James like your candid reviews i currently have an m3 driver,,have played this game for 50years ,don,t like big headed drivers but this one ticks the box currently play of 18 ps like your review on gapr hi , keep up the good info😉
James great 411 on moving the weights on the M3 440 I found that moving the weights to the front the strike sounds like hitting a tin can, however moving the weights back sounds more solid. Your comments please?
"You don't play golf in the studio" I like what you said, a swing monitor tends to give the best scenario ie. club head speed and distance. It is a bit more difficult in reality when your looking at a 450 yd par 4, the fairway is is only 20 yds wide with O.B. left If you can hit your Sunday best your golden. A monitor doesn't put that pressure on you.
Would changing something, make a difference... Lmfao walk with a weight in front of yourself, then a weight behind and tell me if there's a difference. Common sense should take over at this point
Great reviews...first time comment, long time viewer. I would be curious to see how this test would end up with two different balls on each setting...example PV1x vs AVX. For me, the AVX is my gamer because my miss is a pull-cut and I can hit that shot and be on the right side fairway or first-cut of rough versus deep rough or worse with higher spinning golf balls. Soft feel, for me, on wedges and putts is bonus. Thanks again for the videos, but next time don't be so shy in front of the camera! ;-)
James, what swing speed do you have, and what was the average distance of the drive with the weights forward and in back? I'm a slow speed senior that is looking to replace a 10.5 degree Nike Sasquatch driver. Could any other seniors weigh in as well? Thanks.
About to purchase one of these next week and will be fitted. Question. Based on my current driver I would get the stiff mid kick shaft. Did you stick with one of the Taylormade shafts or something else? I know from another video you went extra stiff right? Our length numbers are comparable.
good review dude, i have the m3 too and have the wieghts back, its so much better can shape it both ways, forgiving and long as doesnt spin too much either for me with a good shaft. i cant see who would want the weights forward unless you loved the striaght shot and didnt bother shaping it and hit middle all the time.
Just picked up the M3. I’m a pretty decent player with the driver and I’m making consistent contact in or around center club face. However I hit a very LOW ball which is at times both a blessing and a curse. Should I have weights forward for the increased distance or will that make my already low ball flight even lower?
Couldn't agree more about changing the settings James. I've had an R11 for 7 years and never changed it from the standard settings. IIRC it's also illegal to change the characteristics of a club during a round anyway, which means if I am correct you can't fiddle with the weights after you've teed off on the 1st?
I own one and there is a difference. In my experience shifting the weights back makes the head feel lighter and more "hollow". Putting them forward feels heavier and more solid - like swinging a long iron.
James Robinson Golf always enjoy your slightly different stuff. If you ever get a chance could you do a mid price range ball test. callaway supersoft, titleist dt tru soft. That kind of price bracket thanks pal.
Love your reviews typically but only hitting 1 ball each when swings and sweet spot positions can change so dramatically is far from a true test. Maybe 5 balls each way would be a little more "technical" for an evaluation. Beauty part is I just bought the driver last week since the M5/M6 came out I was able to pay $205 U.S.
Having been in that same situation, I have to agree with James. Leave the weights in standard position and focus more on fixing your swing. There are no magic fixes.
Loved it, this is just what I'm working on, thank you

Which is the biggest influencer to fade or draw, using the movable weights or opening and closing the face angle, like watching keep up the good work.

What about placing the weights in the center, or move them back at 1/8" to 1/4" inch at a time? Would that make the shot any different?

So what if you moved both both weights on the back toe part , do you think it would help turn the club over and help with slicing the ball .
Would be awesome to see the ball flight... Considering that's what this video is regarding

Thanks glad your enjoying the videos!
Good on course reveiw.. and I agree with the weights forward, work a lot better for me and my swing then the weights back.. nice job good video..
Thanks so much!!!

A big thank you for sharing.
Now that it's in the bag, what settings are you using? Loft, weight adjustment, open/closed ?
Standard settings Keith, and just a tiny bit lower lift with it being a 10deg 440 head? Loving it to be fair

Thanks Charles! Totally agree!

I like the on course reviews, but I'm wondering how much more run out the low spin setting would have gotten on some hard fairways.
Mike B I honestly didn’t notice a huge difference mate I think hard fairways you would get a plenty regardless, thanks for reaching out! 👍🏼⛳️
@@JamesRobinsonGolf the harder the fairway is the bigger the gap between the two will be because it lets the topspin ride longer
I just want to know the difference in feel on your backswing.

great review😊
ahoyahoy booth thanks mate!!!!

This is a VERY old video mate but thanks and noted
Not seeing the flight hurts the video. Monitors would be a better video
What if you have a very bad slice where would you put them?

You forgot your signature line.
LETS DO IT NOW (cover camera)
Are you playing the m3 or ts 3 now
As it stands M3 but it’s like choosing between your kids! If I had kids? I imagine. 😂
I have the m3 Like it very much
Think it better than than the r15 or m1
