I always loved my trips home and back to work when I did the trip each weekend. The smell of the ballast and the brake dust. Travelling on the assist locos from Lithgow to Bell. Great memories. Thank you.
I used to be a regular commuter (Springwood to Central) from 1976 to 1984, starting with the "U-Boats" and then the Vees. Loved the double-deckers.....with their A/C and gold-tinted windows. :)
was a bit bumpy towards the end as i was keeping an eye on how much recording time we had left. As soon as we pulled up the camera stopped recording automatically as i had run out of room, the timing couldn't have been better. Beforehand the camera was rested on a ledge inside the front centre door which resulted in the ticking sound heard throughout most of the video due to the vibrations
Yeah I had to show the scenery lol, that is storage for The ZigZag, I'm pretty sure that's a narrow gauge garret, not an AD60. If you contact them through their website I'm sure they'll be able to shed some light on future plans for anything stored up there ;-)
Saddening to think that if the National rail freight line is ever built west of the divide the main west and this amazing infrastructure may become a rail backwater.

G'Day, Bruce; I fondly remember your early BVE route going the other way from a lifetime ago!
Probably the best vid on ten tunnels. Congrats.

Awesome fotage! I love vsets never failed. Get nervous coming home to LITHGOW really shakes me and i love it family waiting so special
Yes, a clean window would be nice 😃 I is nice to see the V-Set going through the _Rat Holes!_ May be next time could start before the first Rat Hole?
R.I.P V-Sets.
Interesting catenary design...
I don't know about riding in the cab, but a V set is still a very comfortable way to travel. Who knows what the replacements will be like.

interesting how they are going to widen ziz zag tunnels for the new future trains??
Has any one done one from Katoomba to lithgow (and return [separate videos])?
Why so Shakey? Does the V set not have a flat surface to put a camera?
So now they are widening these narrow Tunnel corridors?!
