My advice is to join as an officer. If you join as a soldier, you will find yourself in basic training with lots of 18-21 year olds whom have incredibly poor academic profiles from rough backgrounds. The army is a fantastic opportunity for people from such backgrounds to turn their lives around, but for older university educated individuals, you will probably not enjoy the very 'laddish' culture in the ranks of the army. I wanted to visit a recruitment centre this summer to ask a whole bunch of questions but due to covid that wasn't possible...
@@obi-wankenobi9187 well first of all congratulations with getting through phase one! Now as for my questions (I know that different roles might have slightly different requirements, so to make things easier let's say that I'm applying for the same role as you): Do you need to take some maths or physics test to be able to join the engineers? What about grades from school or degrees from university? Do you need to submit those? Can a soldier transition to officer further down his/her career and if so what are the requirements? Are the physical standards for engineers lower than the infantry for example? Is there a high demand for engineers in the army right now?
Willus 212 em well, you don’t need anything past an A level to join engineers UNLESS you wanna join as an officer, which yes you can do down the line if you so please, which is my plan, and bring your grade certification with you just to have it, but unless you failed maths or English you don’t have to do much in terms of education, you get the odd essay , but they’re easy, 2000 word essay etc. But that was for basic training not for engineers. Is mid 20s a good age to join would everyone else be a lot younger?
mid 20's is pretty normal to be joining as an officer, slightly older than average for joining as a soldier but if you want it, go for it. It's certainly not too old at all.
Yep that'll be absolutely fine
Whilst they were doing this i was getting beasted for no reason just in the other bloq
Do they still do beastings heard they stopped because the snowflakes didnt like it

I would love to join the army and serve for our country, but I am worried that I am not the right person for it...
what do you mean by that? if its what you want to do give it a go.
What regiment are you in. I'm just wondering. I forgot the cap badge that's on your beret.
It’s the Royal Anglian Regiment. The red/yellow flash you see means it’s the 1st battalion (The Vikings)

I'm going to Pirbright for my faze 1 in 2 weeks I got a 6.7 on my beeb test so I'm going in as a cook but I really want to be 3 Scots for that I need a 6.8 minimum so I guess what I'm asking is at what point do I get to change regment or do I have to stick with what I've got even if Im able to meet the infinity requirements once I get through the faze 1?
If you get ur beeb test over what is required to be 3 scots maybe you can ask them to change it to 3 scots, never hurts by asking good luck .
What did u get for beeb test
i want to join hut worried because im scared of heights, any advice ?
I wouldn't let that affect your decision to join, it's pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
thats such a minor thing and you shouldnt let it stop you. unless you're joining paras ofc then maybe not
