjoy it Fither
FITHER PLAYING PEAK (deci is a real one)
Fither, my brother, you NEED to play Xenogears. Every day that you aren't playing Xenogears is a day you are playing yourself
Man if you like this “story that takes place on another life form” story idea, you’d LOVE Bionicle.
“That’s Dunban over there” - Shulk
I watched flyan play xenogears and now i like xenogears i think i am going to try to emulate xenogears
My 2nd fav game ever, helping me want to live. Insane banger
thank you deci ❤
I knew it was only a matter of time before you played one of these.
You want to play Xenoblade 2 next for sure. It is slow in the beginning for a few reasons, but most agree that it kicks up HARD. It's my favorite of the blade trilogy. The less you know about the game the better.
X is my personal favorite Xenoblade game, though the main story isn't where the game shines. That actually goes to the sidequests which build the world.
Oh sick it's cool to see you got o this, my favorite franchise for sure.
Will you talk about Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition’s Future Connected? In a possible future Xenoblade spoiler video. Not to be confused with the recent Xenoblade 3’s Future Redeemed DLC.
I love this game, Riki especially. I mained the dude and he was a beast. Fucking love him. All Hail the Heropon!!
Enjoy your Xeno-journey, I don't think you'll be disappointed
You just played 1? Well... Play Future Connected, the XC1 bonus mode, and get ready for 2 and 3, they're even better in my opinion. 3, especially with its recent DLC, is my favorite game of all time. XC is probably my new favorite game series, and it overtook Persona.
Thank you, Deci c:
YOOOOOO Fither finally getting into the peak of fiction!
Down the rabbit hole you go, pro tip: xenoblade 2 is much more enjoyable if you watch chuggaconroy's: "everything i wish i knew about xenoblade chronicles 2" video, its spoiler free and just serves to alleviate the notoriously bad tutorials.
Hey Fither love you and the video but I recommend going to Daksha shrine for a big surprise
YOOOO FITHER FINALLY PLAYING PEAK FICTION LETS FUCKING GOOOOO!!!
FINALLY, glad to hear you enjoyed it!
The Xenoblade Chronicles is one of my favorite series of all time Xenoblade 3 is my favorite game of all time and Xenoblade 1 is in my top 5 and Xenoblade 2 is in my top 10 I am so glad you loved the game
XC2 I totally recommend when you get the chance
It's always fun to watch someone fall down the rabbit hole of my favorite series ever made
Xenoblade 2 is a very... unique game, but a bunch of the more heated complaints people had about it came from the fact that the game is very different from the first in tone and style and the fact that the first few hours frankly kinda suck gameplaywise, however thematically speaking it's very similar and the story and characters are fantastic and ultimately that's what really makes Xeno as a series stand out
If you do end up playing Saga and Gears too, I'd recommend doing so before the DLC of the third game in order to receive the highest possible dose of kino from the conclusion of the series
this is my favorite game ever i'm really glad you enjoyed, i think xeno 2 is harder to get into but can be just as rewarding if you stick it out so i really hope you have a good experience with it as well
Don't forget to play the most important part of the Xeno series: The Bible
XBC2 is tied with persona 3 as my top game ever. Can't wait for you to try it
Fither, you definitely gotta give xenoblade 2 a try. It’s an amazing game.
I’ll even buy you a copy so you can check it out.
2 remains my eternal favorite of the series, but they’re all god-tier.
i play xenoblade as soon as I own a switch ! it sounds like so much fun
I think you're gonna love xc2, not gonna spoil, but playing 1 first adds so much
as for the other xenos, def play 2 before some others as 2 has a lot more xeno DNA
For Xenoblade Chronicles 2 I recommend watching chuggaaconroy’s things I wish I knew video as it explains thing better than the bad tutorials
I would recommend playing in release order: Xenoblade 1 > Xenoblade 2 > Torna: The Golden Country > Future Connected > Xenoblade 3 > Future Redeemed
Xenoblade 2 is a great game but it has some weird choices which definitely have impact on enjoyment. (Honestly I like Torna more than the base game so that's something to look forward too as well.)
@Fither
Fither if you like characters you will like Xenoblade 2
I love the Xenoblade series and Xenoblade 1 has one of my favorite narratives of all time. I really hope you enjoy the rest of the xenoblade series.
Just finished 3's DLC and... all I can say is this is my favorite rpg series of all time. X is now the only one left for me to play 😢
Thank you, Deci
Wow you actually played this? I love xenoblade!!!! Awesome!!!!
I don't know who this .Deci guy is but he seems chill. Thanks .Deci.
I love how Riki, the bard, has the most HP, never change Xenoblade, never change.
