    Hey all! If you've looked for cheap XLR microphones on amazon you've likely seen the NW-700, NW-800, and BM-800 from brands such as Neewer, Tonor, Aukey, Zingyou, and now Excelvan. People look into these for getting into streaming, podcasting, cheap studio gear, etc and honestly...its not bad at all! Here i go over the microphone and show you some clips recorded with windows voice recorder, OBS Studio with noise suppression, and compare it to the Takstar SGC-598 shotgun mic on my Lumix G7. Check it out!

    I also picked up the BM 800 for roughly $4.60 on Amazon when it was on sale. I picked up an aftermarket XLR cable, upped my interface choice to the UMC22 and picked up the cheap neewer suspension boom. Basically a complete package for around $60. I also had to pick up a 5/8" to 3/8" adapter to work best with the arm.

    You are the only one that has told me that my BM 800 requires phantom power. Thank you for letting me know. At first It didn't work at all Now it works with an external sound card. What phantom power supply do you recommend ? Would appreciate your input.

    • @CoalitionGaming

      Glad i can help! More than anything, i recommend a USB audio interface that provides phantom power, like the one linked in the description. Its a solid option for $30.

But yea, if you could help out a brother and tell my the list and prices of the things i need to get that amazing audio when you had the OBS studio clip. I hope I can get a setup like that. Thanks!

    Whenever I stream there is always a constant buzz on the mic, not matter which one I use. Whether its muted or not its always there. I've turned down all sorts of settings but I've yet to find a fix. Check out some of the videos on my channel the buzz is ever present - on every video

    • @CoalitionGaming
      @CoalitionGaming  5 лет назад +1

      Could be interference from something. Grab a USB extension cable and run your mic as far from the PC as you can get it. Turn all lights offb and any other electronics. Adding the noise suppression filter on OBS can help with it too, for when you aren't speaking.

  • @TimLitfieldakaTimWhitfield
    @TimLitfieldakaTimWhitfield 5 лет назад

    One last comment, what kind of mic input is that ? I don't recognize it. Do I need and adapter to plug my mic in ?

    • @CoalitionGaming
      @CoalitionGaming  5 лет назад

      the cable you mean? Its an XLR cable. The description also has a link to that (and the previously mentioned interface). The included cable with these mics is usually an XLR to 3.5mm cable, which wont work with the interface. The interface needs it to be XLR on both ends.

      BM-800 without phantom power is no good. A $30 Behringer Uphoria UM2 will bring its quality up immensely and id prefer that. Outside of that, the k669b is a solid choice, especially factoring portability.

      @hassanfirdaus3342 4 года назад

      @@adib733 the sound of the mic wil suffer from high noise. and the audio level will be very low. all condenser mic need 48V phantom power to use it properly.
      its usable but you need to speak very close and loud to the mic. but the output will be so soft. You can bump up the gain on windows sound setting but that will introduce more noise and hissing. and that will annoy your viewers.
      the audio interface suggested in the video is the cheapest good audio interface that you can get. I have it and it works well with this mic, i also have the mic as well. But if if you really on a budget and cant afford the audio interface. Just buy a stand alone 48v phantom power supply. If you are from Malaysia or Singapore (which i think u are judging from your username, but if you are not then im sorry) you can buy it on shopee or lazada for around RM50 - RM100 (i dunno how much that will be in SGD tho)
